Bought 8 inserts that were to cut down on my road noise. I live about 80 feet from a 4 lane road. One thing I didn't like about the company was after me telling them I would not be able to meet the driver due to the road traffic and me being a senior who has had 4 left knee surgeries the driver was never told about the road and my condition. The driver was nice enough to meet me at a Kohls's parking lot and he and my buddy got the inserts in our pickup. The wait for them to be finished was almost 3 months. The noise is reduced by about 65%. Still hear motorcycles and trucks with loud mufflers like before. After paying $2600 one would wish for more.

Glenn, Thank yu for reaching out. While we are happy to her that the sound is being reduced within the 50-70% demonstrated in our independent tests, we share your concern about the devliery complications. The current strained state of shipping has left many gaps in communication. We have worked hard to fill in these gaps and provide solutions for our customers. Our customer serrvice department actively worked with you and the shipping company on this devliery. We understand that the result required additional arrangements by you and the shipper to make it work. We appreciate the necessary efforts, but undertsand that it was not exactly as expected. We will continue to work to improve all aspects fo our business, inlcuding providing more flexible shipping options. We appreicate your engagement with us. It provides valuable feedback for us to address such concerns. Thanks again.

They’re likely the best made acrylic window inserts you’ll find, but the price and lead time make them not worth it. I put a competitor’s product at 25% of the price and two weeks delivery schedule in the rooms that couldn’t wait the 3.5 months it took Indows to deliver, and I’m 75% as satisfied, so make of that what you will.

Hunter, Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate the recognition of the craftsmanship and certainly acknowledge that the persistent pandemic-related supply chain issues affected a great many customers. We are glad that we are now seeing gradual improvement in lead times as the situation improves. We, of course, stand by our product as a great value, especially considering the limited lifetime warranty they come with. They are designed with durability and lifelong performance in mind. Thanks again for your business and for taking the time to write the review.

The inserts fit well but kind of disappointed about the level of noise reduction they provide and the thickness of the acoustic insert. I have 2 inches of gap in the window but Hasn’t reduced noise much.

Aaron, Thanks for the feedback. All sound situations are unique and provide challenges. While we are happy to troubleshoot the fit to ensure you are maximizing the performance, we acknowledge that some sound situations require other soundproofing measures in conjunction with our inserts. Our acoustic grade's thickness (nominally 1/4") is designed to maximize sound reduction properties while maintining the light weight for ease of handling and fitting. Thanks again for the review. Feel free to reach out regarding any troubleshooting.

I have lived with the inserts for a few weeks now. I can't say the sound reduction has been significant. The sound of a basketball hasn't really been reduced. I fear for summer and cornhole as they probably won't help with that sound. It is disappointing considering the cost involved.

Jennifer, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction that you expected. All sound situations are unique and sometimes sounds can enter through other areas than the window openings. That said, we would be happy to troubleshoot the fit of the inserts to ensure you are maximizing the performance.

I can't tell you yet because I have not received them. Three stars for hope alone. Been waiting 6 months.

Irene, Thanks for reaching out. We understand your concern. We successfully sent your order to your dealer on 12/8. We are actively working with your dealer to help facilitate communication regarding your order. Thank you for your patience.

The product itself is great, but the dealer I used- Darren O'Brien of Big Red Builders was terrible. Shalen Parker of Indow was helpful, he at least apologized for the terrible service and misinformation I was getting. I always thought someone somewhere along the line should have offered a discount or something- there was never any material offer to make the situation right.

Although I received the acoustic quality of inserts, I would rate the effectiveness at about 2.5. It does seem to somewhat muffle the noise level of normal conversation but not to the level of satisfaction considering the amount I paid and the length of time I waited. I did follow the installation instructions and video very closely. I am impressed with the insulating qualities and the fit to each window. The secure shipping was impressive and appreciated but wasn't happy that there was no assistance offered by the deliverer to bring the huge parcel inside, acting on your instructions, the driver claimed. I did see on the video that other customers were hauling in the parcel in themselves and I think you should make this clear that it is a requirement you are alone as far as bringing in the delivery yourself so you can arrange for help or plan on opening the parcel and bringing in the Indows piece by piece.

