“We stayed at The Grange (The Pheasantry), Flamborough. The property has many positive qualities. The interior design is tasteful and comfortable. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. There were 3 bathrooms with good showers. The hot tub and garden was private and good for our dogs. The location is ideal to explore Flamborough and the surrounding area. Their coastline and landscape are stunning. The Pheasantry is connected by a door to the adjoining Farmhouse property (sleeps 15). You can hear everything through the door/wall. The x3 lots of guests weren’t particularly loud, but conversations, scraping of plates and general kids noise were all heard. It made me feel that equally the guests next door would be able to hear us, and that made me feel uncomfortable. When the cleaners arrived on Friday to clean the farmhouse I could hear their music and at one point a belting rendition of Belinda Carlisle’s 80’s classic, “Heaven is a place on earth”!!! This was in some part entertaining, but served to show that better soundproofing is needed between the properties. An issue for us was also the poor quality laminate floor which was fitted downstairs. This made such a noise when my dogs were walking on it. It would have been good to have had some rugs to lessen the effect of a hard floor and the noise created. The house was clean to a large extent but attention needs to paid around windows and doorways where there were an abundance of dead flies. The property is billed as luxury but for me it fell just short, which is a shame because it has tremendous potential.”

“We stayed at Rockpool Scarborough unfortunately the uncleanliness of the bathroom marred our trip the toilet pan was brown stained with a thick crust of? ??? Between the toilet cistern and pan the sink taps were thick with black gunge around their base the shower curtain had wet red mildew around it and there was an infestation of large bluebottles, the bath was dirty and the slip mat was also dirty . The whole of the bathroom needs replacing , will not be returning and its very unlikely that I would be a Host and Stay guest again .I have stayed in Airbnb places all over the country and also abroad ,and have never had such poor accommodation”

“We stayed at the Hideaway in Scarborough. Location perfect as so central, and views from top floor really make this accommodation as fabulous!! Accommodation is spacious, tidy, mostly maintained (top floor decking flacked off on our feet and moss all along glass balustrade needed removing) but really comfortable for 4 of us. Parking disc supplied so that helped and we got a spot (albeit a little manouvering needed for a long car) every day so great. Top floor room has no curtains so no lie in as bright light flooding in from the early hours. I think curtains/blinds would made this room excellent (plus some storage/hanging space even if limited would be beneficial as none aside from in lower bedrooms which we used but not ideal). Carpet on stairs hardwearing but that means rough underfoot so take some slippers and you'll be fine and also obviously difficult to hoover which showed a little. Finally having to pay the Superhog every booking even when a 2 year member feels wrong. I did get a refund after many (many) emails driven by myself chasing (and chasing) the refund and then chasing access information for the property whivh I got 24 hours before arrival after chasing. So would much prefer all fees in the total price. Personal preference.”

“Myself and my friend from New Zealand stayed at the Ramblers Rest Cottage in Greenhead. Beautiful cosy cottage with fabulous views. Very clean and comfortable.”

“The location of the home is spectacular. There are stores, pubs, and public transportation right around the corner. This feels like a very new property and with a couple of small and easy fixes, this is going to be a 5-star place that will rent for WAY more than we got it for. I highly recommend this property!”

“Abbey Hus in a good central location although it was a little difficult to find at first. The place was clean and tidy on arrival, basic modern accommodation-not the most comfortable furniture but ok for a short stay to use as a base.The entrance to the building is tight and the stairs are very steep which might be a problem for some guests. We experienced a bit of noise from the occupants of the other apartments and from the street but all in all the stay was good.”

“Had a fabulous weekend at Maritime Apt 5, Scarborough even though weather was not good. Apartment was absolutely fantastic.. Superb decor, everywhere spotless. Plenty of equipment in kitchen, beautiful fluffy bathroom towels. Couldn't fault any of it. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Host & Stay kept in touch throughout, friendly and first class service.”

“Three of us stayed in Captain Loft at Whitby for 2 nights. The place was clean and at a good location. However we didn’t know it was on the third floor with lots of stairs to negotiate. It would be appreciated by people with accessibility issues if this was mentioned in the booking. There was no WiFi access. There were only 4 tea bags, 4 instant coffee sachets and one small sachet of shampoo, one small sachet of body wash to share between three of us for 2 nights. Hope the next guests could get a little more generous supplies.”

“We recently stayed at The Madison which is one of the Prospect Hill Apartments in Whitby. We cannot recommend this place highly enough! Location was excellent, the apartment itself was beautiful and everything was immaculate. We will be going back again.”

“Cosy cottage comfortable well placed for town centre&beech loveley beds well equipped kitchen stairs a bit steepe but didn’t bother us garden could do with a make over for somewhere to sit out all n all9/10”

“10/10 Lovely apartment with all the amenities provided. Great patio area for outdoor activities & enjoying outdoor meals. Just around the corner from the harbour. I would highly recommend a stay at the apartment when visiting Whitby & the surrounding area.”

“Great setup for a break, very clean and well decorated. Easy access, easy booking all round actually. Locked ourselves out but Host and Stay dealt with that very quickly and the Housekeeper popped round with the spare keys and let us back in. Could have been a minor disaster big shout out to the housekeeper for coming to the rescue!”

“Location was lovely, except for the unexpected hen party that went on until after 3am. Cottage itself was tired and the shower temperatures were totally unpredictable as in boiling hot or freezing cold instantly changing between the 2. Owner fixed a few issues very quickly.”
