BEWARE – I sent my Lotus Hybrid watch to Ross Watch Repairs for a simple battery replacement and was offered an upgrade to a premium, Swiss-made battery. They claimed this battery would last 60% longer, came with a 12‑month guarantee, and persuaded me to add a mini service for £69.95 plus VAT. There was also a £10 postage and packaging charge, on top of my cost to send the watch to them. At the time, I was satisfied—after all, the premium battery had a 12‑month warranty, and the mini service was supposedly covered for 36 months. However, just 10 months later, my app alerted me that the battery needed replacing. I contacted Ross Watch Repairs expecting straightforward help under the warranty. Instead, I was passed between staff members repeatedly asked for receipts and proof of guarantee—even though all the details were clearly available in our WhatsApp messages. They refused to cover return postage, citing their terms and conditions, and then suggested the watch itself might be faulty, despite having serviced it less than a year ago. I ultimately took the watch to a local jeweller in Northern Ireland, who supplied, fitted and sealed a new battery for just £20. To my shock, the so‑called premium battery from Ross Watch Repairs turned out to be a Panasonic CR3032—made in Indonesia which is widely available on Amazon selling to the general public for around £9.29. In my view, the premium upgrade was a total con, the battery upgrade was misleading and the warranty was not worth the paper it was written on. I would not recommend this company.

Absolutely shocking service. They quoted for a watch repair, gave a price and timeline of 4-6 weeks. After 5 weeks they informed me the watch was ready for collection, then said there was a slight delay. After 2 months I was told it would be ready soon. After 3 months they said they were now waiting for a part but it would be ready soon. After enquiring after 4 months they announced they would not be fixing the watch. Zero proactive communication and misinformation when they were asked. A watch repair service that doesn’t repair and wastes your time. Utterly unprofessional.

If you value your watch at all DO NOT USE Ross Watch Repairs. I took my watch to be repaired initially as it had stopped working. When I went to pick it up, the guy working on it was on a video call on his phone at the same time as he was carrying out the repair. When he was finished I saw that there was a crumb of bread or pastry under the glass! He'd obviously also been eating whilst fixing my watch. I pointed this out, and I was told that the issue could be rectified but not immediately as he needed to 'ultrasonically clean the case', which was clearly not not true. All that was required was some attention to detail and for the crystal to be cleaned. On making a complaint, I was told that they would remove the crumb and I was to be offered a measly 20% refund. Against my better judgement, I agreed, but when the watch was returned there was still a grease spot on the glass where the crumb had been. At this point I complained again, but having lost all faith in RWR, I decided against taking them up on the offer of cleaning the glass. Lastly, as another reviewer has pointed out, their guarantee of work supplied with repairs is not worth the paper it's written on. These guys are cowboys. Avoid if you value your watch.

I am standing here where they should be open for 40 minutes and nobody is here. They haven’t bothered to repair my watch in 7 months. Their customer service is appalling. They can’t be bothered to do things so they ask me to email. Of course they never respond. Avoid like the plague

I put my watch in for a battery change. I was told it would be ready in 7 days. That was 14 days ago I called this morning and was told I would be called back with an update I did not get a call back and when I made another enquiry I was told to call back on Monday. If there is an issue why was I not informed, if you can't get the replacement battery why was I not informed. Customer service does not seem to mean much . I am very disappointed. £150 is a lot of money and I expect better service. I will not use your service again

Sent last year for a battery change. Watch returned working but after a few weeks stopped. Returned watch and was informed that the new vastly improved batteries they were using had an issue with the mechanism of my watch. (Mine cannot be the only one). I agreed to have the watch overhauled. Having not heard anything from them for months, I enquired if my watch had been lost. I was informed it hadn't but that it had to be sent to Cartier. I should have been informed of this. In May 2023, a reply to my email concerning whereabouts of my watch, I was informed, that I would be contacted when they had any information. I have repeatedly emailed and used WhatsApp to contact them but they do not have the decency to reply. I am wondering if my watch is lost.

Total shambles. Sent my Breitling for a mini service in January, watch was sent back following this service and testing and not working correctly. Sent watch back and was told it requires a complete overhaul...yeah a few days after a mini service and testing....hmmmmmm I agreed to the overhaul, sent watch off again, have chased countless times, frustrated at no response I asked if they had lost the watch. Was called back to say they had the watch in their hands and it hadn't been lost and were awaiting parts. Chased another few times, no response than after kicking off again I was told the watch had been sent to a Breitling specialist for repair and that they had told me that the last time we spoke....utter rubbish, I was told the watch was in Craigs hand, and he was looking at it....he even described the watch, the strap and the travel pouch it was sent in....someone is telling porkies somewhere. Last time I chased I was so frustrated I told them to shove the watch as that's 6 months now, lord knows where the watch is and the whole process has been a complete shambles. They now have a Breitling Chronospace, £195 for the mini service and hopefully a visit soon from the local trading standards team whom I have reported them to. Watch is about to be marked lost / stolen on The Watch Register with Ross Watch Repairs as the last people to have sight of it.

Absolutely scumbags who took advantage of my family. Swapped original parts for less valuable mechanisms. Stay well clear!!!

I booked my watch in for a new movement and sapphire crystal back in November 2021. I assumed it would be ready before Xmas but their stall in the Glades shopping centre disappeared due to their lease not being renewed when i phoned to inquire. Just had a text last Thursday to say its ready. I would have been happy with an apology for the long delay and a discount as a goodwill gesture, the perhaps I wouldn't be giving a bad review.

They have had the watch since September for a repair of a button and a full service, no updates in these last few months despite calling and visiting the Bromley branch a few times, I don't feel like they care about customer service at all and will not use this company again. No communication, no contact, no updates in months. And would not recommend.

As with last reviewer no zero stars. Similar experience as several reviewers. Sent watch - Longines - they received it I paid for it but no watch returned. Despite all avenues of communication - they seem to have disappeared. Very upset. I have now contacted Trading Standards, Citizens advice, and sent two recorded delivery items one being hard copies if all the emails I have sent, the other a formal warning before going down the courts road. If anyone wants to make group case perhaps we can co-ordinate.

I have a similar experience to the last two reviewers. Watch reported as being repaired. Payment requested to a private account - possibly the wife of Alec Ross the owner, which I made in good faith and I have heard nothing further. We should co-ordinate action as I suspect there will be a few complainants out there. contact me at peter moore photos (no gaps) (at) gmail dot com Optimistic that My watch will be returned in good order but hopes are fading

This company has been absolutely terrible, be aware. They have taken my watch and have had it now for over 3 months. I was promised it would only take a couple of weeks for a glass repair. After lots of chasing to work out where my watch was I finally had an email saying its ready and to make payment to an individuals bank account. (not a business account). I have asked for a photo of the repaired watch (as their kiosk in Tunbridge Wells is shut) and they have so far not replied. I genuinely don't know whether my watch has been stolen or not. I may have no alterative but to report a crime. Madness considering all I wanted was a simple repair.

I am still awaiting the return of my watch. It is impossible to contact anyone for information. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate. I am thinking of contacting the police as my next option?

Very poor service - I sent my Ebel watch to them for a battery replacement and it took 3 weeks to be returned. They also offered the watch to be re-polished at the same time for £30.00 extra, which I agreed to. When the watch arrived back the polishing was dreadful - The previously highly polished bezel came back with a dull satin finish. I had to send the watch back again at a cost of £7.50 which they will not refund. I would not use them again or recommend them. Very poor.
