What a lovely place . Tasteful decor and a number of extra touches that were appreciated . No on site parking but found free parking close to the property. Great base to explore Whitby and the surrounding countryside/ coastal locations

Razorbill Cottage - Flamborough Spacious property for a one bed Convenient location Mostly peaceful but there are chickens in the allotments next door, who wake up at 4am Good handy dog walk 2 mins from property Definitely needs shelving for toiletries, in the bathroom, they had to be placed on the top of the WC Needs hooks or chair also for robe/clothing

Beautiful house, great location in Pickering, parking was hit and miss, property could have been cleaner on arrival, garden table and chairs needed a good clean before we could use them!!!

Very nice place, obviously just refurbished beautifully. Host and stay very helpful with emails and instructions. Location was great, only a few minutes walk from Whitby centre.

Absolutely beautiful apartment, clean, comfortable with everything you required for an enjoyable stay. The location was so central and enjoyed every minute. Would definitely go back.

Property 82G,Galgate, Barnard castle it had not been cleaned from previous holiday guest, complained an they didn’t want to know, don’t book anything with this company, I’ve since done a lot of Internet search and most people say the same thing.

We stayed at Ruby Riftswood in Saltburn. This is the ground floor apartment and has everything you need. A beautifully set out place. We would definitely stay again, but the mattress is absolutely solid and not comfortable, if I went again I would take a mattress topper. Other than that it really is a lovely place to stay.

Great Habton Cottage for 28 June 2023 - 30 June 2023 The accommodation was nice, the decor nice, location good. Sink in bathroom a little high for kids - water tap marking in bathroom was incorrectly marked and fitted = warm was cold, cold was warm (my opinion warm should always be left but markings were the opposite in any case, the toilet was loose, internet was really poor. overall good place and would stay again.

We were told it was on one level to the door it happened to be two steps we were told plenty of parking outside not so always struggled to find a place the place was not bad but steps into various rooms the hot water stoped working We had to call them in they came and also replaced the light bulbs that were out Chipped plates not enough glasses very disappointed in the place at the price

Just read reviews and decided to cancel a booking I thought that I had actually made to Booking.com. Yes you are “bombed” with e mails including asking for £250 AFTER you have completed your booking. I actually e mailed Host and Stay with a query and never received a reply. On speaking to Host and Stay they informed me that it is self checking and out. They honestly could not understand that I would want someone to agree any damages/ conditions of property with myself at start and end of the booking. “ We check the property and any damages after you have left” I was told. Oh Yeah! I presume there is an opportunity there to levy a charge against whoever they wish. I am disappointed Booking. Com are using a company sych as this. AVOID!

The apartment was nice but will never use any accommodation run by Host & Stay ever again. Absolutely peppered by emails before and during our stay. Wanted £250 bond but, if we didn't damage anything they'd be good enough to return £240 of it a keep £10 themselves. Accommodation included Free Parking for the duration of our stay through a scratch card system. We scratched the card perfectly and parked exactly where informed. but still ended up with a parking ticket because they'd provided us with the WRONG scratch card. I phoned up and they admitted their mistake, sending a new one over to our accommodation a little to late) and told me to email the ticket to them. I emailed it over to them and the squirming started. Apparently T&C's state I should know it was the wrong permit and inform them. I have no idea how I should know its the wrong permit as I've never used one before. Basically they made a simple mistake but refused to do the decent thing pay the fine. Never again. If i owned a holiday rental property I wouldn't use Host & Stay as my management company

I have not even been there yet, just beware as there hidden charges.. if you decide to leave them deposit, they need to hold £250 of your money but you don’t get back the deposit as they have a fee of £10 so you will only get back £240. Alternatively you can pay £25 that you don’t get back and that means that you have a damage weaver for up to £500. So when you think that you booked paid and done be aware ! You don’t ! After your booking you will be getting emails to pay even though it’s not straightforward so they will make you confused and agitated 😡

Just stayed in a Host & Stay apartment for the first and would certainly recommend them based on our experience. The apartment was lovely - very contemporary in style and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and comfortable also and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff in the office were also very helpful when I phoned with some queries and I received regular communication from the office both before and during our stay.

