SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. Within seconds, the individual or caregiver can take any necessary action. SAMi will not only reliably alert you to abnormal movement, but automatically records high quality video and audio of the event, providing invaluable video evidence for Neurologists, Epileptologists, and other Healthcare providers to accurately diagnose and prescribe effective treatment plans. “It seems that SAMi it's a quality product, but not the type of product for Focal or Partial epilepsy. I find it hard to retrieve recordings or alarms that could help me.”

“We are so grateful to have the SAMi. It's only been a few weeks and we are both getting some sleep. We are still troubleshooting how many seconds to allow for my daughter to exit her bed before the alarm alerts me. The years of experiencing nocturnal seizures without warning is like a nightmare with no wakening from it. The past year my daughter begain to exit her bed and stumble around her bedroom and entering the bathroom sustaining injuries as she roam. I would be awaken by the noise resulting from a door slaming, a fall that caused a knee injury and other bruises on her arms , legs, bump on the forehead from hitting the corner of a wall etc. We had monitoring systems that captured the events that was useful for the Doctors and terrified us as we reviewed them. Now with SAMi, I can make it to her room "BEFORE" to attempt to prevent life altering injuries by using cool water, cool packs and giving her an emergency nasal spray to help interupt the seizure. Just last week we caught 3 recordings of her getting out of the bed. The system is still new to me and I initially thought it was malfunctioning because it went off nearly every 2 hours....SAMi registered what I couldn't see or hear (prior to it's installation) and sounded the alarm. We are only a few weeks into use and SAMi has contributed to my being available in time and likely has saved my daughter's life. Saying thank you Sami is not enough. We thank the Creator of all the universe for everyone that contributed to the making of this seizure monitoring system and the kindess of all who helped make it accesible to our family.”

“We are so happy with the SAMi. Our daughter started having focal seizures at age 2. We got the camera just after she turned 4 to watch her at night bc I was not getting any sleep. We are able to set the sensitivity settings pretty high so we can catch a focal seizure which isn’t as obvious as a tonic clonic. It catches her eye movements and slight twitches but we set it to 15 secs of activity before an alert so it’s not going off all night. We have not had a seizure since getting the camera but I am confident the camera would alert us if she opened her eyes for an extended period of time which is what she does with her focals.”

“As a parent of an LGS warrior SAMi has changed our lives. My night fear of sleeping while he sleeps are gone, less hovering and most importantly sleeping in separate rooms. I guess this is the closest to a “typical” night sleep we’ve ever experienced.”

You can use the audio feature called "Background noise reduction" to reduce the audio echo from noises in the background.

“We rely on the SAMi monitoring system to alert us if our nine-month-old daughter is having a seizure while sleeping. The camera works well and paired with the iPad and router, it has been flawless. We did have issues with the camera after the first few months, but the support team at SAMi was very responsive and got us set up with a new kit after working with us to troubleshoot the issue. The business clearly cares about the product and understands the situation its customers are in. The customer service is excellent and I would recommend this monitoring system to anyone looking for a way to keep an eye on loved ones while they sleep. I’m ordering a second camera to set up at daycare, to be used at naptime.”

“This is a great tool for monitoring seizures. My daughter is afraid to be alone while sleeping. To watch over her and help her sleep I have another bed in her room so I can sleep in her room. Now I am able to be alerted without being in her room if she has a seizure. This has helped her a lot. It records any seizure activity and I can save the videos to share with her Dr.”