Michael, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction performance that you were expecting. All sound situations are indeed unique. Sometimes, due to sound entering through other areas than the window openings, further soundproofing techniques are necessary to reduce the sound. We are, of course, willing to troubleshoot with you to ensure that the noise reduction properties of the inserts are maximized. We understand that the extended lead times caused by unprecedented supply chain issues have had an impact on customers. While we now have begun to see optimistic indicators in the supply chain, customers who ordered during a certain period experienced greater delays. Throughout, we have remained committed to communicating those delays through frequent updates to our customers. While we include detailed information about the delivery service in our shipping emails and other communications, we acknowledge that certain aspects of the shipping process can present challenges. As always, we will use your feedback to help us continue to improve. Thank you for mentioning the build quality, accurate fit, and insulating qualities of our inserts. We take great pride in our craftsmanship and accurate measuring process.

The corners on all of the inserts do not fit correctly into the window frame. They are all smooshed together and do not seal as pictured or as expected.

Krista, Thanks for the feedback. We are happy to troubleshoot any fit issues with you, as our inserts do come with a SnugFit guarantee. We have reached out to help facilitate this. As the proper fit of our inserts is an integral part of their performance, we will work to get this issue resolved for you.

I thought the Indows would block more of the noise since it's advertised as 70% noise reduction. After having several days with the inserts I'd say the noise level has been reduced only by about 25%.

Sandy, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the noise reduction you expected. It is true that, based upon independent tests, our tests have been proven to reduce 50%-70% over single-pane windows alone. However, all sound environments are indeed different as are the different sounds/sound frequencies each customer is wishing to mitigate. Variables such as construction materials in walls can make the sound issue more complicated, with sounds entering through areas other than the windows. We are happy to assist in troubleshooting your inserts to ensure they are fitting properly and that you are maximizing their noise reduction properties. If you are indeed looking for further noise reduction, other soundproofing methods that address areas other than the window openings may be necessary.

This a DYI process from start to finish, and I have yet to finish. I ordered 16 inserts, I wish I had not. The amount of time and energy to measure the windows not once, but twice to assure accuracy is tiring. A 225 lb crate arrived, that the freight driver would only drop in front of my home. It was raining. The cardboard was ripped, but the windows were intact. I inspected each one. The windows are strewn around my house because they are too big and awkward for me to insert alone. I am searching for a friend for this project phase. Am I happy? I don't know. The product looks reasonable, but the process is a bear and I likely would have gone in a different direction had I understood these important nuances.

Marsha, Thanks for the feedback. We remain committed to constant improvement and truly appreciate your engagement with the process. While we are happy that you have no issues with the inserts themselves, we are sorry that the measuring process was difficult for you and that the shipping provided extra complications. We have strived to make our guarantee-backed measuring process as straight forward as possible with instructions and measurement support available. We understand that this process takes time and effort. Some of our customers who are especially pressed for time have elected to have a handyperson assist them. Because this process has been so successful in ensuring our guaranteed snug fit, we remain committed to it. That said, we also use feedback such as yours to constantly evaluate this and all our processes at Indow. Regarding the shipping, it is always disconcerting to hear that this aspect did not go smoothly. While we are proud that our crating was indeed able to protect against what appears to be some rough handling, we understand that this does not meet your or our expectations. We will be following up with our shipping partners to ensure that expectations are met going forward. These unprecedented times have certainly provided unique challenges for us. However, we remain committed to our customers from first contact to installation and appreciate your patience, your business, and your honest feedback.

I like the inserts a great deal, but the delivery time was six months -- much longer than originally quoted.

Thanks for the feedback. We certainly understand your concerns and frustrations surrounding the lead times. These unprecedented, pandemic-related supply chain issues have indeed been formidable challenges for us as a company as well as so many others in the manufacturing sector. It is true that many original lead times had to be adjusted due to the unpredictable nature of these supply chain issues. Throughout, we have done our best to be transparent about the changing realities and inform our customers of the effects on their orders. We are truly glad that you, like so many others, are happy with the quality and usefulness of our inserts. We remain committed to providing the comfort and quiet that our inserts provide as quickly and efficiently as we can.

