“I suppose I was expecting too much, but I found that trying to identify the centre of the rail end was frustrating in the extreme, surely a simple template to go with the kit would be much easier. Also, both rails had splits to the ends. One I managed to cut off without shortening it too much, but the other it too long to do that. So I am left having to fill the split with filler and hope not too many people notice it. Why didn’t I complain? Because being a cynic I feel sure that the response would be that I had somehow managed to damage it myself. Pity, because the rails look good when fitted.”

“visited Simple Handrails at their warehouse, the staff were extremely helpful showed me examples of the different woods used in their handrails so i could make an informed choice. I ordered two handrails for my stairs in oak together with the brackets and fittings, they were delivered to my home on the day i requested well packaged. A very smooth purchase of quality materials, would definitely deal with Simple Handrails again.”

“The item was quickly delivered but with some damage. Fortunately the rail needs to be cut down so the area of damage will be removed to no lasting effect to the rail. Returning the rail and waiting for a replacement is not necessary in this case but I feel you Sheila know that the delivery company had not transported the rail carefully enough.”

“Very pleased, it looks good and is a solid safety necessity as we get older. However, nothing is perfect: I had to use different wall plugs as those supplied were not suitable for my walls. Not a big deal.”

“The rail is almost what I wanted. I did ask for it to be cut shorter, which was agreed but not done. I'm sure it was just a small oversight and we have cut it ourselves, so not a big problem. The end caps do not go over the ends of the wood as I expected but fasten up to the ends. Overall it's fine & looks good.”

“Ordered two 2 metre handrails. The rails and fittings are both very sturdy and are supplied with long screws to install into the wall. I would recommend these when comparing them to any DIY shop alternatives.”
