About Overnight Caskets:

Overnight Caskets is a family-owned business. We understand that funerals can be overwhelming emotionally and financially. We also understand that most families have not bought funeral products online. That's why we have reimagined the process with worry-free online shopping and free shipping while safeguarding traditional values of empathy and respect.

Can't do a review at this time as casket is in North Carolina and I reside in Virginia. I won't be able to see casket until my aunt actually passes.

While monitoring the tracking of the order, it appears that the shipping pick-up time was purposely delayed in order to justify the additional $200 charge for "guaranteed" delivery by a specific date.? On the other hand, it was the first time that I've seen a funeral director compliment the closure of a casket to the entire congregation at both the viewing and the service for the deceased, basically (low-key) encouraging the attendees to find out from me WHERE the casket was purchased.☺️

Placed my order, 3 hours later I received a phone call saying it was out of stock so I have to change my order, which delayed it a day because it was after the cut off time for orders when they contacted me. Then I received a phone call the next day saying the shipment was going to be delayed another day due to weather. We had to push back the funeral a day because the funeral home needed the casket at least 12 hours before the service and due to the delay it would only arrive 1-2 hours before the service. When it arrived the funeral home contacted me to tell me there were several dents and dings and a couple of scratches. At that point I just wanted to get my mother into her final resting place so I didn't even bother contacting anyone.

Did not ship on time, still charged the overnight shipping cost when they said that they would not which is $100 worth of shipping costs. They also "magically" did not have the casket that was on-sale from 5k to 1.7k and then offered an alternate one that was just a couple $$$ more for the "same price" like they were doing us a favor... Edit: 3* because they did refund after I had to reach out to them.

The casket pictured on the website (primrose white shade with silver rose finish) was not what we received. The casket pictured has gold hardware and gold handlebars. Instead it arrived with silver hardware and dark wood handlebars. Color of casket was also not as white as pictured. When I asked them to overnight us the correct casket we ordered, we were told it was their last one and they didn't have another one in stock (yet the casket is still available on their website and able to be purchased). They also told us we missed the cutoff to overnight another one to meet our funeral deadline. So obviously we were disappointed that the casket we had to use was not the casket in the picture.

The saleslady on the phone wasn't too sharp, or was brand new to this business. Also, the delivery driver told the memorial park that he was delivering a "casket spray" instead of a casket itself. That meant the delivery was rejected and asked to be brought back a few days later. I had to call to remedy this problem and make sure it was handled correctly. How can a driver not know what he was delivering?

The casket was beautiful and just as presented in the picture. There were last minute snags that kept the experience from being perfect: the casket was delayed in Atlanta after a shipping mishap caused the airline to remove the casket from the scheduled flight and build a special shipping container for it. And then Overnight Caskets could not find a delivery service to pick up the casket at the airport and transport to the funeral home (check with your funeral director. Many will not provide this service.) I had to find my own "guy with a pick up truck" at the last minute. I found this stressful and unpleasant in addition to the anxiety of other funeral arrangements. "Overnight" ended up being about 3 days in transit. Not good.

We are located on the East coast and selected overnight shipping for the casket we ordered, around 3pm, which the website advertises as long as you're on the east coast. We told the funeral home that it would be delivered the next day, and carried on with other funeral prep tasks. The next day, we called the funeral home around 3pm to be sure the casket showed up, and....it hadn't. The delivery folks apparently called the funeral home and said something like they'll "hopefully" be able to get it there the next day. Hopefully?! Thank goodness it did, in time for my dad's services, but not before it inconvenienced the funeral home staff and had us all sweating bullets as to whether or not it would arrive. The casket is very beautiful and I know dad would love it - not to mention the monetary savings..no complaints there! But, I'm not so sure I would trust them again to be timely!

Overall the experience was good and I would recommend the vendor. But, there were a few small annoyances. Communication directly from the vendor could be improved. I had to call them twice (maybe 3 times) to check the status of my order. It was impossible to track my shipment online via a tracking number, which is a bit ridiculous these days. The casket arrived several hours late. Again, I received no proactive notification from the vendor and had to call and ask and the shipper still missed the new quoted time but they did meet the date. During a time like that there is enough to deal with without having to worry about the product arriving on time. It created unnecessary stress as a funeral obviously cannot happen without the casket. The casket was slightly damaged (dented) on the bottom panel. It was minor and I did not notice it at first, but it was definitely damaged. This is the disadvantage or ordering online because there is no time to correct something like that. There is no way for me to know if it was damaged during shipping or the funeral home causing the damage, which leads to my next point. I asked the vendor to notify me when the shipper was close so that I could be there to examine the shipment. However, I never received a call. In fact, this survey is the first time that I have received any questions regarding my order or my satisfaction. A better company would have followed up way before now. When I placed the order there was little empathy about the situation. It was simply a "give me the facts and we will ship" attitude. The vendor can use a lot of help regarding customer relations during a very difficult time.

Follow up calls were not prompt. I was on pins and needles trying to get casket in time for viewing. Had to pay extra $400 to get it to us in time. I made numerous phone calls for the order. The cost was reasonable and the quality acceptable. Would I do it again. NO! Their idea and mine differ in what is considered overnight. Had to go through too many people to get the order placed and guaranteed delivery.

Ordered a casket that said it was in stock, received a call about an hour later saying it was out of stock in the west coast facility, and could not order another one or have it shipped from any other location. Very polite customer service, but disappointing experience.

It says free shipping to Colorado, so I ordered the casket, they called said we won't ship to you you live to far from a big city, so now I have to go pick it up 3 hours away. I have to do this promptly as they won't hold it there for long. It's been a stressful event and part of the reason for ordering from them was to order it and forget it. Friendly people just not what was advertised on shipping.

Convenient and decent prices. However the casket I ordered, though it showed available online, turned out to not be available. I received a call the following business day to say it was not available and was up-sold a more expensive casket over the phone. At that point we had little choice but to pay more to get another casket since we did not have more time before the funeral. If something is not available it should not display as available on the website.

The original casket that was ordered, was going to cost me an additional $300 because it was located in another location.... Company was willing to absorb the fee to accommodate my order. Had to pick an alternative

The first time we saw the casket was a few hours before the first viewing of my mom. There was a big noticeable white scratch on the front right side of the casket. There were also some marks at the right side which we think are marks where the parts were glued together. They were noticeable because they were light colored showing up on a dark colored casket. Because we could not do anything about it anymore, then we just used the flowers to hide these scratches, which was not ideal. In short, we were disappointed with the quality and look of the casket and we just could not do anything about it So we felt bad. If you want, i can show or send you pictures of the casket showing the scratches. One good thing to say, the casket was delivered quickly which was helpful. Thanks for that.

The idea of this service great for those of us who can't afford the expense of a funeral. However the casket selection I made could not arrive on time and I had to make a last minute second choice which meant a floral adjustment as well. I was promised a $200 refund for the inconvenience but didn't receive one (yet). If you use this service be sure to order a week in advance if possible. Would have been a 5 star rating if there had not been glitches that caused me anxiety.

I placed the order Friday. The wake was Thursday, Monday I get a call saying I need to pay an extra $200 for delivery because their casket was in California (during purtchase Midwest delivery was free). I would of cancelled but was afraid to.
