This company says customer service is their top priority, whilst scamming their customers, selling faulty, filthy and potentially disease ridden items. They provide an extremely vague description of items, but also list the RRP to lead you to believe the items have some value, for them to be delivered faulty, filthy, filled with old food debris and leaving a stench within the house once opened. Once contacting the company, they told me the photos they use are from Stock, even thought the boxes in the photos are the EXACT boxes I received. They also copy and paste a part of them terms and conditions which basically says they are exempt from any consumer laws, because they offer a 2 hour window on a Friday afternoon to view their lot. They have no care for their customers, they hold no accountability or empathy, and I cannot advise seriously enough to avoid this company. One box, which was clearly for an air fryer, within the lot I purchased actually contained an iron, which was not noted in the lot description. The Ninja Air fryer that they detailed in capitals, with an RRP of £270 did not turn on. The drawers were vile. It stank as soon as I opened the box. The entire thing was covered in rust, mold and food debris. They hold no accountability for any food related bacteria that entered my home when they delivered the item. I'm not joking when I say this could have caused someone to become seriously sick from the amount of mold and old food the air fryer was covered in.

My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. I was dealing with a representative named Persephone, and sadly, the level of service I received was unacceptable from start to finish. We purchase a garden furniture set, which was supposed to include a sofa, two armchairs, and a table — but one of the armchairs was missing upon delivery. Despite clear evidence that all items were dispatched from the auction house, the company failed to locate the missing piece and showed absolutely no compassion for the situation. What made it worse was the complete lack of empathy or responsibility. The process was incredibly stressful for both me and my wife, yet the company treated it as a minor issue and only offered £50 in compensation for the missing armchair — a gesture that felt dismissive and insulting given the circumstances. They were more concerned about the numbers than about customer satisfaction, and it’s shocking that they were willing to lose us — and potentially future customers — over such a small amount. I requested to escalate this to senior management, but that too was not made easy. I will not be using their services again and strongly advise others to think twice. This review reflects the reality of our experience, in hopes of warning others

I bought a Ninja Blast through John Pye Auctions and it arrived completely dead. It flashes once and never powers on, even after charging for days. The listing didn’t clearly say it might be spares or repairs or untested, only that it was an auction item. For £72, I expected at least a working or usable unit. Customer support refused to help and said all sales are final. It’s very disappointing and I’ll never buy from them again. If you’re thinking of bidding, be aware that items can be faulty or incomplete, even if they look new in the photos.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Bought Pokémon tins from John Pye Auctions. The listing photos clearly showed factory-sealed product, but what arrived had been resleeved — every pack inside was either opened or missing cards. When I complained, John Pye refused a refund, saying I should have inspected in person. But their own photos gave the impression of genuine sealed goods, which is misleading. Be very careful buying collectibles here. The photos may not reflect what you actually receive, and they will not support you if items turn out to be tampered with.

Don’t purchase anything electrical as these items are normally faulty. Dishwasher purchased for £70 thought it was a steal had a fault for the part fitted then found had an electrical fault as well which to fix was going to cost me more than buying a new one. Then purchased an electric smoker which had a faulty co troller wouldn’t change or allow me to return. It was in a sealed box so I assumed it was brand new it wasn’t. Don’t fall for it avoid like the plague.

I am surprised that people are still bidding in auctions at John Pye, which, I learnt, picks up products from recycling centres and from companies whose products or devices cannot be repaired, with both parties sharing the “loot.” What baffles me is that there is no regulatory body overseeing their activities, despite the way they systematically get money from people and go scot-free. I stopped bidding with them after many of their former staff warned and advised me several times. People, be wise!

It seems there's a common theme - John Pye are not truthful with there descriptions and chose which items they disclose the truth about. I've just paid £200 for a Ninja BBQ that is only fit for the bin - they didn't disclose that it was a burnt out non working filthy battered fire hazard! Disgusted - they seem to think they're untouchable and above the law with their T&C's I would not recommend and I think they're shocking as a company.

Long time customer and, yes, some items have arrived with minor cosmetic damage but made a big purchase and it turned up beyond repair and not usable. Save your money and shop elsewhere. Never again.

And here is what you sent me yesterday - I did not win this and I do not want it. I received an unwon Shark Corded Vacuum Cleaner - Pet Model - I do not have pets Bo'ness packaging staff JohnPye branch - effectively takes sought perfumes on the market and exchanges them for unnecessary, unordered, unwon items. The transaction called an auction becomes a fraud. Despite many appeals and correspondence, no positive response and compensation for damage by JohnPye administration Attached are photos of the package received yesterday -

I won a couple quite cheap lots, one for the wall clock and the second one for some ceiling light , on delivery I've received a pile of rubbish with not a single item actually elligible for use, paid £86 for this scrap. Seems like they are removing good items from the item boxes if the lots sells for less than expected. Will contact my credit card company for refund if this wont get sorted out
