“Received 2 shirts as gifts. 1 was defective. 50% failure rate. Defective shirt was replaced. 33% failure rate. Received another shirt as a gift. 25% failure rate. This indicates quality control is an issue. Shirts are NOT 100% bamboo viscose. This indicates a partial commitment to sustainability.”

Hi Edward, I appreciate you taking the time to review and am so sorry you received a defective shirt. We appreciate you brought it to our attention so that we could get a new one out to you. As we mention on our product pages, our original bamboo shirts are a blend of 70% viscose from organic bamboo and 30% organic cotton. I'm so sorry if we didn't make that clear enough. We do try to use a minimal amount of packing material and avoid plastic whenever possible but it definitely shouldn't be affecting the quality of the shirts you received. “I got 3 different colors of the same size, 2 of them fit perfectly and one is really baggy. A little disappointing since they cost so much”

“The shirt is soft and comfortable. However, it’s definitely not odor resistant. I recently went on a trip out of the country and I tested this shirt vs a merino wool shirt. I wanted this shirt to be better than merino wool because this is about half the cost. Unfortunately, it’s not close to merino wool. The shirt is nice, but if you’re using this for travel, I would suggest merino wool if your minimalist traveler”

We do our best to not make claims about our shirts being designed for that specifically but, with that said, Jack did spend about a month wearing the same un-washed shirt while riding his bike up the canyons here in Boulder during his lunch break with stench-less success . “The shirt seems to be well constructed but it doesn't fit for my body type. The shirts work for a more athletic build. If you're a bit pudgy, this product doesn't work.”

“The shirt is incredibly expensive for what it is. I NEVER pay this kind of money for a dress shirt, let alone a t shirt. So I’m cheap about clothes, admittedly. I think I’d feel less...exploited if the economics made conventional sense. The website talks about the special steps it takes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for its factory workers in China. Given the expense of the shirt it would seem feasible to make them in the US, even with domestic fabric (I know bamboo grows here, quite readily, so why not?). I struggle conceptually, ethically, with paying “made in USA” prices for an item intentionally made far away and shipped here, apparently in a effort to improve working conditions in that far away place. While a laudable goal (improving working conditions, that is), I would rather see this effort expended on establishing good pay and working conditions in, say, Baltimore or Biloxi or some tiny hamlet in rural Pennsylvania. I guess I’d feel differently if the shirt were priced at $20 (maybe), but I don’t see myself ordering another one.”

“I bought a number of hemp t-shirts several years ago. the material was thicker than a normal 100% cotton t-shirt and a rougher texture all of which I liked. I still have both shirts, wear them regularly and they still look good. therefore, I assumed your shirts would be similar. they're not. your material is thinner and really no different than a generic cotton t-shirt. sorry, the best I can give your shirt is a c+.”
