I love my PRO model but ,I have a question. Can a SIONYX PRO be mounted on a rifle looking thru a red dot scope? If not then can it be used for hunting as a scope?

Duane - please see the e-mail I sent you directly. You can certainly use the Aurora behind your sight as illustrated in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX1w4DHPN-E You will need to be able to move the Aurora far enough back to achieve a good focus, and the output of the sight will be a small fraction of the total sensor area (field of view) of the Aurora. So depending on your configuration, your results and usability may vary. SIONYX Customer Service E: Support@sionyx.com P: 866-827-8237

The wifi conection is very large i find this makes it dangerous you have to use the hard wire conection and being an analog conection makes it hard to find a compatible screen as most screens are digital catch up with the times and technology sionyx

I would give the order process a 4 or more, but I played hell, to getting the order recognized. Then getting it to accept that I ordered so I would qualify for the illuminater and the rebate was just about impossible. I do not understand why if I ordered from the sionyx website that qualifying for the illumater and rebate was not automatic. Instead I had to make a copy of the order sionyx already had and submit that on a separate order to qualify. However the product was delivered very quickly and in good working order.

A zoom feature would be nice. An IR emitter that reaches out more than 50 feet, 300ft or more Preferable. Other than that it works pretty much as advertised.

Maybe 4 stars, delivery was quick as camera was in Singapore, Camera is wonderful and bright, never seen the Milky Way like this, only concern is the March redemption for IR torch, had no information 3 weeks since purchase, I did ask about it but was referred back to the promotion page and I'm confused as to whether I receive money back or the Torch, guess I'll find out in another 3 weeks!

Site is difficult to navigate and information is down too many tabs. It's there, but you have to be looking for it. A model/spec forward layout would be much more helpful vs. a testimonial forward layout.

Works okay but not really usable for hunting on an AR which is why I got it. Gives a good resolution for a night vision picture. The screen does pick up a full color view of what your looking at. However the screen is small and there is a lag to real time. Also the screen cause my eyes to unadjust to the natural night vision as the screen sends a lot of light into the eye. So when you take camera away from your eye your left with a over exposed Retina. Okay for the money I would recommend spending more and getting real night vision equipment for hunting or shooting. This works well as a night vision viewing scope.

The camera works great, but the light that came with it was messed up. When I addressed this they immediately sent me a new one, but that one was also broken in the same way.

I"m the one that did the big IR light on the boat on They hull truth. Its a good bang for the buck at 3 or 4 hundred dollars but in pure dark conditions without a IR your on your own. With a small abundent light the camera works will still have not got it to connect to a tablet phone is all. need easier softwear so more tablets will upload. I bought two thinking I could upload it , it wouldn't. Its on the back burner for now.

The unit it turns out works fairly well. BUT, mine came WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS! I had to get my daughter to search you tube on how to put the battery in. There was no documentation at all anywhere period. We finally got some from the website and it is ok. Screenshots and abbreviated instructions. No in depth information and a lacking troubleshooting section as I had a combination that was not listed. Abysmal instructions for connecting to a cell phone or tablet but they can be worked through. Also sorely lacking is a lens cover or protective shield for it. There is an aftermarket one, but we are I. The us and it’s in the UK so cost and shipping is astronomical. The company reached out quickly and I am glad, that automatically earns another star just for caring. I will try the links provided and see what happens. Fussing through things the performance wasn’t that bad at night. I am familiar with high end NV and Thermal as well as hybrid systems and white phosphorus based tubes. The look is different, the color is nice, resolution leaves much to be desired. I will have to try it out at the ranch this upcoming week and will have a much better update.

It was irritating to look through the instructions (tiny print) and find no link info on battery loading. Web site was good - just add one piece of paper with link to quick start to correct.

Overall this product was a disappointment for the money spent and there was clearly a lack of attention put into human engineering or operational application. It does have good color night vision and functions as described in that regard. The images are also far sharper than any image intensifier based device. While the image quality is good, the night/twilight/day selector is small and difficult to manipulate even without gloves, and the lens adjustment is easily bumped out of position when attempting to adjust the N/T/D switch. This is definitely below par for hunting or tactical use due to the direction arrow controls being so small, making them difficult to manipulate when wearing all but nitrile gloves or perhaps tight fitting pilot’s gloves. Typical Nomex gloves or Mechanix type protective gloves will make this problem worse. It is also a sound and light discipline disaster, due to readily visible green and red LED’s on initial startup, combined with a zingy noise. You shouldn’t have to be an operator to realize this; any hunter or surveillance specialist will pick this out as a problem immediately. This will give away your position day or night so attempting to use this for law enforcement, security, or military surveillance is a mission failure waiting to happen. These should be disabled from the start and require a menu selection to enable them. Another point of failure is loading and unloading the battery. The rear end has to be removed and has no retaining cord, strap, or cable. If you were attempting to change batteries in a moving vehicle or during a high stress situation, this could easily get away from you, possibly putting your NVD out of action. The release lever for the end cap / battery access is also very difficult to operate when you are wearing gloves, probably impossible for someone with big fingers plus gloves. The “instructions” are a flimsy folded piece of paper with tiny printing that is difficult to read in all but bright light conditions. For the amount of money this cost I’m irritated that Sionyx couldn’t provide an instructional CD or mini-disc with a PDF instruction manual, let alone print a proper instruction booklet, even in black and white. I’ve paid less for other NVD’s and IR/visible lasers that come with a paper manual that provides more information in a format that doesn’t require magnifiers to read comfortably. It also wouldn’t have cost the manufacturer too much to throw in one of the Picatinny mounts with the package deal, especially since another manufacturer sells 3 different heights for $1 more. Next time, Sionyx, please do better research and look at some mil-spec gear to avoid the problems inherent to the Aurora not-so-pro.

