SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. “Par rapport aux concurrents du marché dans la détection des crises d'épilepsie, c'est plutôt pas mal car cela détecte différents types de crises d'épilepsie et pas seulement les crises tonicocloniques, contrairement aux capteurs de mouvements à placer sous le matelas ou les capteurs de rythme cardiaque ou saturation en oxygène à porter, qui en plus sont plus invasifs. Mais il y a des points qui pourraient être améliorés : la qualité de l'image, l'intuitivité du paramétrage, la possibilité de dessiner une zone de détection personnalisée pour les personnes épileptiques qui partagent leur chambre avec d'autres, et proposer l'application en diverses langues.”

“The Sami provides us some peace of mind at night. I wish that you could turn off the iPad light because it gets bright at night but I put something over it to cover the light instead.”

Hi Stacia! You can use the clock mode to hide the live view and then dim the screen so it's essentially black. It will still open to the live feed if you touch the screen or an alarm goes off! Just click on the clock button in the bottom left of the live view screen and then slide your finger across the screen to the left to dim the brightness! Hope this helps :)

“SAMi has given us peace of mind that we didn’t have before. To be able to watch our daughter from anywhere in the house without having to go in her room and risk waking her up has been a game changer for us. The alert system has helped us catch seizures that we wouldn’t have caught otherwise and allowed us to intervene and help our daughter. While no seizure monitor is perfect, this one comes very close. “Love my Sami camera, helps me monitor my child and when I’m not looking at the camera the alarm is loud and alerts me to check on the child. Night recording and day recording are clear and it has different settings that I can customize. Highly recommend it for children who have nocturnal seizures.”

“The camera quality is EXCELLENT, I can see my child breathing and blinking very clearly. I have more peace of mind knowing I have access to him at all times. The only downside is I have been unable to adjust the settings to not be so touchy, the alarm is going off almost constantly, when I turn down the sensitivity it didn’t catch his seizure. I’m sure this is a guessing game and will resolve though!”

“I must begin by saying this is a truly phenomenal system and I am grateful it exists. My little one has seizures in his sleep and while it seems I will never sleep again, it has given me so peace of mind. My system began from day one with a 2-3 second lag from real time events and has progressively gotten worse (currently ~18-20 second lag). I have tried to reset the system and completely unplug each piece (router/camera/iPad) with no success on fixing the delay. Recently, the camera as been on but the iPad will alert me that the camera is not found or the screen will go black for 10-20 seconds. We have the separate router for the camera and even put our son in our room now so the unit pieces are closer. It is a bit concerning as this is a new problem and I hope it doesn’t get worse. I still love it but wish I could fix that.”

“We are having a hard time using the router since we already have one in our home. Using a second router is affecting our Wi-Fi and security cameras. We will have to trouble shoot to see how we can make it work. Otherwise, I loved the clarity of the camera and the alarm system.”

“In the short time we have had the SAMI kit, it has worked well. It took some time to hone in on the exact settings we were looking for, but now it appears to capture and notify us appropriately when seizure activity is occurring. We are thankful for SAMI!”

“We have been using SAMi for a couple of weeks now. The function of the camera has been consistent and reliable. Being able to know I'll be woken up if my son has a seizure is a game changer for him with his safety and health. My only complaint is that you have to have to iPad screen on all the time for the camera to function. They have a "clock" mode, but it still leaves the screen on and sucks 30%-50% of your iPad's battery overnight. So make sure you have a full charge every night, or you might not get a notification of there is movement. The other part that did bother me about this, is that I don't remember seeing any information before I bought the product about needing to leave the screen on all the time. I hope this is able to be improved in the future. All that said, if you plan ahead this is a good product for the safety of someone who needs monitoring at night when sleeping.”
