“Total scammers!!!!!
Be warned!!! Can’t get in touch with them!!!
Called my bank .. they can’t stopped them. I never authorised them .. it was a promotional thing on my gym app. Just pay postage for £1 and get a box free. After that they keep taking money from my account. Please stay away from this company!!! I’m so angry!!”
“I received a box. Basically just some sauces. Not impressed. Also, I read stuff to check for any hidden subscriptions and I have no idea how I missed this one. It all seemed a bit underhanded. I honestly think the only way they make money is through this sneaky subcription which I think is pathetic.”
“I would advise people who subscribed to the simply cook scam to contact there bank like I did and get the scammers blocked from accessing there bank accounts & from being able to take direct debits .you cant cancel the subscription because they are theiving scammers. Who ask you to pay £1 postage for the free pk of ingredients and recipes to get your bank details. Then set up a direct debit to steal your money from the card used to pay the £1 postage and falsely sign you up to simply cook subscription so they can keep taking money from.the card you used to pay the £1 postage with. They didnt succeed with me because I immediately rang my bank who immediately blocked simply cook from accessing my bank account and from being able to take any money and scam me.”
“Thieves : THIS IS A SCAM!!!!! Do not do the sign up offer. Can not log in on the website, can not cancel the subscription, nobody replies to emails or letters and yet they keep taking my money.”
“Responded to a free offer but got the process wrong and managed to order a box. They offered a refund if I sent it back. Sent the wrong box back so no refund meanwhile they have sent me another box full of meat recipes ( I am veggie). So I have ended up paying 19.98. Not holding my breath for a refund!”
“SCAM!! Impossible to cancel after they falsely subscribed me when I ordered a free box. Will be taking further action. They say to email to cancel, but no replies. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!!!!”
“Rubbish !!!!!I ordered the 3 pound trial box and was under no illusion that I had subscribed !!!no email confirmation nothing !!these people are fraudulantely taking money out of my account twice in one week !!!!! I want a refund for something I sure as hell did not sign up for !!!!!! Thieves!!!I will be taking further action.”
“If you think this is a recipe box its not. Very deceptive and also very hard to cancel. Horrible people horrible company looking to make a quick buck. Avoid them.”
“I tried to cancel my order 20 minutes after placing it .. it was supposed to be a free trial box .. i have been charged £9.99 I have emailed 9 times in the last 4 days .. I am still getting emails from Vikki to say my box is on its way ... I cannot cancel yet because I am still in my 7 day trial period .. I am dissapiinted in myself for getting involved with this company ... their customer service stinks ... I will get my money back I will go to my credit card company and get it back that way .. its the principle that you cannot call this company and only have emails to make contact .. nothing comes back apart from the generic reply ... get your act together and treat your customers as customers and not morons stuck with you”
“I emailed to cancel my subscription but was still charged £9.99 because I hadn’t clicked on the link they’d sent back to cancel the subscription. An email cancelling the subscription should be enough to cancel the subscription I’m sure trading standards would agree and Martin Lewis.”
“They make cancelling ridiculously difficult. I’m sure they must be only just on the right side of the law. Sneaky. And the one meal I’ve tried so far was very bland.”
“Be weary. I feel tricked into signing up after partaking in one of their trial/offers through an external service.
They then make cancelling hard.
Arguably, I should have known better, but when companies have to rely on tactics like this I'm not sure how much to trust them more generally.
Just be aware when engaging in any of their offers...”
“Do you really want to subscribe to a company that hides the cancel subscription box when you first subscribe and then does this when you use the button to cancel (yes you click cancel to continue cancelling)”
