“Purchased expensive cream for my mum Christmas present. She opened it on the 27th and the box was empty - the pot of cream had been taken and stuffed with paper! They won’t do anything - says item has been delivered! Stay away”

“It's fraud company, avoid shopping especially online. I returned my products via paid courier but they rejected my return and did not refund my money about £145. I should read a review before buying from the HOF. Anyhow learned my lesson will not buying again and spread around.”

“HoF sent the wrong item. Twice. Each time the onus completely was on me to package up, print return labels and queue in the post office to return (the week before Xmas - You can imagine what that was like I’m sure!). Was ordered for a birthday in November and here I am on 28th December still with nothing at all to show. Was told I had to just reorder myself - once I’d waited 14 days after receipt of the returned item for them to check it before they'd refund me (the item I didn’t order and didn’t want, and incidentally was considerably cheaper than the item I’d actually ordered). No exchange. No apology. No ‘we messed up and sent the wrong thing, let’s rectify this and get the goods you ordered out to you asap and you send back the wrong goods in x days (otherwise we’ll charge (which I would have thought perfectly acceptable)). How do they think it’s acceptable to hold the goods I paid for in full back in November hostage while they check the rubbish they actually sent out, is acceptable customer service? Consequently missed not only the birthday the item was a present for, but also Christmas now. No way to actually speak to a person. Just chat or messenger. Sent two emails but both just closed down. Every time I say I want to make a formal complaint it’s ignored. No updates unless I chase and then it’s hours or days between single messages, and even then no apology. Just reiterating their ridiculous procedure that I need to do all the work to send back their error. All they are concerned with is getting back the reduced rubbish they posted out. Even said they’d knock 10% off if I wanted to keep the item they sent in error - which was a good 22% lower in value than I’d paid! Unbelievable!!”

“Thieves!!!! You buy an item, it doesn’t fit, they give you a credit note. You’ve paid for delivery and return but you can’t get your money back. I returned an item bought on line which was unsuitable. I returned it in the correct time but have been given a credit. Don’t buy from House of Fraser !”

“Truly abysmal customer service. Refused to give me a refund on items that were not delivered, and they know have not been delivered. The second you ask to make a complaint, they cut you off the online chat. I cannot believe what HOF have become. I will never shop with them again. I’ve tried email, Facebook, twitter and online chat to resolve this, and nobody is interested. You tell them not to cut you off, yet they ignore you. Horrific”

“Scam company, won't buy from them again. Bought some trainers that looked ugly and fake, returned them straight away but after 2 months they haven't processed the refund and they are ignoring my emails. I'm afraid I've been scammed of £190.”

“Sadly I wish I had read these reviews before I bought my item, they also use Evri as a courier , forget phone numbers these companys do not use them , they would be ringing 24/7 they have delivered my item somewhere but no one knows where , you fill in forms send dozens of emails by end up wasting your time and the lesson cost me £150 pitiful company,”

“Worst customer service ever. No one to ring and speak to. 33 days after ordering my items half of them haven’t arrived and they are refusing refund. I am owed £150 and in contact every day asking for its refund. Every day they “escalate’ and never get back to me. Awful. Awful. Awful.”

“I bought an item on line for £150 but the item was not suitable so I returned it the store and was forced to accept a credit note even though I returned the item within the cooling off period in perfect condition with receipts. I was told by the shop assistant that I couldn’t have a refund and would have to accept a credit note as House of Fraser don’t give refunds. I was told there was no other option. They have there product back but have kept my money. I have been back to the store several times and have looked on line to buy something but haven’t managed to find anything I want. I feel totally ripped off, House of Fraser are cheats and thieves, I will never buy from them again.”

“It's about Frazer Plus. Please avoid. Fraud company very dodge. I was missed my payment they defaulted my account when I contact them after many attempt they reassure me if I pay it won't go to default. I've paid the same day and request to clear my account. They said my account have already been defaulted. What are liars. Please avoid if you come it runs by strange fraud people”

“Received a broken item. I tried to find a telephone number for customer services but apparently no such thing exists. Automated help service is useless. Send email 2 days ago but have heard nothing. Looks like I’m going to have to return at my expense and hopefully receive a refund.”

“Oh how the mighty have fallen. Scammed by house of Fraser. Ordered an item almost two weeks ago and no delivery and still no refund after telling me my order had been cancelled. Have a feeling they’re going bankrupt soon and are stealing money for cash flow. Absolute scammers and a shadow of their former glory . Avoid avoid do not buy”
