It’s a great addition to my iPhone. Only thing is the backbone tends to have joystick problems and I have to order a new backbone with warranty.

I ordered the Backbone last week and received it in less than a week (even with it being the week of Christmas). I’ve seen several reviews talking about extremely long shipping time and/or no verification email, I personally do not have either of those issues. I’ve been using it now for just under a week. Before I explain my “good” and “bad,” I’ll say that I’ve been mainly playing Xbox cloud gaming and Stadia. I have had the same issue with Xbox remote playing not working very often, but I personally believe this more to be an issue with the Xbox app and not an issue with the Backbone app or controller. The Bad: -If you allow your devise to disconnect or lock it, you’ll have to reconnect to cloud gaming and I’ve had no volume after reconnecting. That’s been my experience with Xbox cloud gaming at least. I think this is more so an issue with Xbox cloud gaming than backbone, I had this same issue when playing before I got a controller and playing Xbox cloud play touch compatible games. -In just under a week, I have had the controller disconnect for some reason in the middle of a game. It took me a few minutes and it did eventually connect again, but it was annoying -I have to continuously log into the Backbone app and it never stays logged in after I exit the app. Sometimes I can’t even log in. I honestly have barely even used the app. It’s a cool idea with all its features, but it hasn’t worked well for me and I doubt I’ll renew my subscription once the free trial is up. I’ll just use the Backbone as a controller and use the Stadia/Cloud Gaming/Xbox remote play apps The Good: -The controller itself seems to be really sturdy and built well -The controller just works. I’m still kind of shocked what we are able to do with today’s technology. * It gives a great advantage in the mobile games that are compatible with controllers and it has all the buttons and features you’ll need to play Xbox games. I still can’t believe we are legitimately able to play high caliber Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X games on a cell phone. To sum it up, I’d 100% recommend Backbone. There are still some issues with the cloud gaming apps I’ve used but I don’t blame Backbone for that and quite frankly, it’s to be expected when you’re playing a game on a cell phone or tablet that pushes the limits of a gaming console. If you’re really excited about and want to use the features of the Backbone app, I’m not sure I’d recommend it until they fix the app, but if you want a sturdy gaming controller that works well with your phone and makes playing games so much easier, this is the one to go with.

Love my device. Drains the battery on my phone quickly.

This product is amazing. I like it better than gaming on a tv. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the joysticks. They are a little small and don’t have much travel.

I think you should make 2k22 playable on backbone.

Great product one slight issue I have is *(note it may be my phone or just a defective product) sometimes the controller disconnects when it’s still connected it’ll start pushing buttons I’m not pressing… but overall I love it!!

Very reliable and active playing system. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was due to the back plate not being 100% sturdy. I think a bigger back plate for the phone being bigger would give it the 5/5 stars. I have the iPhone 12 max pro and the slim collapsable back is a little concerning. All in all great buy for the price and excellent product.

A little glitchy. Xbox.com/play doesn’t always recognize and I’ve never been able to get remote play to work. That said, when it’s working it’s amazing. Feels quality. Sold my Switch and saved money getting it. FYI online gaming is a bit too slow, but for games like Forza campaign it’s exceptional.

I’m a guy who’s terrible using these controllers on consoles. Never been good at playing PlayStation or Xbox. This controller is beautiful and functional. Sits in your hand nicely. Excellent design! Worth the integration with the Backbone app, which makes it superior to Razer’s product. Two issues. 1) you can’t use a case on iPhone with the Backbone: the “channel” is not wide enough. But I see no reason you couldn’t buy an extra lightning to lightning adapter designed to fit a thick case like an Otterbox. True it won’t be as snug a fit, but it’s possible. Uncasing and recasing an iPhone case is the one flaw to user experience, but that’s only a half star out of five stars. Something for a future Backbone model, like the Two? 2) I still suck at playing using a console style controller! I’m terrible! 😆 I’ve begged support to suggest iOS or Apple Arcade games to teach me. To help me onboard so I’m not utterly pathetic! The hardware design is excellent. The software integration is unsurpassed. The combo is genius. And all of it fails a customer who wants to enjoy it and is too uncoordinated! Help! Idea: work on in-house mini game tutorial for onboarding new purchasers. Have that “game” from the Backbone app to slowly bring hapless people or other newbies up to speed!

I would give 5 because the product over all is great , but I didn’t receive the code for the 3 months free for the xbox thing .. didn’t even have an option to redeem it in the app ,

This is an amazing product overall. However the reason for 4 Stars is due to the fact of having to remove my case every time I want to use it. I know myself, and will not do that due to the risk of my phone being damaged. This is completely a 5 star product once that is figured out. I purchased this in the hopes to avoid having to carry a controller and iPad, however this will be the more practical option for me. If you are like me, you may want to hold off until that is remedied. However, if you are not as worried as I am - 100% order this right now.

I purchased this to play a few games on my iPhone, as well as purchasing one for my son. Our internet is horrible at the house, so remote playing anything is out of the question, and that's the biggest draw for this controller and Backbone+. If my internet connection wasn't the typical rural DSL speed and I could utilize the Xbox streaming stuff, this would be a fantastic peripheral. As it stands, the games I can play with this controller are just as intuitive with touch controls, and most everything else I tend to just play on my PC. I half expected some kind of exclusive games or something. I guess you get that through the Xbox streaming, which I can't really use. I deducted one star due to most of the utility being in the Streaming games aspect. That feature, while awesome in concept, in practice isn't worth a subscription unless you live in an area with great internet speed.

Love it, very solid, feels comfortable, joy sticks could be bigger, great latency, can charge while playing. Only issue I have is I remote play PS5 and I know you guys have a partnership with Microsoft so makes sense. Just can’t motion sensor with the controller which I get. Just a personal issue or anyone who’s getting it for PS remote play.

It’s pretty great for what it is. I wish the handles for the grips were a bit longer because it hurts my hands to hold it after an hour or so of playing. Maybe I can print something to slide on. Otherwise it’s great. I find myself hitting the L2 and R2 buttons accidentally periodically, and the joystick isn’t the best for precision, but again, for what it is — a device that gives your phone a shot at being a portable console — it’s great.

Very amazing product for transforming your iPhone into a portable gaming machine. I would have given this 5 stars if it was compatible with my phone while it has the case on but since I own the iPhone 13 Pro Max I was lucky to at least get an adapter that helps secure it onto the device without the case. Also, if you’re used to playing games with a controller then playing shooters and driving games will take some adjusting because it’s like using Nintendo switch joy-cons. Lastly, and this is aimed towards Apple and game developers but AppStore arcade games should have more remote compatibility and furthermore should allow you to remap the buttons. An example of this is Slaughter 3, a game I was really excited to play with nice textures graphics wise but when I tried playing with the backbone on I still had to touch the screen to interact with the environment because there was no button and for whatever odd reason the aim button was the Y button so I could either aim or move the camera and as a shooting game that is unacceptable.

It’s good device. The only complaint I have is while playing COD mobile, the aim is off. After calibration it’s still the same. A lot of games compatible with the backbone are not released yet on the game cloud beta so it’s very limited to what you can play. Overall I would recommend this device to someone.
