Just stayed in a Host & Stay apartment for the first and would certainly recommend them based on our experience. The apartment was lovely - very contemporary in style and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and comfortable also and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff in the office were also very helpful when I phoned with some queries and I received regular communication from the office both before and during our stay.

Immediately after booking (payment was to be made in full) I was then asked to pay either £250 or £25 insurance against any damages. I called the company who stated that this was on the booking information (I’ve since checked the booking info, posing as a new possible booking, it definitely isn’t there). Had I know about this before booking I would not have used Host and Stay. I had an issue with the shower not working and spent an entire day replying to texts from host and stay about the shower, not what I wanted to be doing on holiday. They had me leaving my keys in the key safe so a workman could get in, the work man never arrived. On the note of the key safe, it’s guess work to find the right one, there a several outside the main door, none of which marked as the one for the booked apartment. My advice is avoid host and stay properties! I will never use them again!

Booked with them via Booking.com first and they were Brilliant. First class service. Kept me informed all they way through and were there if needed anything down to them hand delivering an extra scratch card for parking. The accommodation was just like the description and pictures. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked again with them direct

BEWARE, HOST & STAY/SUPERHOG are not at all interested in you as a customer/paying guest. They state that they act as agents for the owners, that the owners ask them to make sure you take out ‘damage waiver’ for which they charge you £25 or take £250 which can be held for 28 days and for which they charge a £10 admin fee, however it is their methods that are questionable. Their emails which are duplicated by Booking.Com and for me number around fifty (50) in which they initially advise you, then demand action followed by threatening emails in which they state that your ‘check in instructions’ will not be sent until you have completed their verification process. For that they need your name, address, postcode, home telephone number, mobile number. Email address, date and place of birth, copy of driving licence/council tax bill and other sensitive information. If this is not supplied, again they threaten to withhold check in instructions and cancel your booking, for which you will not receive a refund. When you do converse with Host & Stay either by email or telephone, you might speak with, Lynzi, Sian, Eliza, Charlene, Ewna, Jennifer, Ewan or Ryan, there reply will be, “Thank You for reaching out to us” or “We'll have this coordinated with the relative department and get back to you as soon as we can”, BUT THEY NEVER DO. THEY DO NOT WANT TO ASSIST PAYING CUSTOMERS AT ALL. If your property is not as advertised or there is a problem when you arrive, don’t bother contacting them, as your reply will not address the problems, as they will state, “ we have reached out to the owners” or similar. And the next email will state, “ Remember our housekeeping team will arrive shortly after the check-out time and will need immediate access to prepare the property for our next guests. Please note that any late departures are subject to additional charges as per our terms and conditions. So Host & Stay appear to have many staff, yet Companies House say they have ZERO employees, so you then see the link to Manhatten Property Management Limited and on your payments to ‘Stripe’ and of course Superhog. I feel sorry for the owners because I’m unsure whether they are aware of the tactics of these companies, but then again when you look at your costs, you see it is itemised as, Accomodation charge, Cleaning fee & Service Charge. Why not one payable amount ?. Also if you look at the first reviews of the properties, most of the people reviewing haven’t stayed at the premises, they simply state how good the premises are for local sights, amenities etc and their comments are backed up by someone called ‘ Stay N ’. My belief and there is evidence, that it is the owners and Host & Stay utilising pseudonyms. So to sum up, My review would be that I urge you to give ‘Host & Stay’ and any of their inhouse/other companies a very wide birth. I for one will not use any property that they manage and I would say to any owners who are reading this, DO NOT USE THEM.

Appalling customer service from this agency, to resolve an issue of no bedding/towels. As a group of 10 & a dog, we were just advised to contact Air BnB, find another property and move out at 1800. Host & Stay offered compensation in the form of a discount off a future booking, but it was a worthless gesture as they could not offer a property to sleep 10 in the whole of Northumberland. A County Court Judgment was obtained against Host & Stay and they finally paid over the requested compensation. Always check who the agent of the property is and if it is Host & Stay, Saltburn-then think twice about booking with them.

“Stayed numerous times in the same apartment in Whitby and all was perfect. Clean, well maintained, spacious and warm (as we go in winter!). Also great communication from Host & Stay.

We stayed at Signal House, Whitby between Christmas and New Year. It was a Fab place. Exactly as advertised and in just the right location to town. The only issue we had was the ensuite to the top bedroom wasn't the best, could do with sorting out.

We stayed in the Blacksmiths, Warkworth, late August. Loved the location of the property, the decor and facilities offered by the host all very welcoming. Lovely spacious place to stay with great local facilities in town. Parking was always easy to find on the road around the corner. The flat was all on one floor which I wasn't expecting but worked even better. The property is on the main road through Warkworth and both bedrooms are on the front so there is noise from the road pretty much all the time. As a light sleeper, I was worried I wouldn't sleep but after a couple of nights, I got used to the road noise and slept well. We found the key safe and all useful information easily and would definitely recommend.

The house we stayed in was absolutely fantastic, interiors were to a really high spec so felt like such a luxury but at a really reasonable price. The owner was really lovely, he was really helpful with advice about the area and left a lovely cheese board at the house for us which was a lovely touch. Nothing was too much trouble. Booking through the website was really quick and easy, would definitely use again!

We as a family had always stayed at hotels or in caravans for over 20 years. I was searching for some where diferent and came across a full apartment to rent in York I decided this would be perfect for a short holiday to take my brother away as he had not been away on holiday for many years. I showed him the pics of The Host and Stay apartment in York so I booked up. Once we arrived in York we were truly blown away by the accommodation the whole apartment was absolutely out of this world my brother enjoyed his stay that much he did not want to go home. This inspired us to have more holidays using Host and Stay which we used again in Scarborough different family members but again over the moon with the accommodation and we have booked up for another Host and Stay in York to impress our brother visiting us from Australia. We cant wait for this holiday and of course there will be many more fantastic holidays being booked with Host and Stay. We are extremely glad we came across this company well done to you all involved.

Everything about Columbo cottage was exceptional, from the welcome box, to the decor, to the appliances even down to the crockery in the cupboard and the cutlery in the drawer. Every detail shows what thought has gone into it. One of our children left a soft toy behind and we received a phone call to notify us and that it was waiting at the cottage for collection. Absolutely first-rate accommodation and we have recommended it to many friends and family - we will certainly be back to stay again. There is nowhere else we would want to stay in Whitby!
