Conflicting information given as to sowing times which stated April but then upon inquiry stated for best results, sow in May onwards. We have been told the seed sowed to the specifications given may not germinate till summer so now have a wet patch of soil waiting to germinate. If the seed is germinated by heat alone, then this is going to be difficult as the temperatures suggested should be 15 degrees consistently which even for a UK summer is a stretch. This was expensive seed and so the information (no such sowing details on the bag) was contradictory. The company then suggested we re-seed in summer. Not impressed.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that your experience hasn't met expectations. Shaded lawn seed mixes can behave differently to standard mixes, as they rely more on consistent ground temperatures for germination and can take a little longer to establish. We appreciate your comments, and we’ve also reached out to you via email to see if there’s anything more we can do to help, or please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at customersupport@lawnsmith.co.uk if we can assist further.

One would really use this to aerate a lawn with impacted sub soil. The device is supposed to create 2 cm holes and with successive insertion into the lawn, let the plugs of impacted earth out at the top. It doesn't and just impacts the earth into the tyne. Nicely made but does not do the job

Hi Gordon Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are sorry to hear you are having some difficulties with the Greenkey Hollow Tine Aerator but hopefully we can help. This can sometimes happen when the conditions aren't quite and here are a few things that might be causing the aerator to struggle: *Dry, Warm Weather: If the weather’s been dry and warm for a few weeks, the ground can become really hard and compacted. Aeration works best in cooler, wetter autumn months. So, if you’re trying this in summer or after a dry spell, it might be a bit tricky. Ideally, wait for a month or two of cooler, wetter weather to get the best results. Check out more info here for timing tips! https://www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-care-advice/aeration-equipment/when-to-aerate-the-lawn/ *Stony Ground: If the soil’s full of stones, it can make aerating difficult. If that’s the case, you might need to tackle that by removing some of the larger stones first. *Heavily Compacted Lawn: If the lawn has been heavily used or hasn’t been aerated in a long time, it could be too compacted for aerating to be effective. In these cases, it might take a bit more work or even a different technique to improve the soil structure. *Unsharpened Tines: If the tines on your aerator aren’t sharp, they won’t be able to penetrate the ground easily. This is an easy fix though—take a look at this helpful video to see how to sharpen them properly. https://www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-care-videos/aerate-rake-scarify/spike-core-aerate/?srsltid=AfmBOorbRMh_lIb7-dF-Cg8gsNfPzmIhu0Db8GLARx6ldaepjVBgIonO Once you’ve checked off those things, you should have better luck with aerating! If the lawn’s not too stony or old (like 20 years or more), there’s no reason the aerator won’t do its job in the right conditions. I hope this helps and if you need further assistance, please email us at customersupport@lawnsmith.co.uk

I have used you many times before and always used the information on the pack to calculate dosage/coverage. On the grass seed I ordered there was nothing. The accompanying leaflet spoke about spreading and varying the dose based on weather but nowhere did it give a general recommended coverage. 🤔😔☹️

Hi David, thanks very much for taking the time to leave us a review. However, we are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the lack of information on the product and leaflet. This is something that we are currently working on and we hope to have our new inserts in the next couple of weeks. The new leaflets will have all the information you need to know. In the meantime, if you ever have any queries regarding application rates or methods, you can find this information on the website and you can also contact us via email on customersupport@lawnsmith.co.uk or telephone 01522700436. Regards Laura

Returning from holiday I find a lot of brown patches on my lawn which I can only think is clover that has been killied by your treatment. Will grass grow back or will I have to reseed? In hindsight I could hav lived with the clover.

Hi Michael, thanks very much for taking the time to leave us a review and we are sorry that you are having some issues with your lawn. This looks more like a lawn burn than treated clover. I have included a link below to one of our articles on the website which might help explain why this can happen. It's unlikely that this has been a direct result of the product and more to do with the conditions and/or application. However, we would still like to help, so please feel free to email customersupport@lawnsmith.co.uk and we can advise on the best course of action. https://www.lawnsmith.co.uk/lawn-care-problems/common-lawn-problems/lawn-burn?_gl=1*4kixsu*_up*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkJOW_4HghwMVZpVQBh3OLAt5EAAYASAAEgKfIfD_BwE
