Wrong item supplied, so had wait two weeks to replace. Complained never followed up with personal contact. Room had to be left empty so unable decorate or carpet fitter had be cancelled. Then when part fitted, fault on wardrobe door noticed by us, another two week wait. Then on day of fitting cancelled and moved back day. Fitter was fine no probs. Complained and never heard anything! Only frequent demands to pay final payment. Expensive for what they are, happy with my wardrobes and final fitting. Would never use again. Dreadful customer service. Two rooms out of use for a month!!!

I had my bedroom fitted about two years ago and I love it. A couple of snags were sorted out. Would use them again.

Loved the product. Negotiated a discount on two bedrooms which was accepted then retraced by Hammonds as they had based the price on one of the wrong rooms! We then agreed on the higher price to be told we had missed the deadline and it had gone up again. Out of principle we decided not to go ahead as we felt we were being taken advantage of. Five months later an email offered us 10% off making the deal even less than the original quote, also with a deadline of a few days. Unfortunately for Hammonds we went elsewhere so they totally lost out due to tactics. I might add that Hammonds won’t entertain providing other trades. We needed a power point moving slightly and an existing wardrobe removed, none of which Hammonds would arrange in house. We used a local carpenter instead who did everything. We had used Hammonds twice before in our previous home and been happy, so more fool them on this occasion.

Very high pressured saleswoman.I wanted an old fitted wardrobe replaced, during her visit i mentioned i might want some extra wardrobes fitted at a later date when i could afford them. After telling her this she showed no interest in selling me the original wardrobe i wanted she was hell bent on selling me both this and te extra wardrobes that i did not want at the present time. Every time i tried to steer her back to what i originally wanted she kept pressing me to have the whole room done pointing me towards taking out finance which i did not want. The price started out at £12000 which of course she then brought down to a special deal of almost £8000 but i had to make up my mind that day!! I hate this high pressure gimmicky way of doing business.I had also hoped for some design ideas for the interior to maximise the space but no she planned it as having the same interior that i already have ,i call this lack of design input lazy as she had plenty of time as she was here almost 3 hours!!!Most of that time was spent trying to sell me extra products i did not want at the present time. After reading this page i am so glad i did not proceed with hammonds. To add insult to injury at the end of the visit she told me they do not remove the old existing fitted wardrobe,i would have to do this myself. At the prices they charge i would have expected this to be part of the service!

How deeply I regret that I didn’t find this page before I decided to use Hammonds to provide furniture for my new bedroom. This has to be the worst company I have ever made the mistake of dealing with. Both the initial salesman/designer and the surveyor got the measurements of my bedroom wrong with the result that, when the fitter came to do a three day job, it had to be abandoned part way through as the design did not fit in. I was then left without a usable bedroom in my house for several weeks, during which I found out that the person who had introduced herself as the person who would be ‘looking after’ me during the installation process was not there to help the customer, but to protect Hammonds. She never called when she said she would, and not once replied to any of the numerous emails I sent to her. In spite of her unhelpfulness, the room was eventually remeasured and a second fitting date was arranged. The ‘remedial fitter’ managed to fit most of the furniture as planned but I agreed with him that one unit would be left out due to difficulty fitting it in. And another unit, a triple wardrobe, was left without a door as somebody had forgotten to order it! So, I had another wait before my bedroom was finally finished minus one planned unit. Altogether, it took well over three months from paying the initial deposit to having my room completed, and for much of that time I had to sleep on my sofa. And my compensation for this debacle? £300 knocked off my final payment! I would prefer to give no stars to this company but can’t. However, I would like to thank the fitters who must get so frustrated at having to apologise for mistakes made by other, less efficient employees, of this dreadful company.

