Bought a new 5200 stove in December. Already having problems. The ash pan was damaged in shipping. But no big deal. Waiting on new one. The man problem is a gasket is coming out of the catalyst, and the fan blower is making noise. Squealing and rattling I have my doubts on how long it will last. Far as much as the stove cost you would think a little extra on the blower fan. They could make it a lot better maybe a three speed because on high it is very loud and the low speed does not move very much air at all. I do like the extra large firebox get very long burn time.

Ever since the install ( 2 yrs ago) we have been experiencing horrible smell, coming out of the insert. Every time we put the wood in, the smoke fills the entire house. This is not normal and can potentially cause lots of health issues. We recently heard that this new regency model with catalytic came out with defects and we are not the only ones with this problem. Regency must replace these defective units asap, before anyone files legal action against the company. Especially since they know about this problem.

Wish I could have better things to say. Max burn time so far has been ~5h, not the 8h claimed in the specs. My first unit was defective, and it took 6m before a replacement was installed. Regency was very resistant to providing it! I don't much like the rough finish. It's hard to clean, and came already somewhat marred. The blower is quite loud, but worse, has a turbulent sound that is quite annoying. Oh...and this website REALLY sucks too... Sigh.

I was expecting a much more effective stove. It does not provide the level of heat that a regular wood stove provides. Inserts are only decorative. Mistake, an expensive one.

the fire place Regency Hume Freestanding F250B works well for putting out heat however the rear cast iron liner plate has cracked in half in 2 places, given the purchase price of this high end large unit i would have expected much longer service life and the cost of a replacement plate at $200 is pretty rich, need to provide DIY service manual for your units too.

We hate this fireplace! It takes 20 minutes for the fan to come on It is noisy when it kicks off with constant banging, clicking and vibration sound The heat goes up in addition to out which means we cannot use our mantle for anything as it would melt or burn, The trim package that was used is ugly and fake /cheap looking Wish we had never spent this much money on it, def not worth it

I like its simplicity and the fact that it works. I don't like that the tech left the gas supply adjusted too high and so the glass is getting residue on it from unburned contaminants or from the paint or something. I'll have to crawl under the house myself and make some adjustments.

it's fantastic, we love it and it works quite well. That said the buying experience was only ok and I was promised a mail in rebate snd I never got it.

We recently purchased a Regency Classic F1150 wood stove and are so disappointed! The heat output is not what we expected based on the brochure. They advertise a burn time of up to 8 hours and we only get 3!! We have to set an alarm every 3-4 hours in the night. The firebox is so small that the ash builds up so much after two days that there’s no room for the logs, and the coals either spill out the front or pile up in the back causing the logs to roll out the door. We even found a cracked brick at the back after only 2 short uses! We had high expectations from regency and are very disappointed.

The Regency i2500 insert is a great centre piece on the main floor, and the use of the digital thermometer is quite handy. Though I don't know if this is due to poor installation or another factor but seasoned hard wood tends to burn up completely in a hour or two. This is after getting the fire going nicely for a few hours with the average stove temperture of over 500 celsius. The damper being almost completely closed and the catalyst engaged. One of the reasons my wife and I purchased the insert last year was due to the unit's wood burning efficiency and heat output. However as is the insert has to be refueled constantly. A fact I keep getting reminded of. In terms of heat input the i2500 has trouble keeping the main floor, open concept of about 1600 sq ft above 18/19 degrees celsius when colder than -8 degrees celsius outside. Though I suspect the unit is just too small for the floor space. The fan itself, as others have mentioned is loud on high and prone to rattle noises. Overall if I knew what I knew now I wouldn' have purchased the i2500.

Our technical team has been in contact with you about solving this issue. This issue is likely caused by an installation or environmental issue, causing the insert to draw faster than average. We are working with your dealer to have this taken care of. Please coordinate with your dealer to arrange for a service appointment to rectify this issue. Should you have any additional concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer care team at customercare@regency-fire.com.

Our fireplace insert is a welcome addition to our home. Heats a big house pretty well. We've had two negative issues. One was a terrible whistling noise, which we solved by putting foil tape over an airhole and repunching with a pencil (you can search online for this known issue). The other is the poorly designed blower fan. It rattles badly and works its way off the inadequate attachment system, falling on the floor periodically. the thermostat button also emits a high pitched rattle which we've fixed with foil tape on the edges. Still a constant battle with the bigger rattle on the days we need to use the fan.
