In probably three or four yearly feedback surveys I expressed my desire for the ability to playback audio files from with the app/web interface, and this was never implemented. Movie files would play back audio, but audio files couldn't play back audio...as a music producer who relies on cloud storage for my work, sharing previews of mixes, demos, etc. is essential, and not being able to preview audio from a folder was a dealbreaker for me.”

When doing the price increases, we have tried our best to do it so that the pricing is still competitive and low, compared to other services. However, we understand that you might want to explore other providers. We do hope to see you back someday, though!

Please do not hesitate to contact support at support@jottacloud.com, they will help you solving what has happened. Files uploaded to Jottacloud should not disappear by themselves, so if you experience this, your input is very valuable in order to solve the issue.

“Greatest detractor is lack of possibility of personalized encryption key, having to pre-encrypt files before upload increases the storage capacity I use by several times, and makes retreiving my files when needed extremely cumbersome. And makes preparing files a massive undertaking.
The storage capacity is good, the download ability of lost files is rather poor when downloading larger collection of files I struggle with timeouts as the app does not list all the files for download that the webpage does.
But for those who don't care about security of their files, and just want to not think about storage amounts, it works okay.”

At this time, the services we offer, such as viewing, sharing and painless synchronising over web, does indeed not support creating your own private encryption keys. I'd like to add that the data traffic between your computer and Jottacloud is encrypted with 256 bit AES high grade encryption, and all data are encrypted at rest at our servers. You are also protected by GDPR and Norwegian legislation regarding privacy laws, making your files virtually inaccessible from unauthorised people.
I'll pass on your issues with the timeouts to our developers!
