“Firstly I would like to thank you for the compensation payment. However I was somewhat surprised at the amount that was actually paid into my account. It was almost half of what I was expecting. On two occasions I had two phone calls and both said that the compensation amount was £1500.00 (or thereabouts, I dont have the exact amount with me). The amount paid in was £828. I called to query this. I was told that the figure I was previously told was BEFORE the 40% fee was taken out. May I strongly suggest that when you call people to let them know how much they are going to get that you tell them the ACTUAL amount and not the amount before deductions as this is very misleading. I was also told that in the small print of an email that they had sent to me that it does state that the fee is 40%. This needs to be stated at some point during the phone call.”

“I accepted an offer from Pacific Legal to investigate if I had a claim against St James' Place. It turns out that I did. I recently received my compensation into my bank account. Throughout the process Legal Pacific kept me informed, guided me through the paperwork and spoke with me to explain when there was any sort of problem. I have been very pleased with the service they provided for me.”

“Very simple and a successful outcome. Rather have 52% of something than nothing. I asked part way through if I could move from SJP without jeopardising the claim or worse but got no reply. I felt SJP were still able to take high fees and I preferred to change provider ASAP”

“Whilst I am delighted to have received a payment for overcharges taken by St James Place, I was certainly not expecting to be charged almost 50% in fees. My husband made a similar claim a while ago through AMK Legal and they charged 40%. He was informed later that there is a 30% cap on legal charges like this.”
