SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. Within seconds, the individual or caregiver can take any necessary action. “This camera hands down is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 14 months old. My world was turned upside down and I was so afraid to not be in the same room when she napped because that's when her seizures we're happening. Then we found the SAMi. It is truly worth every penny! This camera alerts us when there is possible seizure activity or when there is a lot of motion. In fact one night around 11pm the camera alerted us that my daughter was having a seizure and we were able to help her and also later show the neurologist the recording. Unfortunately she has several different types of seizures but everytime she has a seizure she is looking to the right so we know the seizure is starting from the left side of her brain. The picture quality is phenomenal you are able to zoom in and out and all the settings are easy to adjust to what you feel is necessary as far volume, and sensitivity. This camera has given us greater piece of mind when my daughter is sleeping in the crib. We have also traveled with this camera on overnight trips. It is straight forward and simple to set up. And I seriously can't imagine what I would do without this camera! I HIGHLY recommend this camera!!!!!”

“Our son was diagnosed with benign Rolandic epilepsy, which happens only in his sleep, we were faced with a lot of sleeplessness nights, watching over him to make sure he was okay. While researching we found Sami and after 2 weeks of sleepless nights we made the purchase and I’m so glad we did! It had been a life saver. Our son has had 3 seizures since, all caught by Sami. The Sami device alerted us each time, very quickly. It also recorded the seizures and we were able to send them to the neurologist so he could review.”

“In September 8th 2025 my 5 year old daughter started having focal seizures for the first time in her life. From there to January 6th of 2026 her seizures were very other day so with all this we could sleep much waking up on every move or twitch that my daughter had during her sleep was making us sleep deprived. When looking for information about Epilepsy because that was her diagnosis focal loca epilepsy, I was looking for something that could alert us when she had an episode but unfortunately there wasn't much until I saw in one group of epilepsy supporters about SAMi. SAMi has given us the opportunity to get back to normal a little bit having more time to sleep and not have to worry so much about our girl having a seizure during her sleep. So thank you SAMi for this and for caring about every single person who has epilepsy or seizures.”

“The Sami3 has been amazing for me. Not only does it show her seizures but I found out my 9 year old (globally infant) from going over the videos from a night that she was not sleeping good. Dr added melatonin for now to get her to sleep and she’s sleeping a lot better. Thanks you so much for this incredible tool.”

Setup was simple and the app is easy to use, which makes checking the camera and reviewing clips quick and convenient. “This Sami camera is really pretty awesome. The Customer Service has been so helpful. I’m grateful that they called me to help me set this up. I needed that after trying to do it on my own and failing. It’s difficult to detect my son’s seizures with this camera, but having the capability to be notified just by his sounds as good enough and then to have it recorded. That is so helpful because I have never had a true recording of his seizures during the night and he is 29 years old. Thank you so much for making this!”

“Our daughter has epilepsy, and even though she hasn’t had a seizure during her sleep, as a mom I still worry a lot. After buying this camera, I can relax a little more. It works very well. She usually wakes up during the night, and it alerts us. What’s especially nice is that I can go back to the recordings and make sure it’s not seizure activity. It was easy to figure out the settings, and we are very happy with this purchase. It took about 7-10 days to be delivered but we ordered around new years time. Also, to make sure we have a great connection we bought the router too. It works very well.”

“We were so excited to get the SAMi but it goes offline all night and disconnects causing alerts all night. I know there is an additional router to purchase but after troubleshooting with our tech guy, nothing else we have hooked up to our wifi cuts out over and over. I wish that if it was a common issue that the monitor automatically came with the router. We had already spent thousands on monitors so now we would have to buy the router for our SAMi to work at all.”

“Sami has given this family peace of mind and were able to sleep at night knowing we'll be alearted if our son has a seizure. He has Nocturnal seizures. It has been really stressful for the last year and a half because you never know when a seizure is going to happen. There are no words to express how thankful I am as a mother having this Sami device.”

“Sami device is sooooo much better than the typical monitor. It took about 2 weeks for us to trust the device. We are sleeping better and can actually be in another room without worrying about him having a seizure without us knowing. Setting the device alarm to different alarm settings depending upon movement is awesome. We lower it at night with higher during the day.”

“I could rave more about the SAMi. We had a small issue with it after the first few months of it and customer service helped out immediately, emailed and called to troubleshoot. I have never felt so taken care of by a company, which I am eternally grateful for considering how important the SAMi is in our household. My son (four) even reminds us to make sure it’s working before he goes to bed.”

“I just set up the sami camera so a review isn't quite a fair oppinion. I would change features to suit me personally. Over I like been able to monitor movement at night, I like being alarted to anything that's out of the ordinary. At some point I'm hoping to fine tune the camera so my son can move back into his room.”

“I love that we have this and great full we received it as a gift. It captures every seizure however I'm finding that it don't alarm for 3/4 of his seizures and i can't figure out why. If I adjust the settings it goes off for every movement and if I keep it where it is it's missing 3/4 of his seizures. I can't find a happy medium anywhere. He had 11 seizures and it went off for 2 of them all were over the 30 second mark where it's a happy medium. It makes me want to give it up.”
