“A special box, real treat, coming straight from Tokyo, filled with sweet and savory delicacies the Japanese way. My 6-months subscription is worth it! #sakuraco #sakuracofall”
“We just started a subscription of SAKURACO because of a Tokyo Creative video. What drew me to this box was the more traditional Japanese snack variety. The December box was a huge hit and only lasted as long as it did because we limited the amount our girls could eat at one time so we could savor the flavors. I really enjoyed everything in the box. I am looking forward very much to the next box.”
“This month's box was the best box I've had so far. Gets better and better with each month. If you love tea I highly recommend this box. My husband gets Tokyo Treats for the sweets and I get this for a tea snacks, such a different variety.”
“This is an amazing gift to get a family member. All of the stuff inside is so good and very authentic. I love how all this stuff fits in the one box. This is the best thing I've ever received in the mail by far.”
“My granddaughter wanted the Sakuraco box for Christmas. I was curious so ordered one for myself as well. Some (matcha with genmaicha, walnut mochi, senbei, etc) of the items were really good. How can I order some more of those items separately? Noticed everything was fresh. Looking forward to the next box.”
“The 2021 December box was my first Sakuraco box. I was surprised how fast the delivery was. The snacks were all interesting, I got to try flavours I haven't before. The cakes are all my favorite, especially the Hokkaido Cream Bread. On the other hand, I couldn't eat the Red Bean Pudding, the texture and taste was too strange. I'd like to give another chance for the sweet azuki bean paste though, but maybe as a pastry filling. The tea, Matcha with Genmaicha was interesting. I don't like green tea in itself, but the toasted brown rice gave it a nice touch, so I enjoyed drinking this tea in the morning. The Ichimatsu Sake Cup is cute and the pattern's meaning is very moving, but I don't drink alcohol too often, I don't think I'll use it often, and I wouldn't dishonor the sake cup by putting dipping sauces in it. I'd love to see a tea cup or a snack plate in one of the upcoming boxes. The Hokkaido Milk Karinto was a little over-roasted-tasting for me. The White Chocolate Noir Cookies were too sweet, but I loved the easy texture. The Yubari Melon Chocolate Sandwich Cookies were a suprise! I thought it was going to taste like something cheap, I got suprised by the strong flavors. The Kobukoro Mochi was a pleasant suprise as well, I imagined it to have a very strong kombu flavour, but it was very delicious. I'm also glad my first sweet, chewy mochi was the Walnut Mochi. It was fun to eat, very good snack. Altogether, I loved my first Sakuraco experience! I can't wait the next box! ❤️”
“I absolutely love the Sakuraco boxes I've received so far. I am vegetarian, so I was a little disappointed that there were 3 snacks i couldn't eat in the December box, but my best friend absolutely loved them, so not too much of a loss I guess lol. The packaging for the pudding and kuzumochi were super cute and pretty and I thoroughly enjoyed all the vegetarian friendly snacks. I think my favorite was the melon sandwich cookie, so I can't wait to have more melon items in the future. I'm a little sad I missed the previous box that had more melon items, so I wish it was possible to just purchase previous boxes that I never had the chance to get since I didn't learn about this sooner. I was pleasantly surprised by the vitamin castella since I assumed it would taste like vitamins and rather enjoyed that it didn't lol, so that one was a very good addition. The Hokkaido cream bread made for a good and quick breakfast and my super picky boyfriend finally actually liked something when I convinced him to try the white chocolate noir cookies. Overall a wonderful box and I look forward to the next!”
“Just received the December box. We have been looking forward to experiencing this taste of Japan and were not disappointed. They included a beautiful booklet describing the prefecture the snacks were cultivated from and explaining the snack themselves. There was even a cute sake cup we can add to our collection. Can wait for the next box.”
“Received my 2nd sakuraco box and I am in love all over again! I am always so excited to open up my snack box since it is filles with delicious goodies that are beautifully packaged ! I always have so much fun reading the postcard and booklet, learning more about the culture and each snack. Highly rec !”
“I received my December 2021 Sakuraco box a few days ago. This is the first box I've received of any "snack box" type!
My first impressions... Wow! I was not expecting to get so many items, as well as a well thought out theme, and a pinch of Japanese history! I am thoroughly impressed with the taste and presentation of this box, and all the items pair so well together! Definitely looking forward to another box!”
“I love this box!!! I've only tried one of the snacks so far but it's so tasty!! the sake cup is beautiful and everything was safely and carefully packed. totally in love”
“The December box had a wonderful variety of treats from Hokkaido! The mix of salty and sweet was perfect and I felt like I really got a taste for the region. Plus the tableware item each month is such a fun surprise!”
“Sakuraco november’s box ranking of my favourites:
- Kumamoto Castle Under the Moon Chestnut Manju: perfectly sweet and soft. Too little for something so delicious!
- Chestnut Baumkuchen: soft and great to dip in tea.
- Chestnut Manju: similar texture to Kumamoto Castle Chestnut Manju with a noticeable chestnut shape and flavour.
- Amanatsu Citrus Jelly: sweet with a slight natural bitterness of real chunks of orange. Really nice.
- Fukamushi Green Tea: pleasant to the taste, doesn’t need to add sugar.
- Sweet Potato Karinto: a great combination of sweet potato and sugar, maybe a bit too hard.
- Honey Castella: a classical sweet and soft cake, goes very well with tea.
- Kumamoto Castle Ginko Pie: really sweet and small.
- Black Bean Senbei: more savoury than sweet with dry beans, crunchy.
- Daimaru Senbei: sweeter than savoury without beans, crunchy as well.
- Purple Imo Bread: soft purple bread with filling, bigger than other snacks. Perfect for sharing.
- Chestnut Jelly: similar to Amanatsu Citrus Jelly, puts together beans with chunks of chestnut. Never tasted such a combination.
- Brown Sugar Bolo: goes well with tea. Unfortunately, not impressive.
- Sweet Potato Monaka: two wafer cookies with a lot of sweet filling, a bit overwhelming.
- Brown Sugar Donuts: the most sugary, easier to dip in tea.
Overall, snacks share a similar autumnal theme and the selection is varied. Only con: I love that Sakuraco is determined to protect the parcel during the shipping, but I was a bit taken aback by the amount of plastic in wrapping. Now, I'm looking forward to next month! :D”
“A great box filled with yummy chestnut snacks and cakes! My personal favourite was the jelly with Azuki beans and chestnut paired with the matcha tea. I did think there could be a greater variety of savoury snacks next time instead of just senbei (maybe roasted chestnut snacks?) since most of the items of this box were sweet.”
“I was bone in japan “kiyoshi “ area. i want to you consider next time pick up green tea. you should add kyushu famous green tea “Yame -cha” not “shizuoka green tea”
But over all, The box make me really happy !!”
