“We were a family of four with two teenage boys and stayed in Lower Hirafu for the first time. Everything from flights, transfers, equipment hire and accommodation organised by Steph at Mountainwatch ran perfectly. We loved the lower part of the village, the walk up to supermarket, restaurants, food trucks and the like were all more than manageable and the area was quiet, relaxed and beautiful. Our Accommodation, Kisetsukan, had the perfect sized apartment for us and the shuttle service to and from King Gondola each day, was a huge bonus.”

“Roxy was fantastic to deal with. She gave us a wide variety of hotel options and and was always quick to come back. We had a problem with booking at taxi just before our trip and Roxy and team sorted quickly what could have been a stressful situation. Would definitely use mountain travel again.”

“Using Mountain Watch Travel made our Japan ski trip so easy and was great value for money. Our booking agent Roxy was amazing in working with us to put together a package that suited our needs. She answered all questions and provided us with all the support leading up to the trip as well as through it. The Mountain watch team made our time feel very welcoming from the Tuesday night free drink at a designated pub to the Ski instructor Charlie taking us on a guided tour to orient ourselves ( a service offered 3 days a week). We stayed at the Rosenheim which was a more traditional type accommodation in a great location to access one of the snow resorts on foot, the rooms were a good size and the onsen was a nice bonus. The staff that ran the hotel were amazing and just so accommodating. I couldn't recommend Mountain watch and the Rosenheim highly enough if want a cost effective and memorable ski trip.”

“Justine excelled herself AGAIN. We used Justine and Mountainwatch two years ago when we went to Hakuba and knew she would look after us with our booking to Nozawa Onsen. She booked everything for us except our flights (and I regret not listening to her and paying more for the direct flight to Tokyo as she was suggesting). We stayed at ‘Welcome Nozawa’ lodge which was great. The lessons and ski hire were both excellent and the Nagano snow shuttles were as good efficient as always. Justine was super prompt to reply to any communication and was very patient with me. THANK YOU, THANK YOU Justine and Mountainwatch Travel. Can’t wait to do it all again in 2028.”

“Mountainwatch organised our holiday seamlessly and without fuss. They found us excellent accomodation close to the gondola, a concierge delivery of rental skis and poles, transport to and from the airport and lift passes. All worked out very well and without hitch for which we were very grateful and made for an excellent holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to use mountain watch again.”

Everything was seamless Taxi met us in Haneda Good clear instructions Blue star next to gondola Tokyo hotel very fancy next to the drop off from hakuba No dramas at all Obviously knew what she was doing. And she was always easy to contact Dealing with the one person makes a very big difference Dealing with A PERSON makes a difference.”

“We are all very happy with the experience mountainwatch travel provided. We were able to book all our accomodation, travel from the airport, ski lift passes and even ski rentals and lessons through mountain watch. Everything was very smooth when we got there and the accommodation was excellent (Mountainside palace. Great view!). Mountainwatch staff were helpful and responsive.”

“Steph was extremely helpful in choosing an amazing chalet for us at Hakuba. Lift passes, ski equipment hire and a great tour to the snow monkeys were all part of our package and were efficient and really good value. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Mountainwatch (and Steph) again to anyone contemplating a ski holiday and especially for large groups. (We were a family group of 10).”

“Adam was fantastic! He helped us navigate our accommodation options and also helped with ideas and suggestions for transiting around Japan. The accommodation and locations far exceeded our expectations. Tsugaike was particularly exceptional and suited out skiing requirements to a tee. The pick up from Chris in Hakuba and his suggestions were massively appreciated. Would highly recommend Mountainwatch to anyone and we’ll be using them for our next trip (without hesitation).”

“Our first time to Japan and Steph was a great help from start to finish. Our accommodation was as she described(cheap and cheerful) but the ski in ski out location was great for us. Steph and Adam were also a great help when we had some issues with flights. Will book again with Mountain Watch.”

Hakuba was the perfect place to spend a week with the family with great food and powder, variety on the slopes and cute accommodation at Brownie Cottages (perfect for a family of 5).
