I was an avid user of Revolut and would always tell others to use it until I was left without access to my money in a foreign country.
I was unable to get into the app and therefore unable to speak to ANYONE. The only way to get in contact is via the in app chat and if this doesnt work, you will be without your money. I unfortunately was relying on my Revolut card when travelling around the Philippines and when it stopped working and kicked me out of the app I had no money and had to get money from other travellers and wire transfers (bare in mind this was at the start of the pandemic so was very difficult) to be able to get a flight home (which made trying to leave the country 100 times more stressful than it already was).
Safe to say, always have two backups and dont rely on banks that only have an app.
Two months after getting home they finally let me into the app and I transferred all my money out.”
“Super bad customer service, they grew too big and they dramatically reduced the service quality. After 2 years of business ubscritions I'm closing my account with them, not recommende anymore.”
“No support for bank transfers, debit card transfers, googlepay, etc. It - even a wire transfer didn't work. It was a waste of time and money. Use some other method and, although you may pay fees, it will be cheaper in the long run.
Customer service is extremely poor and when I actually got someone online (only), they were unable to assist with above issues.”
“don't sign up with them when you are a business - terrible experience all the way. Appalling customer service team and really poor communication: it took 1 month to set up my account and just now they closed my account down without allowing me to download the transaction history.
Oh and i can no longer chat to customer service team, in other words, i cannot contact my business bank at all - terrible service”
“I placed salaries payments 1 week ago and they didn’t come through. It is Christmas for the god sake, people have to be paid!!!! I had to say every day, “probably tomorrow, sorry it is Revolut” if you want to come through as unreliable employer and payer in front of your employees and suppliers-so go ahead work with Revolut. “I had my card swallowed up by an ATM in Turkey.
The Turkish bank asked for a fax from Revolut to be able to reutrn my card - Revolut refused to do this.
They offered to send me a card by express delivery, something I wasn't able to take up immediately.
A week later, when I was ready, I chatted to a series of incompetent people, who did not read the case history, did not bother to reply to questions fully. One chat with Revolut at the moment can take over an hour.”
“What an absolute shambles...call themselves a business. I've had no end of issues with this sorry excuse of an online platform! Had a tax refund sent to the Revolut account and due to previous problems with them, I quickly transferred the refund to one of my other accounts before I had to battle to get my money!!....Just as well because now I'm having trouble getting the rest of the balance I left in the account....No end of documentation they're asking for....completely over the top and totally unnecessary...they have you jumping through hoops!! I HAVE HAD TO CONTACT THE FCA AND THE FO. THEY ARE LOGGED AS BEING IN BREACH OF PROVISION 6 AND PROVISION 7 . THE FO HAVE ALSO STATED THEY HAVE ACTED UNLAWFULLY BY WITHOLDING BENEFIT MONEY.
THE TELEPHONE NUMBERS GIVEN TO THE FO ARE COMPLETELY AUTIMATED AND THE OTHER DOESN'T EVEN WORK.
BASICALLY, IF YOU EVER HAVE AN ISSUE WITH YOUR ACCOUNT, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET IT RESOLVED....LEAST OF ALL SPEAK TO AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”
“I tried today to contact the customer service online chat and I was warned by Rita (robot) that i have to wait roughly for 30 minutes. It is now 1 hour and 40 minutes and i am still waiting for a reply at the chat. Disappointed. There is no customer service at all.”
“Awful inexistent service - no fraud protection
Our accounts with Revolut have been compromised due to fraud activities. We called the revolut’s phone number immediately and no one answered, reported it immediately on the online chat they provide and despite our countless efforts for 10 hours, nobody has responded to us. 14,000 GBP have been stolen from our account and there is nobody from revolut who can assist or even respond to us. Shockingly bad service!”

“Awful customer service - never use them. It takes days for chat support to answer, which is unacceptable for a financial service platform.
Transfer times are a lie - they say a ‘day’ when you put the transfer in. Oops - later on, it’s 2-5 days.
Extremely bad user interface too. Don’t use them unless you want to be terribly stressed.”
