“I am pleased to join the chorus of great satisfaction in our Indows! And to echo the oft-repeated claim that the noise reduction benefits were profound and pleasing! Comfort has improved, and while we are still in shoulder months between heating and cooling, I feel we actually delayed turning on our energy-eating air conditioning because our Indows have helped us maintain comfort later than would have been the case. Finally, I will note how perfect the Indows solution is for our home located in a historic district of town. Our Landmark District code prevents window replacement until our historic, single-pane windows are "beyond repair." Our windows allow us to maintain aesthetic charm without sacrificing comfort and insulation performance. The Indows installed easily and fit perfectly. I would note that the largest, measuring 70 in wide and 77 in tall seems to be at the far edge of how big I want a single-piece Indow to be--it was a little challenging to get it seated exactly where we wanted. But like the other 12 Indows we installed, it has sealed nicely. And sitting at my desk looking out of that big West-facing window is a joy and now, much more comfortable. That brings to mind one more big benefit--when your windows are more comfortable to sit near, you get to use more of your square footage in your home. No more having to avoid the hot or cold spots near windows!”

“Pretty happy with my inserts. I have a bedroom by a street corner, and it can get pretty noisy with traffic from the stop sign. After adding the inserts I don't hear anything from most cars now.”

“Indow made consulting, measuring, ordering and installing very easy. In my case, I needed a way to keep condensation and mildew out of the bathroom skylight. For the product and services they provide, it was less expensive than I would have guessed. Kaya was my product specialist that I communicated with. He was great. He guided me through the process and answered my many questions, ensuring my skylight insert would fit. I am very pleased with the product and this company!”

“We are very happy. We bought the Indows for energy purposes and I'm sure they will show up over time. What has really surprised us--shocked us?--is how much quieter the house is. Although we live in a very rural area, the sound passing into the house from outside has been dramatic and immediate. That seems like an important distinction: noise reduction is immediate and energy savings are longer term. We live about 3000 miles from Portland, so we were very pleased by the safe arrival of our Indows. Whoever thought out their packing, deserves some sort of prize beyond our appreciation.”

“I can't praise these inserts enough! The company was easy to deal with, kept me informed of what was going on in the process, the delivery was seamless and they were easy to install. I bought them to insulate some gorgeous leaded glass windows that leaked like crazy and now my front room is quiet AND energy efficient. I feel that they will pay for themselves over and over in energy cost.”

“The inserts provided immediate results for the better. The inserts a virtually invisible which was better than expected. The biggest challenges were getting the accurate measurements which I Dow was helpful with and repositioning the blinds. Everything has worked out. We are planning to do this with other windows”

“We were excited to receive our Indows, but once we got them in, we were blown away! They match our woodwork almost perfectly. Installing them was far easier than we had anticipated, and we were immediately impressed by the noise reduction, as well as the ability to reduce the impact of the windows on our indoor temperature! Couldn't be more pleased and very excited to be able to add "custom" shapes for the top of our lancet windows.”

“The acoustic indow window worked better than I expected at blocking out noise. The only thing I didn't like was the shipping company (T-Force Freight). The shipping company was difficult enough that I decided to rent a U-Haul and pick it up at their warehouse.”

“As always with internet purchases, I was holding my breath on my recent purchase of inserts! However, everything suggested by everyone I spoke to via telephone, email and text, was verified when I received and installed my inserts!!! “Good quality window inserts. Easy to install. Unfortunately, doesn't do much to block road noise that I was hoping it would help with. Website is clear on the uses so I can't say it was false advertising, just buyer error.”

In many situations, troubleshooting the fit of the inserts can be effective in increasing the sound reduction properties. We are happy to help with that. Sometimes, due to the many variables at play in each unique sound environment, other soundproofing measures need to be implemented in conjunction with our inserts in order to receive the desired level of sound reduction.

“We ordered 4 Indow Window inserts to see how they worked on our steel casement windows. We are very pleased with the fit and finish, and especially the improvement in wintertime comfort. Steel casements present challenging issues when trying to improve efficiency. The only downside for our installation is it required the removal of the locking and operating hardware to work in concert with our window treatments. The attached photo is during installation with Indow inserts installed on the two left pair; not yet installed on the two right pair. Pretty minimal visual difference! I'm now ordering 17 more inserts for the rest of the house.”

“Our acoustic window inserts have definitely reduced the amount of street noise coming into our apartment. While we can still hear the train as the engines pass by the noise from the train cars is very muted. Likewise we still hear the drunken club patrons yelling, but it no longer seems like they are in the room with us. Our big negative would be that the blinds we enclosed in the space between our single pane and the insert melted and warped within the first week. I don’t think there was any mention in the directions about the possibility of heat build up and potential consequences. That might be good for people to know.”

“Finally, a solution that doesn't break the bank and allows you to keep your existing windows. We bought ours primarily for additional soundproofing as our builder used dual-pane glass. It makes a measurable difference - 20 dB. The bonus is the insulation value. It's been a mild spring and our main bedroom at the front of the house facing the morning sun is much cooler. I suspect it will be warmer in winter as well. If you follow the self-measure and installation instructions to the letter, they go in easily. We have floor-to-ceiling windows, so we had massive inserts, but it was still manageable for two people.”
