“What an absolute farce! DO NOT BUY KT68 VRO
Rang up to enquire about a car, was told it was ready for collection and would have had all cosmetic issues resolved. Felt satisfied with the phone operator telling me it was in A* condition and had been serviced 3 times. Half way through the 2 hour drive to Motorpoint Castleford I got a phone call advising me that the car I’d been told was ready to drive away had just been through it’s initial inspection and they had found 2 cosmetic faults, a dent in 1 door and an issue with a chrome headlight trim. I figured no issue as we can view the car then get them repaired after and motorpoint could deliver it in a few days. We arrived and the whole place felt chaotic, with nobody on reception to greet us. We were eventually asked by someone if we were being looked after and after this he arranged for a sales person to speak to us. I still have no idea who he was as I realised on the way home he never gave his name or did any form of introduction, other than asking if we were there to see a Qashqai, we weren’t we were after a Vitara. Once we were given the keys to the car that’s when things really feel apart, quite literally. This previously ‘ready to drive away’ car was dirty and covered in water marks, had what looked like melted black plastic in the door shuts, melted black plastic on the exterior, one of the A/C vents was snapped, massive scratches in all the trim most notably in the middle of the dashboard on the passenger’s side and above all a piece of trim on the rear offside door was hanging off. When I then looked at the ‘service history’ it became apparent that it had 3 services, not the 4 I was originally told and that these ‘services’ were nothing more than oil and filter changes at a local garage nothing else done on a 4-year-old car. When I showed this to the sales guy he was visibly embarrassed, we’d been told the car was ready and drove for 4/5 hours based on that. We weren’t even offered a coffee for our wasted time. Based on the above I wouldn’t recommend motorpoint cars to anybody that I liked.”
“Beware do not buy from this dealer, I made the mistake of buying a 2016 Peugeot 308 SW back in 2017. Nothing but trouble with the bodywork, first fault 3 of the 4 rear sensors fall into the bumper, then numerous rust spots started to appear on roof six months later. And to top it off the two passenger side doors have started rotting. All of these body/paintwork defects prove unquestionably that my car was involved in an accident and was inadequately repaired before I purchased it in 2017
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER”
“price match not adhered to. Log book got stamped for service but when asked for the service details ,none available . They said it got stamped by mistake. The car never got serviced even though it has got Motorpoint stamp in the log book. Customer service not available all the time.Still awaiting response to my various e-mails.”
“BEWARE AVOID
BEWARE ! Purchased a 2.5 year old Kia Soul last month from the Widnes branch with 4.5 yr warrenty remaining and a full *service history **which is essential to VALIDATE your warranty** ...after buying the car I found out there is NO service history with my vehicle I then emailed / called multiple times and have had NO help just told “the previous owners not provided it” !! THEN WHY SELL IT WITH A FULL SERVICE HISTORY - which means the 4.5 yr warrenty is worthless. ZERO help. Once they have your money they will not assist you in any way. This car was sold under false advertising. Do NOT trust them. I have a car I paid well over the odds for based on zero warrenty and zero service history but most disappointing is their lack of desire to simply fix the issue and keep a customer long term. I am taking legal advice. Absolutely disgusted that a major chain would act so disreputable.”
“After a warm welcome and a less fuss approach we were left to browse at our leisure to view the model we were interested in . From viewing , test driving and making the purchase , nothing could have been easier thanks to the very helpful staff at Peterborough Motorpoint.”