It helped to muffle noise. It reduced the noise by about 10 dB. I live by a moderately busy street. The noise of cars is still annoying level. Indow insert doesn't seem to reduce the rumbling sound of loud cars and motorcycles much. The noise still wakes me up. Without Indow inserts, we were not able to sleep in a bedroom. Now, at least, I can sleep in the bedroom. My wife still needs to sleep in a walk-in closet due to the noise.

Eiichi, Thanks for the review and feedback. We are sorry to hear that our inserts have only partially addressed your noise issue. All sound situations differ, with sound traveling through other materials than just the window openings. We remain available to ensure that our inserts are fit properly and are maximized for noise dampening.

They reduce external noise, but not to the extent I was hoping for. They do not appear to increase energy efficiency during the summer due to install location, but I expect them to help during the winter.

I have a large picture window in my living room that faces a very busy street. The insert has helped reduce the noise and I'm optimistic it will also help insulate the room when the weather turns cold. When I measured to order the insert, I didn't know that I had to consider space to accommodate opening the louvers of my four plantation shutters with the insert in place. Sadly, I can now only open the two middle panels of shutters unless I pull the shutters away from the insert because the side panels bump into the insert and don't have enough room to open. An Indow tech tried to help, but there wasn't a good solution. I may order new shutters with smaller louvers.

Brian, Thanks for the review and the feedback. We are committed to improving on all fronts and appreciate you engaging with us in this process. While these pandemic-related issues have been uniquely challenging and difficult to plan for, we continue to learn from them and adapt/plan as best we can. Once again, we appreciate your business and the feedback provided.

They help, but they don’t compare to just spending the extra money for proper soundproofing. I’m not going to be a success story as I am not satisfied with the results and investing the money in proper sound proofing and not sure what to do with all the window inserts I purchased. My advice to others is start with one room and see how you like the results. They don’t live up to the promise in my opinion.

Chris, We are certainly appreciate the honest feedback. While the independent performance studies and customer testimonials do not coincide with your experience, we understand that every sound environment is different. We would be happy to discuss your particular situation to ensure the sound reduction properties of our inserts are being maximized. We stand by our product as an effective solution for noise reduction and hope that through a support/troubleshooting process, we can soon include you among our success stories.

Windows inserts help block some vocal sounds, but we feel it’s not thick enough compared to the Indow acrylic samples from the laser measuring kit. The metal ring came off from the insert when we tried to remove it.

Hi Richard, thank you for your review. We are happy to assist you with verifying your acrylic thickness and repairing your D-ring--this is a simple fix! Our Case Coordinator will be following up with you in about 1-3 business days about your insert.

I am happy that the window inserts help lower noise level from an outside busy street, but not as good as I thought they would. I've decided to have dual pane windows added to the indow inserts to help reduce more noise as it is still too much noise.

Use of your electronic laser was no better than my using a tape measure. After using the laser at least 5 times to repeat accuracy of measurement, the window is about 1/16" too tall. As a result the window has a slight bow to it. It is acceptable, but my tape measure was more accurate. Also, there should be D rings in each of the 4 corners. Per your video you push the window into the frame. I have blinds mounted at the top so the window needs to be inserted from behind the mounting brackets and pull forward. The company was kind enough to send me extra D rings and instructions. Thank you.

The product is great, definitely quieter and less drafty now. However, even after carefully measuring, both inserts are about 1/4 inch too short. Appreciated hiring racially and gender diverse staff in the warehouse. To be honest though, I couldn't recommend the service. It took months to place my order, then one window had a very noticeable flaw. I agreed to return it and pick up the replacement, yet Indow was not willing to take even a little off the cost, even though I'm saving them effort and money at my own inconvenience. I also got a pissy voicemail after not yet responding to an email that had been sent a few hours before. I know it's a pandemic, but still: not impressed.