I wish I had read these reviews before spending over £8K (allegedly worth over £16K of course but discounted). The reviews I saw were high starred but I know understand that people are told by the fitters that if they don't get a good rating then they don't get paid - apparently they get 75% and only get paid the rest after how many revisits. Appointment with designer was positive and follow up with surveyor confirmed the measurements except that our computer tower was not going to fit in the cupboard it was supposed to fit in. We were having a corner desk, shelving, cupboards and display cabinets fitted plus a tall cupboard in a room we call the study. All the drawers came with wires on them for hanging files which were not required or requested, some of the units were sticking out albeit slightly under the worktop and the drawers were not closing without a gentle shove. The biggest disaster was that the tall cupboard did not fit and we came in to find the fitter had cut off part of the window sill to make it fit. The two large drawers especially with the wire inserts are a waste of space. We ordered this in February and it was fitted about six weeks later. After a visit from an Area Manager the windowsill was to be made good and the two large drawers replaced with three useable drawers plus an opening like the one in the desk top was to be cut in the side of the cupboard so we could use the sockets inside. We were finally advised that the revisit would be on 31st May and then contacted to ask if this could be brought forward to the morning of 27th - Bank Holiday Sunday. We agreed to this as my kitchen is filled with books and office stuff which we have not yet been able to put away. We had two messages confirming the fitter was coming between 0800 and 1200 and made plans to go out with the family later in the day. On Saturday the fitter text to say he would be there between 12 and 1pm. We explained we had plans in the afternoon based on the twice confirmed time he was expected and he said he could come in 31st. Apparently the fitter had to give priority to someone who had been waiting over 5 months to get something fixed. We cancelled our plans as I needed this done. Still not finished as no drawer fronts of the right size had been supplied to the fitter. No idea how much longer we will have to wait but the whole experience has been very poor and I feel totally conned. I did the buy now pay later option as I thought this would provide more security if something went wrong but not sure if that is the case as it is not Hammonds I "owe" the money too. Would probably have been better to get a joiner in to build what we wanted as this is not bespoke furniture - just flat pack.

This company is one of the worst company you will ever deal with. Their sale person was brilliant, came to our house, showed us pictures and samples, took measurements and secured a sale from us. From then on, it went downhill. The fitter arrived at our house and kept on complaining about the quality of the product. The panels received were the wrong size. The shelves were all fitted at a different height, cut to a different depth. The wardrobe was not secured to the walls. The back panel was not the right size. The joints were glued with mastics. The fitter even said that this was worst quality than Ikea. After a week of repeated calls, we managed to get someone inspecting the work who basically said they needed to start again but mainly that this was a dangerous fit as this was not attached to the wall. Hammonds client services is appalling. They wanted to send someone to get this stuck to the wall, but failed to call us. We called them 13 times within 2 weeks, they called us once. Failing everyday to fulfill their duties of care and after service. I would highly recommend anyone stay away from this company. Worst product ever but the client servicing is beyond appalling. 10 years guarantee with this service, no faith, no confidence. No thanks.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The initial experience is very positive, the team that came to do the design and the initial survey were all very professional, so I felt that we were in good hands with Hammonds...well nothing could be further from the truth. The initial build was cancelled or rescheduled several times often without any notice, so I would have to call them to find out why the fitter did not arrive. Once the product was eventually fitted, there were some snags that needed to be attended to, and that is when they really let themselves down...unreliable fitters and the customer service person that I spoke to on my last call to complain was just completely indifferent bordering on rude. Not once did she even apologise for the inconvenience of having the fitters cancel yet again for their follow-up call for the snag list. The quality of the product is okay, but not worth the hassle.

My furniture is supposed to be fitted next week and have been trying to get through to Hammonds customer service all afternoon, have they gone on bank holiday already. They are not helpful when you do and sometimes rude. After reading reviews online I am dreading next week what have I let myself in for. They are very good when they want your money but oh dear what have I done. I sincerely hope it is a good job or I will be extremely upset and that’s before they start.

Useless customer service as once out of guarantee they don't want to know about any problems one might be experiencing. We shall NEVER purchase from Hammonds again and will advise all of our friends about our experience!

What a mess. It took them 7 visits to my house over 10 weeks to get the right furniture fitted. They were always very apologetic on the phone, but apologies don't get furniture fitted. At the end they offered a paltry £300 for all the failed fitting appointments and the damage they caused to the paint on my wall. Shocking. I've gone to the Furniture Ombudsman to get a better settlement. If you choose to deal with them, good luck, and keep notes of what is said in every phone call and agreement.

The most appalling service. They take your money and fail to deliver. After repeated visits to "complete" the installation they offer derisory compensation and send threatening letters. A cowboy organisation best avoided.

Useless customer support, average workmanship and terrible follow-up service dealing with snags. Hammonds is not cheap but the level of customer care and the quality of the end product is not up to scratch. I wish I had done more research into the customer reviews before deciding to go with them. My advice to any prospective customers would be to avoid the headache of having to deal with the incompetence and disorganisation that come with Hammonds.

