“Great setup for a break, very clean and well decorated. Easy access, easy booking all round actually. Locked ourselves out but Host and Stay dealt with that very quickly and the Housekeeper popped round with the spare keys and let us back in. Could have been a minor disaster big shout out to the housekeeper for coming to the rescue!”

“Location was lovely, except for the unexpected hen party that went on until after 3am. Cottage itself was tired and the shower temperatures were totally unpredictable as in boiling hot or freezing cold instantly changing between the 2. Owner fixed a few issues very quickly.”

“We booked a house in Saltburn ran by Host & Stay. The house was lovely, as described and the owners came to chat us through things on arrival. The house was clean and well presented and had everything in it that we needed. Communication with Host & Stay was brilliant throughout the process and the houses guidebook was also really useful. Will definitely be looking to book through them again and will also be looking to go back to the house at some point!”

“We stayed at The Paddock in Netherton. It was brilliant! Amazing location surrounded by fields and nature. Very spacious accommodation, exceptionally clean and modern. Also the owners had thought of the little things, like I forgot milk but there were some little pots already in the fridge. It was honesty beautiful- thank you so much x”

“The Garden Flat is a lovely spacious property and had everything we needed. The location is in a quiet area and only a 10 minute walk to the seafront and town centre. We would recommend staying here and hope to visit again.”

“We stayed in a Host and Stay property in Alnwick. The town is absolutely lovely and within easy access of the jaw droppingly beautiful Northumberland Coast. If you fancy a visit, do go to Alnwick, but please stay anywhere but this property. I was contacted prior to arrival to request that I pay either a £25 insurance policy or an additional £250 with a £10 admin fee (it has not be explained what this charge is for). The £250 was to cover damage. I was not provided with information about accessing the property and had to telephone the Host and Stay call centre on the day of arrival for instructions. I have stayed in many different places, with Air BnB and other booking sites, and have never been asked to make such a payment. The request seemed out of touch with the market and inappropriate. I did however pay £250. We did not cause any damage. The £250, which was in addition to the cost of the property, has not be refunded. As such, I would advise everyone to avoid booking with Host and Stay at all costs.”

“Just had a fabulous stay in Hope Cottage Whitby. Accomodation was fabulous. Great decor, location perfect for local amenities and sites. Whole end to end experience was flawless and easy with host and stay who regularly made contact to check all was ok. Would highly recommend and definitely use again.”

“A really well located place , plenty of shops and eateries just around the corner . Nice and quiet area and didn’t struggle getting a parking space . Could have had another tv in the third bedroom and sofa could do with a quick clean but apart from that everything you need in this place really really enjoyed it here and wasn’t ready to leave , just a short walk into town centre . I would definitely book this again such a quirky beautiful place loved it”

“82G, Galgate, Barnarnard castle. My home town. 82G Galgate, Barnard castle. I booked for a special Birthday with family. On arrival the property had not been cleaned, called host an stay and they said they would send housekeeping the following day to clean it, I had to experience this over night, my Daughter was travelling the next day other wise I would have left. The cleaner arrived, she stayed 40mins, while in my presence she called the cleaning company she told them the property was really bad, there was still dog hair every where after she left, our clothes / bedroom / carpets, the shower had previous clients shower products left it had not been cleaned, I can go on an on. Pots an pans were dirty so we didn’t use them. As a owner of a holiday let myself, the service an after care from host an stay is appalling, I was offered the cleaning fee back, an now they are not answering calls or emails. Avoid this company the revues mirror mine.”

“The Highfield at Newton on the moor. Lovely roomy cottage. Great that the 3 main bedrooms had on-suite facilities and there was large bathroom as well. Lovely views across the fields to the sea from the lounge and the veranda. Great value. Best of all only yards away from a cracking pub with restaurant.”