Product did OK but there was no documentation. I mean zero documentation. I know everyone likes it online but while you are on a boat at night it is hard to look at your phone to figure your camera out. I purchased a 64gb chip and of course it did not work so I had to go return it which I personally hate and get a 32gb chip. If I would have had some documentation they might have told me that you could not buy bigger than a 32GB chip.

You pay $700 for something, you should at least get the neck strap & microfiber bag included. Instead, you have to pay for the $800 camera to get those basics. Also, not even a quick-start guide is included but the CYA notice in 24 (yes: twenty four) languages is printed & in the box. It kinda makes me wonder: if the budget is evidently so tight that these small items are purposely excluded & they want to cover themselves in 24 languages, where else were corners cut?

Very nice design. Clean user interface. Delivers as night vision but closer to Gen 1+ rather than Gen 2 or 3: in a moonless night with little to no light, it really struggles against a proper Gen 2 or Gen 2+. Overall, product is great, and a good companion for most uses. I wish the lens barrel was made out of metal or more heavy duty material like a pro camera lens. Overall 7.5 to 8 over 10

Although the price is right for a night vision optic I was disappointed in the fact that perhaps due to my incomplete knowledge of light amplification but if there is not sufficient moonlight or other ambient light outdoors or indoors for that matter the unit is useless you need some light to amplify and I guess I should’ve realize that before purchasing but I wasn’t out all that much so I’ll give it three stars and it has limited usefulness but it is what it is

They don't carry any extra cases for those who aren't able to purchase or find the Full explores kit. I had to order a case from a different company which I didn't really want to do. I ordered the rifle mount last week and just got a confirmation email today telling me it's getting ready to ship i needed it for this weekend. I understand that this whole Covid19 has got our world turned upside down. Thank the media for Driving Fear and Panic across our world when they forget God's Still in Charge. The lens cover i ordered the same day from Lyons den arrived yesterday they have Outstanding customer service. I contacted Soinyx about trying to purchase a case and a few other items but no luck. I would have gladly paid for what I needed and wanted. I spoke to one of their employees who was trying to get me a case but received a email stating I couldn't get on and their trying to put kit's available for sale.

Sziasztok! A termék kitűnő! Elégedett vagyok. A gyàrthatnàtok hozzà sisakszereléket is! Ami beszerezhető màsodkézből az sajnos utònunkàt igényel. Eléggé körülményes. A szàllítàs nagyon lassú! 4 hónapot vàrtam rá a fizetés utàn! Gondolom a hajò közben kétszer megkerülte a földet. Sajnàlatos még, hogy nem érdemes a honlapròl rendelni. Vàmot is kellett fizetnem, mert nem lettem àtirànyítva egy Euròpai viszonteladòhoz. Úgyhogy összeségében ezért 3 * . Figyeljetek erre jobban a jövőben! Tisztelettel Àrvai István

I bought an original Aurora with the pre-holiday sale. There was something weird with my card, and I finest you all about it - the responses were prompt and professional. The camera was shipped quickly and arrived promptly - good stuff. Even dealing with the rebate and illuminator taking awhile to ship, Justin was responsive and helpful. Again, great customer service. The bad? I was sent a survey shortly after getting my camera. In that survey I let y'all know that it was kind of obnoxious to keep the Pro model unavailable through the holiday sale, only to make it available for purchase pretty much immediately after the "holiday sale" ended. I can guess at why you folks did this - clear out the stock on products there's going to be much much less interest in as soon as the Pro is available - from the consumer end, it was a frustrating move. I, like many others, would have skipped the holiday sale and just gotten the pro had you made it available before the holidays. But what was particularly unprofessional was the response I got from William, who seemed personally offended by my feedback. Through a series of emails, he offered to "buy back" my camera if I wasn't happy with it. It was like pulling teeth over the course of something like 8 emails back and forth to get the details of what this "offer" actually was (he neglected answering my really straightforward questions to clarify what was being offered through multiple emails) - he didn't mean a return and then an exchange/refund - Will meant I would send my camera back to be assessed by him, and he would then pay some amount to be determined based upon inspection that I could then apply towards a Pro. It would have been better of William had just taken my criticism as helpful customer feedback - I was fine with my purchase, just a little put off by having bought a product that was almost instantly no longer top-shelf. Instead we had this bizarre exchange that left me questioning whether I'd want to deal with, or recommend you folks again. If Will was going respond and offer something, the customer friendly response would have been to offer an immediate exchange and send me the invoice to pay the difference in cost FYI. Not responding would have been just fine too, and then all I'd remember were the good interactions.
