Don’t purchase anything electrical as these items are normally faulty. Dishwasher purchased for £70 thought it was a steal had a fault for the part fitted then found had an electrical fault as well which to fix was going to cost me more than buying a new one. Then purchased an electric smoker which had a faulty co troller wouldn’t change or allow me to return. It was in a sealed box so I assumed it was brand new it wasn’t. Don’t fall for it avoid like the plague.

I am surprised that people are still bidding in auctions at John Pye, which, I learnt, picks up products from recycling centres and from companies whose products or devices cannot be repaired, with both parties sharing the “loot.” What baffles me is that there is no regulatory body overseeing their activities, despite the way they systematically get money from people and go scot-free. I stopped bidding with them after many of their former staff warned and advised me several times. People, be wise!

It seems there's a common theme - John Pye are not truthful with there descriptions and chose which items they disclose the truth about. I've just paid £200 for a Ninja BBQ that is only fit for the bin - they didn't disclose that it was a burnt out non working filthy battered fire hazard! Disgusted - they seem to think they're untouchable and above the law with their T&C's I would not recommend and I think they're shocking as a company.

Long time customer and, yes, some items have arrived with minor cosmetic damage but made a big purchase and it turned up beyond repair and not usable. Save your money and shop elsewhere. Never again.

Nov 18, 09:14 Today 26/11/2024 Dear Sirs I received a package from you probably by mistake because instead of winnings and paid: Invoice ID:#299842216 Lot # 211 QUANTITY OF HEALTH & BEAUTY ITEMS TO INCLUDE HOMME EAU DE TOILETTE SPRAY 75 ML ( four expensive men's perfumes ) and I want the winnings, I am not interested in any compensation, only what I won and paid for. And here is what you sent me yesterday - I did not win this and I do not want it. I received an unwon Shark Corded Vacuum Cleaner - Pet Model - I do not have pets Bo'ness packaging staff JohnPye branch - effectively takes sought perfumes on the market and exchanges them for unnecessary, unordered, unwon items. The transaction called an auction becomes a fraud. Despite many appeals and correspondence, no positive response and compensation for damage by JohnPye administration Attached are photos of the package received yesterday -

I went to view a shed, was told I couldn't look in the box because it was factory packaging, bought it and half of it is missing, rang up and told to fill an online form, never heard back, appalling.

I won a couple quite cheap lots, one for the wall clock and the second one for some ceiling light , on delivery I've received a pile of rubbish with not a single item actually elligible for use, paid £86 for this scrap. Seems like they are removing good items from the item boxes if the lots sells for less than expected. Will contact my credit card company for refund if this wont get sorted out

Misleading info. Never put damaged or show where it is . Collection from Chesterfield is so poor, they don't speak to you unless they really have too. Smashed up sofa with no sign of major damage to both arms . Yet the wonderful auctions of Carpenter and Cartwright tell you of faults and are a million miles better than pyes

Scammers. They showed a picture with a Milwakee M12 FMT tool, and I won it with £66, and after taxes I paid £110. When it arrived, I opened the box and found just rubbish. I tried to get a refund, and they told me that they don't give any refunds. SCAMMERS!!!!

Crooks - I bought a box of 152 usb-c charger cables and none of them work. They must be aware of this when selling them, so they have listed these knowing that the person who buys them will be paying for nothing. Cannot have a refund because they had a viewing day for this item and apparently I should have known that all 152 charger cables were faulty just by looking at them. They look brand new. How could anyone know. It is a scam and if anyone else did this they would be investigated by trading standards. I could understand if 50% of them worked but every single one does not work. Never buy from these crooks
