“We didn't have an issue with the products, but we did find the delivery a bit of a let down. Especially because we knew we had frozen goods and the driver was sitting in the road next to us for over an hour and we could physically see them. They refused to deliver our order until we made a complaint to their employer. Kinda wished you had slots to choose and a more reliable service to get them.”
“I've had soem trouble recently with incredibly short expiry dates for some quite expensive products that would normally take quite a while to consume, e.g. matcha and rice.”
“Honestly Japan Centre used to be the go to but in recent years the availability of items, quality available and the prices as well as the store experience are all no longer a reason to buy from Japan Centre.”
“The quality of the fish itself is excellent. I regularly buy sashimi-grade tuna and salmon, and the product quality has always been very good.
Where the experience consistently falls down is delivery. Lead times are often more than a week out, which makes food planning difficult. Other specialist fishmongers in London offer next-day or two-day delivery, and as a result I have increasingly started buying elsewhere despite preferring Japan Centre’s product.
More concerning was a recent delivery issue. A frozen order was left in a communal bin shed rather than being delivered to a neighbour, despite that being the instruction on the DPD delivery. Given the nature of the products, this raises obvious food safety concerns. I raised this with both DPD and Japan Centre, but I never received a response from Japan Centre, which was disappointing.
Excellent product quality, but delivery lead times and post-delivery support need improvement.”

“Everything was good from start to finish. Delivery was fairly quick and hassle free. My order was reasonably priced and items were is stock.
Some of my regular items are never in stock so my order gets smaller and smaller. Overall the selection is not a good as it used to be.”
“The order was okay but the courier simply dropped off my sashimi salmon and tuna at the door, knocked and ran off, we only saw it on camera and came out to collect it. I understand people are busy but with order containing cooled goods I would hope for a little more care.”
