Ok with regular traffic, not good enough with cars and trucks with louder mufflers.

We purchased the acoustic version to reduce street noise. They do help insulate against the cold, but don't really meet our expectations for noise reduction.

Hi, Richard. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your Indow inserts. We are pleased to hear that they are doing a good job of keeping your home insulated and warm this winter. We are sorry to hear that you are not observing your desired level of noise reduction. There are many factors that can be contributing to your noise problem, including frame depth in your windows and distance from the source of the noise. Your Fit Specialist is aware of your concerns and will be reaching out to discuss them with you.

The pallet it arrived on was hazardous. The bottom wooden piece was not aligned properly so 3inch screws were sticking out. The package was oddly balanced and difficult to move with a forklift, probably because of the pallet not being assembled properly.. The inserts were also labeled for the wrong windows. Apart from packaging, the windows worked well.

Hi Abby, we are happy to hear that your inserts arrived safely. We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with our packaging materials. We appreciate your feedback as we do not often get to hear about the condition of our crating materials upon arrival. We have recently extended the lengths of some of our screws and added additional stabilizing pieces to make the crating even more robust. Even with these improvements, sometimes our materials can be mishandled by our shippers. Thank you for informing us of your issues with your order - we will reach out to our production team to see if we can make additional improvements to our packaging and shipping process. Once you respond to our email from today we can also provide you replacement labels for your inserts.

Despite being very careful with my measurements the insert seems slightly too big. This squished the corners in a way that does not seem to create a good sound seal. I’m also dumbfounded at why there is only one D ring for removing the insert. There should at least be one on the top as well to help adjust and straighten the insert. Sound seems decrease by only 20-ish percent. Overall I feel like it was over $900 that I expected better results from.

Although I can’t say I doesn’t help a little with the noise, it’s open slightly on two corners at the top. I am assuming this is a common problem, as there was a corner separation section, (how to repair) far from award winning product as described. Probably a fluke that got by quality control or dropped in shipping. Works for the most part. See Andrew Palmdale or Daniel Steele emails via Richard Blakeman.

Hi, Richard. Thank you for reaching out. These corners on your two inserts certainly are not standard and should be addressed. Your damaged inserts were brought to our attention at the end of December and we reached out to you to discuss repair and/or replacement inserts. We do provide a guide as it is possible to damage the insert if dropped on a corner, or in transit. If a simple fix is possible, then it is typically easier for our customers to do so than to be troubled with a new shipment. Andrew reported that you were not 100% satisfied with the repair, but did not want a replacement. Please let us know if you reconsider so we can get this problem resolved quickly and effectively and bring quiet and comfort to your home.

Believe the inserts are a bit large not sure they fit properly but the packaging for return is too cumbersome and would not work to send back, so I will keep the inserts and attempt to use as is. Feel as if the noise may actually be amplified vs. reduced when the inserts are in use.

They do the job for an affordable price, though ultimately I find using window inserts aren't an ideal solution for upgrading my windows. It can be quite difficult to take down, and can make my room very hot & stuffy with poor air circulation. The other downside is the insert taking a couple of weeks to be made & shipped wasn't ideal as well. in the future I think I'd much rather get new windows for better air & temperature circulation

The product itself is fine. They are pretty flimsy but keep out the draft. I’m not sure why the corners of the indows need to be deliberately damaged in order to fit in place. It seems like bad design and the first area where the inserts might begin to break or show wear and tear. Salesman Jeffery and fit specialist Daniel were evasive, aloof, and uppity. We had an issue with a window that we ultimately had to cancel an insert for and after multiple emails to both Jeffery and Daniel, to which they never responded, we had to call them multiple times to get our order fulfilled. They also claimed we hadn’t returned the Indow Fit Kit, which we had promptly after receiving it. I’d like to purchase more Indows for my home but I wouldn’t want to deal with these two Individuals again. That being said, our Indows were shipped in a very high quality crate and arrived undamaged.

I thought more noises would be blocked out. From the way the sales rep explained it he made it seem like it would be more. One of our windows came damaged but your company is doing a great job in getting I replaced for us. For the price of the windows I just wish they’d block out a little more noise

The inserts fit well but they have reduced the outside noise only minimally. Also one came with a small chip in the acrylic. Nothing really noticeable unless you are looking for it.

We ordered a large acoustic grade Indow insert for a window that covered more than 60% of our front living room wall. The main reason we ordered the Indow was road noise. We live very close to a busy 2 lane road and were hopeful that the Indow would cut down on the road noise. Our installer explained that we should start with the biggest window for an insert. Our only other windows on this floor are a slider, a front door with a small window, and a glass door slider so we can't do any other Indow inserts on this level. Unfortunately, the Indow has not made that much of a difference. For the cost of the insert I would have hoped for a 50% or better sound reduction. When the road is dry there is more sound reduction (maybe 25%). When the road is wet I'd say the sound reduction is 10-15% vs without the insert. If I had to do it over I would not purchase the Indow simply due to cost vs effectiveness. I do understand that there are many purposes for the Indow aside from sound reduction, for instance the ability to keep certain windows in classic homes for insulation purposes.

We thought that it was going to cut the noise by 50%, but I think that it is 20-25% at best, which is better than nothing at all.

They don't seem to fit without squeezing into the space and the rubber gets pushed into a crease.

Great customer service. Very professional. But very poor product. Not worth for the price. This is something you can do your own with the material that you can buy from Lowe’s or Home Depot for less than $100 rather than paying 10 times more.

There is no reduction in noise; I can still hear the cars belonging next door, but they are more attractive than plastic to keep out the cold. Should keep out the heat in the summer as well!

Hi Susan, thank you for being our customer! We looked into your order and see you purchased our Standard Grade product, not the Acoustic Grade which will give you twice as much noise reduction. We understand the noise issue was less severe/frequent compared to the other issues looking to be addressed in your home. Combining this and the budget, you and your dealer agreed that the Standard Grade was the best fit. If you have any issues with your order, please reach out to us as we will be happy to work with you on a resolution.

It did what it's supposed to do, reduce sound transmission. Unfortunately, the traffic noise (of the low frequency kind that was not the easiest to block out) reduction did not just blow me away. I suffer from overly grand expectations.

We ordered Indow inserts to reduce road noise to one of our rooms. The product does work as intended. We are happy with the quality of the product, however the measuring process is where we found the problem. We have window frames with some steps/ grooves. The task of measuring these special type of windows were left to the customer ( who doesn't have much experience in window measurements ). Due to this one of the inserts didn't fit the window properly, thus reducing the effectiveness of the insert. We felt that if these measurements were taken by an Indow dealer we wouldn't have the problem of non fitting insert.