I would give this company 0 stars if there was the option. I ordered my furniture in January and am still awaiting for it to be installed! The most unorganised company I have ever dealt with. Continuously changing my fit date last minute, fitters not turning up and office staff not doing what they say they will. £150 compensation is not suffice for the failed 11 attempts at fitting the furniture!! This company do not know what is going on and are so unreliable! Then to top it off, on there end they have the fit as completed so they can take payment!

I wanted an Office Room, thought it would be a good idea to use the space for fitted cupboards and storage. The designer chap was ok, made a good design for me.Work was set for11th March 2024,the order was placed in November, the fitter came on the day, but was unable to complete the installation owing to damaged door fronts and incorrect size and colour worktop. Had to re-order items that takes 10 days. Date was set for refit 26th March 2024, fitter never turned up.Numerous phone calls were made, but I was told he was still coming to me,but running late. The fitter never came.Trying get another date to finish the work, but you get so many excuses.Im not sure if its ever going to get completed at this rate, although I have paid for it up front, apart from £265.;the total was £2650.iI am in a state at home with stuff cluttering up other rooms waiting for this work to be completed.I have been very stressed out with it all. I am not blaming the fitter, but surely they had enough time to get the order correct, ready to install in March. I think it’s appalling behaviour from this company, I don’t know what to do, just keep pestering them, but they don’t seem bothered.

This is why I cannot in all good conscience recommend Hammonds....... We were firstly mislead by the Sales Consultant regarding the installation date which after paying our deposit was extended by 2-weeks. Not a complete travesty but nonetheless it was less than honourable. Hammonds automated communication service was excellent from the time of quotation through to the imminent arrival of the fitter. One week prior to the fitters arrival we received a text message confirming his arrival between 8am - 10am on day 1. The duration for the fitting was scheduled to last 2.6 days. On day 1, the fitter text at 8.30 to advise he would be arriving between 1pm - 2pm. Not what was agreed and somewhat frustrating because I had a booked a whole day off work. 2pm came and went as did 3, 4 & 5 - NO FITTER! NO EXPLANATION! I had been in touch with a lovely lady called Karen at Hammonds who had text me earlier on day 1 to introduce herself and advise she would be looking after me whilst my installation was underway. Karen appeared to be as frustrated as I when the fitter failed to arrive. She advised me he was not responding to their messages! No one even knew if he had collected the furniture from the Hammonds warehouse earlier that morning. But at 2pm it was closed and no-one could check. To cut a very long and frustrating story short, the fitter arrived on day 2 & 3 long after the time he advised us he would be arriving, he proceeded to work for 6-hours each day, leaving by 3pm and was often talking on his phone. Because he hadn't completed the work it was necessary to return on the Saturday taking up more of my time. As of today (7-days post installation), I have not received any contact from Hammonds to check if the fitter actually arrived on last Saturday and completed the work, to ask if I am happy with the installation, to apologise for the stress endured and the time that the fitter wasted or to apologise for eating into my Saturday! This is very poor customer service. The quality of the fit was very good however, I have previously used Sharps and Mark Baker Bespoken Wardrobes in previous homes where I had the equally good quality and the fitter arrived on time and finished in the time period agreed.

Hammonds are a dreadful organisation. They sold be a bedroom last April, a year on I am still with imcomplete room, wrong drawers, wardrobe to shallow to hang clothes, mirror bigger than the wall it was meant to hung on and numerous offensive calls, visits and threats., They have no intention of doing the right thing. They have no complaints procedure, they just out you back to the people you are complaining about. Worst still they have no concept of GDPR and don't think its an issue sharing other customers details (names/addresses/bankdetails). The regulator needs to investigate them and shut them down

One of the worst customer experiences I’ve come across. Took them months to fit furniture that was supposed to be completed in 1 visit. 3 visits from fitters - 3 weeks lost work and still couldn’t get the order right. Got a call to offer me £200 off a £14k bill to compensate - what a joke.

Hammonds are the worse company I have ever dealt with. They are appalling. We have been waiting for our understairs storage to be fitted from 6th December, and here we are, still waiting. We have had 3 joiner no-shows and 4 attempts to cut the door panels to size! They can't do it! But not only that, the lack of communication and customer care is cringeworthy, in fact it's exhausting. There is no focus on the customer, everything is based around what is best for Hammonds! The arrogance! I will never use Hammonds ever again!!!!
