“Easy online booking with informative messages throughout. Prompt response to any questions raised and polite through out. The cottage was beautiful and very clean. There was enough utensils, crockery, instruction leaflets etc . We were in a quiet area and although not allowed to park ( full time) outside of the cottage we were provided with a visitors permit which we could use in adjacent streets. Ideal location for Alnwick, Seahouses and Bamburgh Castle”

“Paid for 2 nights for one of their properties in Holmfirth (Woodland View). Request for early access to the cottage denied. Found property with no problems. Well located and a lovely 30 minute walk into Holmfirth along the river bank. Cottage was OK but for the following: 1. Tv not working, said there was freeview with 70 channels and radio but could not access. TV listing saying not programmed. Rang Host&Stay all they said was tune in the TV, tried that 3xtimes but still didn't work. Had to stream netflex from own private account to get the TV with something to watch. 2. Kitchen only equipped with 4 of everything, which meant that you had to wash everything up before each meal to get any clean plates, would have been nice to have surplus plates, cutlery and crockery. 3. Radiators had peeling paint and nearly all the radiators were rusty on the top. 4. House not really cleaned. Thick dust on lamp shades, doors and skirting boards. Cobwebs and spiders in the corners of the ceiling. 5. Living room rug was dirty. Location was brilliant but don't think we will be using Host & Stay again.”

“I rented the Corner Cottage in Norwich for 5 nights and it was delightful! It was clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were very nice and the bedroom situated on the first floor had big floor to ceiling windows that allowed beautiful morning light. The corner view was also lovely to watch people coming and going. The bathroom fixtures worked well. The kitchen was well-equipped with the only exception being a corkscrew(this was mentioned in earlier reviews of the property). So, I purchased a cheap corkscrew - but a better replacement would be helpful. I also purchased and left at the property - a new frying pan - because the ones in the property were scratched and the coating looked unsafe. With those 2 exceptions the property was fantastic and I would definitely stay there again. Short walk to city centre - but also bus route nearby.”

“Communication was excellent from the moment we made our booking to the moment we left the house. The house had everything you could think of needing while staying away for a few days. Everything was so clean and tidy and organised. Really handy for the town centre and the beaches, we were really happy with our choice and would definitely recommend and return.”

“Host and Stay was very efficient with the booking information.and everything went smoothly. Arundel cottage in Whitby was absolutely fantastic. Own parking spot outside the cottage and inside was very clean and tastefully decorated. There was 3 adults all in separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It might have been a bit of a 'squeeze ' if there was 6 adults in the cottage though, and it's certainly not any good for disabled people. It was absolutely fine for us and it was well equipped with everything we needed. Location was great also with bus stops not far away, or a short 5 minute walk to the train and bus stations. There is a bit of a hill to walk back from the bus/ train station though but nothing too major. We would definitely go back to the cottage again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Whitby!”

“We booked a two-night stay at 7 Grove, Hartlepool through Host & Stay for £1,100 plus a damage deposit. Despite receiving promotional emails days before, we were not informed the property had been cancelled. After hours stranded with young children (two with additional needs), we were forced into a last-minute replacement that was totally unsuitable — lacking all the key facilities we booked for, and with serious health and safety issues (chemical smells, dead bees, broken flooring). Financially, the experience was a disaster: • £1,100 paid for the original booking (no refund yet) • £280 paid for an extra night due to a medical emergency (forced, not by choice) • £686 was taken from my account without permission (only refunded after I chased them) • Damage deposit still not returned • Food spoiled, extra fuel costs incurred, and a birthday celebration ruined Host & Stay’s only offer has been a discount toward a future stay — completely unacceptable after such a breach of contract, emotional distress, and financial loss. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Extremely poor customer service, serious mishandling of our booking, and complete lack of accountability. Proceed with extreme caution.”

“The maisonette is of a very high standard. Completely contemporary. All mod cons. Very warm and comfortable. It is situated in a very accessible part of Harrogate, for restaurants and shops, near to Bettys. We did enjoy our stay very much. But not allowed in until 4 pm and having to leave by 10:00 am made the time there over two days quite short. The patio area although very nice it also has loose wooden tiles outside the door making it rather dangerous for my elderly mother. I hadn’t realised that there was also a steep staircase to the bathrooms and bedrooms. Fine for fit people. Overall a lovely place. I would recommend as Harrogate is delightful. The parking also easy with the carpark just outside of the door.”

“wonderful 1 bedroom apartment in York. Location couldn't have been nicer, great view of the city walls, quiet, immaculate and cozy place with all the amenities you could need. Very good communication, ease of entry, checkin/checkout. All 5 stars! Loved Feversham house. :)”

“We stayed in Whitby at a beautiful holiday cottage. It's one of the nicest holiday cottages we've stayed at and in the most central location.(And we've stayed in a lot over the years!) Really high standard, like a luxury break but at a reasonable cost. Great communication at all times. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks for a wonderful stay.”
