“Correspondence with Craig was great. Based in Europe and sometimes find it difficult to order online/ via email. Not this time. Just a little mistake with a detail on one of the orders but easily amended.”

“I have been using LION for a good few years and up to now I have found them fantastically helpful and having great stock. I used them for all my framing equiptment. However my last order was somewhat disappointing - firstly I had not realised that LION had increased the value of the minimum order to qualify for free delivery, I had just followed the guidelines in the latest catalogue. More disappointingly the main item I was purchasing was advertised as "special cutters for trimming slips and narrow beads...". At nearly £43 incl VAT, I actually thought I was purchasing a specialist tool as per the description in the LION catalogue. However, when I opened it I was surprised to find it was an ordinary pair of gasket / anvil shears that one could buy on Amazon and elsewhere for under £20. This won't put me off using LION in the future, but I will be much more careful in researching what I buy and the size of my order.”

“I have repeat ordered 41 mm Langham gothic gold moulding and it said (on line) minimum order of £50.00. on this item As I proceed to checkout having ordered over £50, I am charged delivery. Please advise (order not yet placed but pending). Previous order 990311 A/C MALC9824”

“I had some difficulty finding the Sea Lion Double Sided Mount Film in the online catalogue at first. I emailed and was told that you no longer did it. I almost bought some direct from Zenith. But then I tried again on the online catalogue and found it . It came very promptly so I am very pleased. And thank you for the paper catalogues, much easier to find things in.”

“A great little supplier that we use for framing sundries and framing materials. Its a catalogue we always keep close to hand as they always have items that we didn't even know we needed. Items are nearly always in stock. We've never used Lions for mouldings as they fall outside of our price range.”

“Everything very good as I expect from Lion,have been buying from Lion for 25 plus years. This delevery contained some tamise gold leaf, mixed and plain,packed in very thin plastic boxes,on arrival the other items had pressed on the boxes bursting them open over the rest of the delevery,the linen reclining canvas was covered with the flakes of gold, loosing about a third of the gold flakes.Apart from that,very good”

“thanks for the swift and accurate delivery of the 41mm walnut picture moulding, all arrived in good condition and in use already. would note that the product has changed since my last purchase as the moulding is not fully wrapped now - no major issue but I didn't spot that when I looked online.”

“I would rate Lion as the best in their field. Their service is very good but I have had issues with quality on some of the mouldings I have received. I guess that's ultimately down to the manufacturers but perhaps closer checking on packing would save the annoyance of running short of frame because of surface faults or (on two) occasions a warped length of moulding - only discovered on assembly. To be fair, Lion have replaced faulty stock in the past without quibble. The Lion website is excellent and very nice to navigate, it leaves their competitors very much in the shade. Their prices are very competitive too.”

“I used the chop service and was delighted with the result. I ordered on line and chose to collect, my order wasn't ready when I arrived but it was done very quickly. The time gave me an opportunity to look at the huge range of frames available. I will definitely be using this service again.”

“At its best Lion is very good indeed. Speedy delivery and helpful in setting up an account. However people haven't called back when promised and occasionally are not as helpful as they could be in finding the right items in the extensive catalogue. The quality of bare wood has varied and some has had a number of faults that have had to be worked around. It's early days in our relationship with Lion' hopefully ordering will become easier as we gain more experience.”

“Generally I have been pleased with the wood although some I have just used had a burn mark on it which was quite visible and another dark blemish in the wood. The delivery has always been really prompt.”

“Generally very good service but recently commented on my moulding order being 80% more than I ordered. While I well understand that it is impossible ( with the exception of Minerva ) to supply exactly the amount required I felt that I should have been informed why this was. I was told that Lyon would have to telephone everyone as virtually all orders are over that required due to length variation. I do however feel there should be a point where a phone call should be made i,e, 50% over.”
