About JENZA:

Who is JENZA? Can I trust them? And why don’t you ever answer our calls? (Mum??). So, (mostly) legit questions to ask before you book. JENZA is the travel love child of USIT and BUNAC – two originals of the work and travel world founded by students in 1959 and 1962. Yep, we’re old AF. But with that, comes a ton of wise old owl expertise and trust. Basically, these chaps may be so new they chafe – but it’s not our first rodeo. Working as one global team, JENZA has the backing of 65+ years of work abroad experience, but has been built for today’s travellers. Shaped by our Youth Advisory Panel and given the stamp of approval by our roadtesters, it’s all in our logo: You Shaped Travel.

“JENZA staff have been incredibly helpful and proactive in supporting me to make my start in New Zealand an incredibly positive one! The initial orientation highlighted exactly how to maximise my working holiday and gave advice for how I could pursue opportunities in a positive and focused mindset. The constant support network is tremendous as well! There were some technical issues in joining the pre-orientation call, so I was unable to access information prior to my arrival in New Zealand. Despite this shortcoming, JENZA have delivered on every front! :)”

“A little bit on the pricier side, however, the info, communication, and experience is worth it. They answered any questions I had and helped me walk through the process of getting on my feet with accommodation, job seeking, figuring out bank and tax details, and transportation. Met some really cool people through the way aswell. I am American, and I met people from Germany, Switzerland, UK, Brazil, and of course the local Kiwis.”

“I chose this organization and it was the right decision. The people are really kind and always open to help you. We had meetings where they told us about all the important things you need to know about travelling across New Zealand. They also planned great activities to get to know each other better or to see some beautiful places of Auckland. They also provided a privat session to get all your questions answered. However their organization was a bit chaotic at the beginning, yet I would definitely recommend this organization. It was the right choice!”

“I would definitly recommend Jenza. Although the email communication was occasionally a bit chaotic and i had to arrange the transfer from the airport to the hotel myself, the time on-site was absolutely amazing. Lots of useful information, friendly people and always someone to reach out to.”

“Shontelle did a very good job. The presentation she gave was very informative and helpful. The transfer from the airport to the hostel was easy. However, the pre departure emails were very chaotic and the meeting before departure was not transparent unable to attend and could only ask my questions by email. But the days with the organization were great.”

“Shantelle was a very kind and helpful host. She gave us lots of useful tips,such as the best ways to find work, where to enjoy the best activities, and what to watch out for or avoid in New Zeeland. We quickly go to know each other people and went on some amazing trips together. I would definitely book trough JENZA again.”

“As soon as we arrived in New Zealand, we felt very comfortable and welcome. We never felt like we were alone in this, because there were always people to talk to. Especially Shontelle was very kind, helpful and always there for you. The only thing that was a bit unfortunate, was that the pre-orientation call did not happen.”

“I booked my working holiday through the Canadian organization SWAP who partners with JENZA/BUNAC. Having a cohort of other travellers was super valuable for socializing and figuring out 'life' in the first week. I definitely recommend the full 8-day package as 3 days is barely enough time to recover from jet lag. :)”

“I think JENZA is definitely worth it if you're going travelling for the first time and have worries about making friends or any admin or logistics. Having the orientation with Louise and Shontelle gave some information that I didn't know beforehand that was useful. It's also nice having the safety net while you're travelling because it's like having a mum in the country who you can email or call in an emergency and they'll help you out wherever you are. I think if you're an experienced traveller this programme isn't necessarily the best value for money, but definitely worth it if you're worried about travelling as it gives lots of peace of mind.”

“Jenza really gave us safety by promising to have the opportunity to call them if we would be in trouble! The starter package totally helped me due to lots of different information about how to find jobs and also how to react properly if I'll be unhappy with treatment. In addition to that they recommended a lot of different apps and websites! I can totally recommend especially if you're travelling solo!”

“For me it was definitely a good decision booking my work and travel experience with JENZA. It's ideal to get a general impression and some tips for example in terms of finding a job, buying/renting a car or organizing your journey. Additionally, both the JENZA-team and the other travelers were so openhearted and nice, so I really had a great time. Unfortunately, sometimes, everything was a bit unorganized. For instance, there wasn't a pre-departure call we booked. However, it was a good experience I can recommend to everyone who wants to have some help before starting their work and travel adventure.”

“We dont got many informations about the SIM Cards. We had to do many things by ourselves. You will know a lot of people after the orientation.”

“I like it to have my first days with Jenza because i know we get important informations for travelling, jobs and accomondations. Any time we have a question, they help us with it. And i feel save because i know i can call they every time. The only not so good thing was, that some informations were good to have early befor. A little bit better Organization about some things would be better.”

“The first orientation days with JENZA are now over and me and my buddy had a great time. We were put into a room with 6 other people, that were from Germany aswell so we could connect to others really quickly. The guides explained how to open a bank account, get a SIM and our IRD number, so that everybody understood it easily. They also took their time to talk to us one on one, so we could ask all the questions we gathered. All in all, great experience”

“the girls here at the orientation days are super nice and helpful. they have provided us with all the necessary information which made the start here in new zealand a lot easier. however, all this can also be done without help if you do enough research online. anyways, it is reassuring to have a contact here in case you need something.”
