“gumtree are liars and crooks don't touch them with a barge pole .i put my pick up for sale on gumtree paid for urgent but could not find my ad ? upgraded to featured but still i could not fined my ad ? .i put all my details in the search it came up 0 results for that vehicle. after 2 weeks of complaint's i have sked for my money back .customer service is absolutely terrible ignorant and rude they stop chat if you complain”

“MY Daughter bought a car , she's only young and spent her savings on it . The engine light came on on the way home so she took it to a garage for service. They are an MOT station , who said it was a write off and had been in an accident. The Seller has blocked us and was fake. Gumtree won't give us details of the sellar and assist., Just said it was a police matter. You are the platform that sells dangerous cars with no recourse.”

“Had a account had business add spent lots of money over the years with gumtree then they wiped me couldn't get in and couldn't get any help or answers so I wouldn't recommend them at all”

“Gumtree used to ba a great site to buy/sell items but now its a nightmare trying to sighn in. They ask me to make a new password and when its recieved it doesnt work. I try to get a code sent to my phone and when it arrives it says its incorrect. Such a pity as I have ben using Gumtree for approx 12 years”

“Absolutely crud. Can't ring them a d speak to a person. Have to go through chat and the guy Steve Z was refusing to help me. Kept telling me to respond to the email which I did I have he screenshots. Very unprofessional, rude. I can't sign in because I no longer have that phone number. There's no option to be able to change it until I guess you sign in. But as it's sending a verification code to the old phone it's impossible. So Steve Z sends me an email telling me to respond which I did asking me when's the last time I used gumtree. What's the last thing I sold. Who was the person I sold it to. Umm I don't know it was like 5 years ago how the hell would I remember that information. So he was just having a laugh at my expense. What's the point of the customer service help chat if they don't want to help you.”

“So I go to collect a uplighter at 2 Branklyn Crescent, Glasgow from a million pound house. I try to give the women £15 as agreed she asks for £20 I call her stupid Gumtree close my account. Like a lot of once useful organisations it's all over for Gumtree.”

“Disgusting business takes your money but no responsibility when your ads are not showing. We need to file a law suit against them for all the money they take from us collectively and giving nothing in return. Shame on you business of crooks”

“Does not adhere to their own rules let alone the law letting an add stay up with the re sale of a puppy that someone bought from me just days after taking her on I am the breeder and breaking lucys law wich prohibits the re sale of any animal under the age of 6 months”

“If I could put zero I would I put up an old phone to sell buyer came named “Kerry” which then was a man speaking to me find via the app he snatched the phone I wasn’t all the way thinking as I left my baby upstairs whilst going down to meet “Kerry” the man couldn’t find my place Proceeded to do bank transfer put in my details then showed bank transfer which he cancelled and drove off with my phone ! I’m already depressed after having my daughter alot has happened someone doing this to me has just set me back I trusted them as they were talking nice and seemed genuine”

“They have hidden charge apply which they dont show before paying, be careful i have paid £15 to promote for 7days but they charged £45 instead and refused to refund Use Auto trader instead genuine site no scam”

“No Safeguarding No Option To Report or Block Scammers on App or Web Browser Ad ID: 1466446996 Infinite messaged me with a standard scam message of buying my ring and paying by paypal and sending brother to pick up which is the same thing that all the other scammers use and I can't even block or report him on my web browser or phone app at all!! What happened to your safety feature? I used to be able to report and block via my iphone app but now even your browser don't offer that?! It doesn’t make me feel safe to use your platform at all now!”

“Used for years to post the SAME advert to rent my garage. Last year the advert was removed for no breach, Gumtree apologised after this happened 3 times and reinstated the advert. Posted again this year to re advertise and it was removed within 1 minute. There is no breach of terms and the advert has been the same since 2017. No reason, no reply! Have messaged 4 times since the advert was immediately removed, no response on chat. Plus fees have gone from £5.99 to £17.99 for a 1 minute advert. Unreasonable and failed customer experience”

“The level of fraud taking place on gumtree is ridiculous, once I post a new ad I receive at least 3 fraudulent msgs - sort it out. This isn't even the issue. You spent money on the latest UI changes and for the life of me I cannot figure out why, complete waste of time and money. You have added unnecessary clicks to the process (go look up anything about design and you'll realise this is bad). The old UI was spot on, zero complaints with it! Revert back to the old UI Fix your mobile application, it is slow and fails constantly.”

“Registered an account through Gmail and couldn't upload any ads. Contacted support, offered everything to them, including ID, and was more or less told their automated system decided I was suspicious, shoved their rule book in my face and was told to have a nice day. Apparently, you'll be deemed a national security threat for trying to advertise a couch for $125 pick-up only. Customer service is too lazy to even do a basic check for anything or to cooperate. Go elsewhere. They don't value your business. User's recommendation: Go elsewhere.”
