“The device is awesome and works well. I just wished the a,b,x,y buttons and the joystick were switched but that is not a big issue just more for comfort”

“The application is easy to use. I hope that it gains more native functionality to use with Xbox, but for having to work “outside the box”, I am really impressed with the developers for what they have accomplished. Xbox cloud gaming works well, but I don’t like having to exit the app, go to a browser into a Home Screen and back and forth to launch a game. But it’s worth it to get to play some cool games.”

“This controller is solidly built, the d-pad feels great and it's comfortable to play with. It's made Xbox Cloud streaming such a blast to play. Occasionally the controller will have some odd behavior like the analog drifting down or a button being pressed repeatedly. Once I disconnect it and restart my phone, it behaves as expected but it's odd that it happens. I'll be upgrading to a larger iPhone next time around because I'm really loving gaming on my iPhone with this controller.”

“Amazing Gamepad. With Backbone and XCloud I could finally get rid of my Switch. The buttons and the Joysticks feel high quality and the possibility to charge the phone while playing is amazing. My biggest problem is, that you can’t use the Backbone with a Case. It’s a bit annoying to always slip it on an off just for playing. Also for my big hands it gets uncomfortable after 2 hours of gaming. I would honestly sacrifice some portability for a more ergonomic feel. Can’t say much about the app because it doesn’t work with XCloud. Otherwise I’m really happy. Great work guys!”

“The controller is easy to plug in and remove, and buttons/thumb sticks feel good and responsive. I just use this for a mobile game I like so I can't comment on the backbone game hub. I did have an issue about 6 months in where the cast button would continuously get triggered, making gameplay impossible, but backbone support was quick to handle my warranty claim and I was able to exchange the controller for a new one.”

“The controller itself is all I could ever hope for in a phone controller. It is certainly not the most comfortable to hold, but that's to be expected with phone controllers. As for the software, I do have some criticisms. First of all, there is no way to close out of games using the controller. The home button opens the Backbone app, sure, but the game you were playing remains open as well. So for maximum performance you have to manually close out of the game using the touch screen, which defeats the whole purpose of the home button in the first place. Secondly, web apps do not appear on the Backbone app. This means that to use streaming services like Xbox Game Pass or Google Stadia, you have to exit the Backbone app and find the web app on your home screen. This again destroys the immersion of the Backbone app. It is trying to make things feel like a console experience, but with these two issues it fails to deliver that experience. I have no doubt in my mind that both issues can be solved through software updates, so I'd love to see it happen.”

“Backbone is a great product it’s just the matter of apps that you supply in the store, most I don’t know how to play I saw the video about not having an xbox and still able to play the games. I still can’t help me please You guys did a good job on your product”

“Will literally transform your iPhone into a full gaming device. I feel ultra connected to all my friends who are fellow Backbone owners thanks to the app hub and parties. My only actual complaint is that the right stick and trigger combo don’t feel as good for FPS/TPS games as a regular Xbox/PS controller night.”

“I love the backbone but I have found a few problems with it. When I stick a charger into the charging spot at times the controller disconnects. If I remove the charger and reconnect the controller it works. If I try to reconnect the charger the same thing happens. Don’t know if it is cloud gaming or not but if you open another app while trying to play cloud gaming sometimes the sound goes out.”

“I would have given 5 stars, but the only setback for me is using this with the iPhone 13 pro. The adapter was a good solution but the device is set in slightly crooked which is only aesthetically displeasing. As far as feel and functionality, this controller came full of surprises. Feels great in my hands (comparable to a more ergo switch controller) and the quality is competition worthy. I wish it extended a bit further so I could set my ipad mini in it but maybe that would be a nice upgrade in the future. Bottom line is that this thing is awesome. I would highly recommend!”

“The quality and how easy the controller was to use is amazing. The only downside to the product is the app has a hidden subscription service that it never disclose until you install the app. Granted you are still able to use the controller without the app subscription.”

“I like backbone but I have 2 criticisms, I wish I could use cloud play for stadia and Xbox through the app instead of having to open the separate respective app for both, also I wish the right thumb stick was above the buttons as that’s how Xbox controllers are and it feels more comfortable that way”
