“I enquired about two courses and was told they are abt accredited, upon purchasing and completing the courses, there was no abt logo on certificate, i questioned why it says “ accredited diploma award”
And not abt, she replied confirming it’s definatly abt and i can use the link they sent me to verify, upon checking the link ,the courses i did were not stated on the abt website, i then questioned why the two named courses do not show as registered with abt,they have since ceased communication, it seems like some of their courses are misold and not actually accredited by anyone, i have since sent 3 more messages, still yet to await a reply-now looking to file chargeback and report to trading standards”

Total rip-off. My daughter paid £474 for a course and they cancelled it and rearranged it without asking her if she could attend the new dates. My daughter said she couldn't attend on the proposed dates so they told her they couldn't give her any order slots. They wouldn't give her a refund.

“Absolutely horrible. I booked onto the Full Nail technician course pre lockdown, I was contacted just before lockdown that the course would have to be cancelled due to lack of staff and that I would be contacted again to reschedule.
Lockdown came into effect and understandable all Business were to be closed as stated by the government.
After lockdown I tried several times to rebook onto this course at the Kings cross branch, just a few days before the course I would get an email to say the course has been cancelled. I did this a few times and each time the same thing happened and the course was cancelled, not good especially if you have to book leave to attend these classes.
I called and sent Next step beauty emails requesting a refund as it had been 2years and I still hadn’t been able to book onto this course.
Since then they have tried to persuade me to join their online class which is not suitable for me as I learn best in a classroom environment.
I choose to attend the classroom classes because all the equipment was provided for you while you trained with NSB. However, with the online classes there are no materials provided yet the course is still the same price and considered “an upgrade”
Today the company emailed me stating that because I have accessed the online portal (without completing any courses) and signed the terms and agreement they will not issue me a refund.
Why must I be bullied into completing an online course when my learning boundaries do not allow me to do so?
Next step beauty are not able to offer the course I paid for and for the past 2years have cancelled my course several times.
Stay away from this company, I am truly disappointed and out of pocket for a qualification I will never get.”
“I can’t stress how much you need to avoid these! My daughter booked a nail course and paid for it. Which they cancelled and offered her the course in a different area which she couldn’t attend so she asked for a refund months later after doing everything they asked we still hadn’t received the refund it was obvious they had no intentions of giving us our money back after telling us they would, in the end we had to contact our bank who refunded us only to be told they had given next step beauty the money back thankfully we were able to prove our case and got our money back again from the bank. Also one of the times we rang them they were extremely rude!”
“had such high hopes for this course but I haven't even got started on Eyelash Enhancement because I've had several modules based on the human anatomy and physiology! Its all unnecessary filler and very boring. There is absolutely no need for me to know half the modules I have to learn in order to advance. Not only are they pointless but many of the answers are to some of the modules are a matter of a opinion. Having some random woman telling me how to run my business and what the best practice is in a salon it tedious and NOT what I paid for. Interestingly their website was recommended to me and the person who recommended it doesn't remember jumping through this many hoops to learn how to wax and tint eyebrows”

“I purchased an online gel course and ‘complete’ gel kit through next steps beauty.
I have found the course and the videos to be pretty good although a lot of typing errors in the work books.
I came to do my practical work only to discover that the ‘complete ‘ gel nail kit wasn’t complete at all . There were three other necessary tools needed to do the course. Disappointed, I messaged the company and Shaun the manager couldn’t care less. He was very rude and not prepared to apologise or offer the items needed at a discount

“Absolutely shocking company, cancelled full nail course 3 times, then offered online course instead. Who wants to learn how to do nails online seriously!! Asked for a refund but said no because I had accessed the online portal to start assessments you have to complete before you go to the course which was cancelled 3 times. Started small claim and they have requested more time. I would rather throw £350 in the air than let them keep it so I will be keeping going till I get it back. Avoid at all costs!!! :(”

Couldn't find any date in Cardiff for a classroom course so they convinced me to pay for the online one and if that wasn't any good then I could pay the difference to do the classroom course instead. The online course was rubbish so I asked to pay the difference for the classroom course and they tried charging me full price. I ended up paying £100 for the classroom course on top of the money id already spent on the online course. They cancelled the course 3 times so I asked for a refund. I waited 8 months to be refunded even after calling multiple times to then realise they had refunded me £65 rather than the £100 and use the excuse that the course was worth £140 even though I'd spend £180 altogether! Their scammers and shouldn't be allowed a business!!”

I booked an acrylic course for November and the date has been changed 5 times, now is March and they offered me a course on April and still not sure they might change it again.

They are an absolute scam, I booked a course on the 3rd of Jan which the course was due on the 19th of Feb, I gave the full payment however, it wasn’t till the 4th of Feb (2 weeks before the course) I got a phone call to say the course no longer exists in the north east, i then asked for a refund after speaking to one of the workers who attitude was horrendous I finally got put through to someone who was on the refund team, they said they would get back to me in the next 24hrs but they did not, the only way they got back to me was as I gave email after email telling them I will take it further which is still due to happen if I do not get my money back. I then finally got a response on email asking for my bank details so I gave them, after this I still got no response so I gave them a call and then I got told that I won’t get my money back until up to 14 days !!! So I sent an email saying I would like some sort of proof of the transaction of my refund and they have not got back to me. It’s just not on they have took my money but then they are prolonging it to give me the refund. If this does not get sorted I will take this further.”
