“Gumtree remove bad reviews so no point in reviews. Ebay do the same..they remove negative feedback.... no surprise here Ebay owns Gumtree.... the whole point of reviews and negative feedback is to warn other buyers to dishonest sellers and trady's... So don't waste your time... just ring the bad sellers and wake them up at 2am... dial 1831 infront of their number and they wont be able to see your caller i.d leave it 15 minutes till they just get back to sleep and wake them up again... lol.. revenge is a dish best served cold,, lol”
“I bought a bike from gumtree and the seller said the bike is 1 years old. The chain broke after a few rides and the seat was the wrong size fitted to the bike so it always wobbled when you sat on it. we spoke to Stows and they said the wrong seat has been fitted to this bike and over-tightening it has damaged the hole in which the seat rests so it can't even be replaced.”
“Would give it zero rating if possible! Terrible customer service! Remove ads for NO REASON at all! Customer service is rude and unhelpful! Worst company ever to deal with!”
“Don't trust this woman.
Called a woman on 12th April from somerset in frome, name Caroline. She had Jack russel puppies for sale for £490. I called her up and she made a verbal agreement over the phone that I could have one of her female pups for this price and agreed to collect her in two Weeks. I understood when I spoke to her on the phone the puppies hadn't been vaccinated or microchipped due to the coronvirus, I straight away booked appointment for her on the Monday 27th April to get her microchiped and for her to have her first vacation. The next following day after I called caroline I asked her what type of food she is eating and got no response. Without telling me she puts the price upto £550 on Gumtree and has not put online that my puppy was reserved, I texted her asking her if my puppy was still reserved for me and she replied this, my apologies yes the girls are 550 Gumtree surggested i put price up due to there rules on safety on animal wellfare yes i still have the girl for you from Caroline. I then agreed to this price and I was expecting to pick my puppy up at 8 weeks old on Saturday 25th April. On Monday 20th April I texted her I'll see you this coming Saturday 25th April between 10-12 as driving to somerset would take at least four hours. She replied this Hi they will be ready on the 30th as i got date wrong they were born on the 12 March so they will be 7 weeks on the 30th they are all eating and drinking so i will let them go on that date is that okay with you from Caroline. I then agreed with caroline and arranged to pick my puppy up on Thursday 30th April between 10-12, I told her that I had her bed, food, toys already and I had to change her vet appointment to the 8th may as the vet said she will be two young to have her first injection at 7 weeks. Out of no where she texted me this Hi my apologies but i am now selling my puppies for 780 due to inundated calls from people wanting the puppies because they are board at home i want them to go to dedicated forever loving homes sorry if this sounds to much but i cant believe the amount of twats that have rang me just because they are board being at home i love my puppies very much and i expect others to love them as much as i do if your serious about giving her a loving home then i can let you pick her up this weekend for 780 sorry again hope you understand. From Caroline.
This horrible woman was going to let this puppy go on Saturday 25th April this weekend, so she could make £780, which means she would only be 6 weeks old. There has been puppies known of dying leaving there mother that young and also without the requirements she needed could of resulted into the puppy being seriously ill. She hadn't got her microchiped nor vaccinated and bump the price up £230 more to line her pockets. She doesn't care about these puppies as she wouldn't let them go so young. I'm not saying everyone on Gumtree is greedy and crawl like this woman, but please if you are going to buy a puppy make sure it's from a legit breeder like pets4home as the breeders on there have to pay a certain fee to advistise there puppies plus the site makes sure the breeders have all the requirements in place for the puppies. Gumtree does not suggust breeders put the price up for puppies, so if you have notice your puppy going up in price it's for the breeders benefit not for the puppy. Thank you for reading.”
“I know its a free service but unless you do pay something your ad doesn't get seen. I search my item in my living room with 1mile away and it didn't show up”
“If there was a zero I would rate Gumtree a huge ZERO!! WHY? Because they've totally abolished emails so told by their RUDE customer service yet it is still displayed on ads, they remove ads with no explanation whatsoever, 99% of the time it is impossible to log in and now a notification of suspension FOR NO VALID REASON!? Impossible to call customer service as just cuts off before even being connected, complacent and rude is an understatement, so annoying”
“Advertised three items and had two people trying to scam me by asking for PayPal details, I informed them I was not willing to give them, beware of these scam artists, insist on cash payments.”
“My daughter was scammed on gumtree and their help desk was next to useless. They didn’t care. I raised the complaint several times. I only ever received an automatic response saying complaint had been logged and a member of the help team would be in touch.
Too many scammers are now using gumtree. Very disappointed as I was previously a great fan of gumtree.”
“Full of scammers, have tried to contact gumtree to inform them about this, you would think they would want to stop this. But absolutely no reply. Even contacted them through Instagram and they are not interested, viewing my messages and showing no care for their users. AVOID THIS SITE”
“This man John Skeels from Romford is a con merchant. Do not buy from him...falsely advertised now wont give me the £200 deposit back and blocked me. Please beware of him..he at present has 2 cars a a pedal bike for sale.”
“Nearly got scammed twice tried to sell something one person wanted me to post it to machaster and he would put money in my account for postage luckily I didn't give any information and another one said he would turn up but didn't even ask for my address I think it should be scraped ebay amazon alot safer”
“I think they are the scamsters who are scamming the people. If you think about it why is it that these scamsters are never caught and keep doing it when Claire Cobbledick of gumtree has the perpetrator's email address, contact number and possibly ip address??? Also they delete your ads as soon as you post it citing "only allowed one ad" while their friends are posting up to 36 ads and then she is arrogant and refuses to explain!”
