“Terrible management company. Probably manage too many properties or only really know about certain locations so don't really care if 1 or 2 do poorly. All properties were well-managed and doing well until the company I was using was bought out by Hostand stay. They used terrible cleaners that didn't clean or take care of the properties resulting in them being taken off AirBnB due to poor reviews which I wasn't informed of. They ignored my complaints about the cleaning company and it took me 7+ months to change the cleaners and then they stopped communicating with the new cleaners not allowing them to know when guests were staying. The errors made, lack of communication and poor management are too many to list here. I could probably write a book. I would recommend doing yourself or use any management company other than these.”

“Horrific experience with host & stay. Still waiting for a complaint to be resolved from Sept 30th 2025. Have asked several times for a manager to call me and absolutely nothing. We stayed in a house in Brighton, with our 10 month old baby, the heating didn’t work, so we were all freezing. There was no logs for the fire (which was advertised on the listing), the rep from host & stay advised us to buy a wood stove and keep the receipt!?!? Host & Stay very promptly then changed their listing, so it no longer says log provided (screenshots have been sent). Lastly on our confirmation email it said we had to vacate the property by 11am on the morning of our departure - the morning came and we had a text stating we had to leave by 10am. So a very rushed unplanned morning with a baby. Before host & stay have an opportunity to reply on here - they have emailed me offering a £55 refund, to which I have said is totally unacceptable and asked a manager to call me again (3rd request) - still waiting from 11th November. Avoid at all costs!”

“Disgusting behaviour. I booked an apartment via booking.com with this company, but despite cancelling well within the " free cancellation period" this company will not give me my £289 back. Repeated attempts to contact them and to ask for my refund just falls on deaf ears. Constantly being fobbed off . BEWARE WHEN YOU BOOK”

“An owners Perspective on Host & Stays letting service. In a word, “Avoid” this company when considering letting your property. The initial sales side is slick and professional, but the service delivery is pretty dismal by comparison, particularly when sold as a “premium” service. We were first-timers to the letting market and were initially impressed with the offering as portrayed by the salesperson that we met at our property. They promised a hassle-free high-end service for owners who want to rent their properties with a minimum of personal involvement. We signed up to their “premium” service at a net cost of 18% commission (VAT inclusive). We have been with them since the end of June and unfortunately have experienced a very poor service offering from them, and it has proven to be anything but hassle-free. Despite endless notes of apology and acceptance of our frustrations and their mistakes, it continued to the point where we had recently had enough and suggested we agree to part ways by mutual consent and put the engagement with them down to experience. We agreed to honour existing bookings but said no more were to be taken. At that point, they suggested we were bound to stick with them for the balance of the contract and notice period despite all the shortcomings, so trying to bind us into a continuing negative experience with them when we had already become totally exasperated. I find it somewhat rich to be told that notwithstanding the fundamental failures and mistakes that were made, we were now tied into that on a continuing basis. Needless to say, I’m not accepting that but thought I ought to warn others not to be taken in by the sales offering when the reality is very different to that. It has unfortunately spoilt our experience and will make us very circumspect in the future. Our rental guests were also critical as to their dealings with Host & Stay citing “rudeness” and a failure to communicate.”

“This company be leave the pictures below are acceptable. They ignore your complaints and promise they will look into the issues but don't. The property was unfit for purpose,dirty with broken furniture. Host and stay are the worst company I have ever used. Please keep away if you don't want your stay ruined.”

“The apartment at whitby driftwood was clean & well presented however there was no hand wash in kitchen or bathroom the water pressure was really poor & the shower head was full of limescale so did not function well. There was no wash up liquid & only 1 dishwasher tablet we ate out other than breakfast so there was not really enough to load dishwasher but we did as no liquid. we were advised by you that cliff st car park was nearest however this is only short stay so we had to keep going back to top parking up. I feel the cost of the stay was over priced for the experience .”

“We stayed at Eller Beck Egton a stunning spacious lodge beautiful decked area with seating. The beds were comfy and the lodge was clean. Just a couple of minor point's there was no tea towel , a lamp would be good in the living area for a cosier ambience at night. Everything else was perfect thankyou.”

“The property could be so nice. Good sized rooms and quirky layout. Location ideal near the town and river. Cleanliness and shabbiness really let it down. Couldn’t use the kettle as needed descaling. Fat left in the bottom of a baking tray covered by tin foil. The garden could have been so lovely. Except covered everywhere in bird dirt on the table and chairs. Furniture so rusty you could damage your clothes.”

“My family and i stayed in Crackin View last weekend and it was fabulous, honestly such a gorgeous place. The home itself is beautiful and spacious and sleeps up to 20! It has a fab indoor warm swimming pool and sauna is a bonus. Outside the garden is fab for the kids. Plenty of space to run round and sit and chill. The property is clean and well looked after. It has everything you need when cooking for a large group. The lounge is fab with a very large couch. Perfect to come together and relax. We cant wait to book again. Would highly recommend!”

“Lovely little apartment. Everything we needed for our short stay. Clean and well appointed. Great booking service. Great watching the cricket and practice too🙏 Only comment I would make is that a little more space for groceries in the kitchen would be good and perhaps invest in new pillows. However that certainly isn’t a complaint. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. We would certainly book with you again.”

“We a party of 4 stayed at the Even Keel Whitby for three nights. We found the booking system easy to follow and was informative. We found the apartment very modern and clean and had all the utensils and crockery required. The bedding and towels were clean and luxurious. The onside parking was a huge bonus. Our only slight disappointment was that we didn't have access to the balcony which was in a bit of a mess. We would recommend your company and properties and will certainly would return and try different locations”

“We stayed at Parkside Villa in Harrogate for a couple of nights…. We couldn’t fault the place ! The house is perfect for a girls trip with everything you need and more. The location is excellent with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby 👍”
