“I got these for a surprise for my best friend because he loves learning out Japanese culture. What this has instead turned into is a really fun moment for us to try something new and to learn something else.
He gets so excited to read the booklets and learn the history about every snack. We lay them all out and talk about which ones we think we will like the best and get to try these flavors and experiences we normally wouldn’t. You can experience new worlds with food, and I love how Sakuraco delves into the history of each one. I feel like I’m getting to experience a tiny joy of another culture instead of reducing an entire history to a cutesy aesthetic (that is totally fun in small portions but it’s not everything). I also adore the tea and the tiny dishes. I didn’t realize it was plastic dishes at first but I don’t mind they are beautiful.
In totally this has become the highlight of my month every month and I’m so excited to extend it for longer.”

“Really lovely items! Compared to other subscriptions boxes I have seen, this has more of a mature snack/treat feel. I love the teas, and the snacks and accessories are quite nice; I will say though, that I greatly enjoy the “snack guide” booklet. Gorgeous photos and you get to learn more about Japan! I really enjoy reading the history related to some of these snacks. Some of these stores/cafe/shops have been around for a LONG time!”
