I guess some people have a good experience, but that was not the case for us. The driver was very rude and disrespectful. Made the whole move even more stressful than it already was. It's a real shame...

I had a terrible experience with Quick Man and Van Company. They notified me of a driver change on the day of my move, but the new driver kept lying about his arrival time, making me wait on the street for 90 minutes. When they finally arrived, the driver brought an extra person, although I had only requested one driver. The drivers and customer service were absolutely rude and dishonest. They shouted at me and demanded that I help them load my items, which was against our contract. I hired a van and a man to move a standard dining table and chairs only. I agreed to help with the table, which needs two people, but not the chairs, which need only one person. They found me off guard on the street with no way to cancel the booking, so they refused to work. They handled my belongings carelessly, without any blankets, pads, or protection for my expensive table set. On the way to my house, I called the company to explain the situation and asked to pay the company directly since the drivers seemed unreliable. When they arrived near my house, they demanded payment before unloading, despite the contract stating in bold, “You will pay the driver £… in cash after the move is done.” I called the company multiple times to explain the situation, but they sided with the drivers and pressured me to pay upfront. When I tried to call the police, the drivers disappeared with my belongings. I could see behind their van that they had already damaged my items. The company refused to answer my calls or take responsibility. They did not return my items, and I lost a lot. To me it seems they literally stole my table set. I am now pursuing legal action against them. Avoid this company at all costs!

Our driver was on time. However, he was rude, unwilling to work and demanded more money to do the job or threatened to drive off with our boxes. He then demanded even more money when job was done.

DO NOT HIRE THESE SERVICES!! My driver was 3 hours late, unresponsive for the first 2 hours and then told me he’d overslept and would arrive in 20 minutes but when I called him 30 minutes later he hadn’t even left. He then said he’d arrive in 15 and got there 45 minutes later. He left me sitting on the street outside someone from gumtree’s house who was selling my a sofa for 3 hours in the freezing cold and never once apologised.

I feel we have been misled by the reviews that were on the website. We went for the driver that had the most high-ratings in our search. I am led to believe that these reviews were fake because I find that impossible as it was a horrible experience for us. A lot of furniture were destroyed in the move, including missing legs on tables which were crushed, as well as scratches on surfaces of all of our expensive wooden furniture. They dragged the furniture across concrete floors, instead of carrying them by hand, so the bases of the furniture have also been scratched very bad. They tossed my laptop bag onto the floor, when they could clearly see that they were laptops, too. We had a cat. In the van, unfortunately, the cat bag broke, and she got scared and hid under the seat for almost the whole journey and I could not get her out. As a joke, the driver said the cat is "finished", she is "gone", and "dead". I was very anxious about the safety of my cat and he made me feel very upset. Thankfully, my father brought a cat carrier to the destination and we were able to get her to her new home safely. When we arrived in Manchester, they made me feel uncomfortable because they were perving at women on the street and saying how beautiful they are, and even just staring at women as they drive past. This was horribly sexist. Lastly, they did not speak any English and could not understand basic questions such as, "how tall is the van?". I repeated it several times, even using body language to ask, until I used Google Translate for him to understand. We ordered a large van that shouldn't have been over a certain height, but we got an even larger van which meant we could not fit the van in the parking space of the destination. They got irritated when we arrived that they could not fit the van in the parking area, making the move even longer, which was not our fault. They also didn't know basic numbers in English. When we got to the storage unit, I was amazed at how poor they were at arranging the items in. Obviously, you would start with the larger items first and stack the smaller items, but they started with the smaller items and didn't even bother stacking boxes on top of each other, which was really confusing. I would like to be compensated, at least for the entire deposit we initially made, as damage was done and this was not a nice experience at all. I am also unsure if I could trust the website moving forward because out of the several house moves I have done in my life, this was clearly the worst experience. I am also physically sick. I had visible back pain, and they kept making jokes about me being crippled and even forced me to carry some heavy items when we hired them to do so. That was unacceptable. To top it off, the company accused me of lying about the language barrier. I used very broken English as I am used to talking to foreigners, but even that proved to be difficult. You can call the driver yourself and see if you can have a regular conversation in English with them. Their response: "It seems there is a small problem with your statement: you complain they didn't understand English, then you mention they made jokes about you - to be honest, making jokes in a foreign languages require an above average language skill. As well you mentioned they was staring at women on the street and saying how beautiful they are, I also wonder how you could understand what they say, based on your previous statement." You can make jokes with body language e.g. - mimicking my movements, and they didn't use full sentences e.g. using words such as "beautiful", and it's quite obvious when they have their gaze set on women and tracking them with their eyes that you can interpret it.
