“I’ve replaced all our bedding with Secret Linen 100% linen bedding and on the whole I am happy, a duvet cover supplied torn being replaced quickly and without issue. However the duck egg duvet covers ordered are both far too large for a standard duvet, the linen hangs way below the duvets which looks awful and the duvets move around inside the covers which is uncomfortable. I did return these items but they were sent back to me with a polite explanation that the large size was within the companies tolerances. I just wish it was within mine. My mixed experience reflects the three stars and the possibility of poor fitting is something to be wary of.”

“I was very pleased with two duvet sets that I bought. As a repeat customer, I was however very disappointed that deep full single fitted sheets were substituted for European single fitted sheets. During my online chat I was highly specific that O wanted the generously fitting European size that I had previously purchased. Very disappointed that you have soured a good relationship.”

“The overall buying process was smooth and as expected. Some of the styles/sizes weren't available so I had to contact customer service and was told they are stopping making the housewife pillow cases. I think it would be useful to have this on the website so people are clear about this up front. The products themselves were lovely. I ordered a couple of sets of sateen bedding. The bedding feels soft, and the look - luxurious, which you would expect for this sort of money. The bedding does crease relatively easily, but personally I don't find that such an issue. What I don't like however, is the fact that where I move and turn in my sleep, I have noticed pilling/bobbling on the underside of the duvet cover after only a few weeks which I am disappointed with. Luckily this isn't seen, but perhaps wouldn't have expected this from something that is supposed to be high quality.”

“Disappointing. Wasn’t as soft as I thought it would be. The white pillowcases felt like a different material to the duvet cover and fitted sheet which felt coarse and scratchy.”

“Whilst the bed linen is well made, the pillowcases in cotton percale shrunk so much after the first wash on 40degrees as per your recommendation, and are now too small for my pillows. The envelope closing is also rather mean. The fitted sheet also shrunk but it’s a better fit now. So rather disappointed considering price charged.”

“The quality of the linen duvet cover is great, delivery was prompt. However the double duvet cover is bigger than a standard double meaning my duvet moves around inside it. Looks great but gets frustrating when it all bunches up! Id hoped it would maybe shrink post washing which it hasn't, I guess would be good if it was the right size!”

“I was a huge fan but my latest purchase was disappointing, please can you sell in MATCHING PAIRS, not as single curtains, my order was 2 white linen curtains but one was whiter than the other and one was thicker linen and not as soft as the other, would have returned but started to hem before I compared against each other, I presumed they would be the same but they were obviously from different batches.”

“Hi. Mixed feelings. Really liked the product I’d ordered. But, as I’ve conveyed to Secret Linen Store by email, what happened next was baffling. I was sent a loyalty discount code with my product. I decided immediately to buy some accessories with it. However, this in fact resulted in less of a discount than what was currently being offered to the general public on the website at that time. The checkout computation was more, so in essence I was being charged more for my loyalty. That’s really strange customer service and I duly didn’t make the purchase, nor am I inclined now to shop with you again or recommend you to others, even though I liked the initial product.”

“The service is great. However I have been driven mad by whatever I order turning up and not being the colour I expected. 3 purchases, 3 disappointments. The conclusion I have come to is that without fabric samples to look at I am never going to get this right as it is impossible to get anything accurate from an internet picture. So I am going to wait until proper shops open again and I can actually see what I am buying. No more internet frustrations! And I can’t be bothered to keep sending stuff back either - I just now have a load of very expensive dust sheets. (Sorry for the grump).”

“I thought the website was absolutely great but I felt the samples were a bit amateur.. they took quite a while to come (I am still waiting for two!) and they were all different sizes and just in an envelope. It would have been nice if they were all the same size and maybe in a box. They didn’t feel as special as I thought they would…!”

“My experience with Secret Linen Store started well and didn't end so well! Despite a few issues with the ordering process at the start, which was dealt with brilliantly, the delivery arrived quickly and well packaged. However, after washing the duvet and the pillow covers in the machine once before using it, all the garments' seams were giving out cotton away and turned into little balls. I didn't notice till it dried and then starting using them. Balls of cotton went everywhere and were quite annoying and messy. I can understand that there are sometimes faulty garments. So I contacted customer service to let them know about the issue, which shows poor quality. , it was not a nasty email but just to let them know about the problem for future reference. Did I get an email back with concerns and perhaps an answer and help to remedy the problem or even a little sorry? No, I didn't, which left me in the dark and made me think, great customer service when they want the order but not after the order is delivered. It might be an oversight, but in the meantime, I possibly won't order anymore and still have a bitter taste in my mouth.”