Immediately after booking (payment was to be made in full) I was then asked to pay either £250 or £25 insurance against any damages. I called the company who stated that this was on the booking information (I’ve since checked the booking info, posing as a new possible booking, it definitely isn’t there). Had I know about this before booking I would not have used Host and Stay. I had an issue with the shower not working and spent an entire day replying to texts from host and stay about the shower, not what I wanted to be doing on holiday. They had me leaving my keys in the key safe so a workman could get in, the work man never arrived. On the note of the key safe, it’s guess work to find the right one, there a several outside the main door, none of which marked as the one for the booked apartment. My advice is avoid host and stay properties! I will never use them again!

Booked with them via Booking.com first and they were Brilliant. First class service. Kept me informed all they way through and were there if needed anything down to them hand delivering an extra scratch card for parking. The accommodation was just like the description and pictures. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked again with them direct

BEWARE, HOST & STAY/SUPERHOG are not at all interested in you as a customer/paying guest. They state that they act as agents for the owners, that the owners ask them to make sure you take out ‘damage waiver’ for which they charge you £25 or take £250 which can be held for 28 days and for which they charge a £10 admin fee, however it is their methods that are questionable. Their emails which are duplicated by Booking.Com and for me number around fifty (50) in which they initially advise you, then demand action followed by threatening emails in which they state that your ‘check in instructions’ will not be sent until you have completed their verification process. For that they need your name, address, postcode, home telephone number, mobile number. Email address, date and place of birth, copy of driving licence/council tax bill and other sensitive information. If this is not supplied, again they threaten to withhold check in instructions and cancel your booking, for which you will not receive a refund. When you do converse with Host & Stay either by email or telephone, you might speak with, Lynzi, Sian, Eliza, Charlene, Ewna, Jennifer, Ewan or Ryan, there reply will be, “Thank You for reaching out to us” or “We'll have this coordinated with the relative department and get back to you as soon as we can”, BUT THEY NEVER DO. THEY DO NOT WANT TO ASSIST PAYING CUSTOMERS AT ALL. If your property is not as advertised or there is a problem when you arrive, don’t bother contacting them, as your reply will not address the problems, as they will state, “ we have reached out to the owners” or similar. And the next email will state, “ Remember our housekeeping team will arrive shortly after the check-out time and will need immediate access to prepare the property for our next guests. Please note that any late departures are subject to additional charges as per our terms and conditions. So Host & Stay appear to have many staff, yet Companies House say they have ZERO employees, so you then see the link to Manhatten Property Management Limited and on your payments to ‘Stripe’ and of course Superhog. I feel sorry for the owners because I’m unsure whether they are aware of the tactics of these companies, but then again when you look at your costs, you see it is itemised as, Accomodation charge, Cleaning fee & Service Charge. Why not one payable amount ?. Also if you look at the first reviews of the properties, most of the people reviewing haven’t stayed at the premises, they simply state how good the premises are for local sights, amenities etc and their comments are backed up by someone called ‘ Stay N ’. My belief and there is evidence, that it is the owners and Host & Stay utilising pseudonyms. So to sum up, My review would be that I urge you to give ‘Host & Stay’ and any of their inhouse/other companies a very wide birth. I for one will not use any property that they manage and I would say to any owners who are reading this, DO NOT USE THEM.

Appalling customer service from this agency, to resolve an issue of no bedding/towels. As a group of 10 & a dog, we were just advised to contact Air BnB, find another property and move out at 1800. Host & Stay offered compensation in the form of a discount off a future booking, but it was a worthless gesture as they could not offer a property to sleep 10 in the whole of Northumberland. A County Court Judgment was obtained against Host & Stay and they finally paid over the requested compensation. Always check who the agent of the property is and if it is Host & Stay, Saltburn-then think twice about booking with them.
