“I have used the Opsin now for about a year and a half. For my use case, it is preferred over analog. Border operations are vastly enhanced and the ability to record and see color at night is something the team relies on. To differentiate individuals (exa. "looking for the guy with the blue backpack") and to call out gps coords with a relative compass heading on the spot is so fast and handy. Analog guys are essentially disadvantaged in every situation out here except in New Moon situations or heavy cloud cover, and they rely on me. I do keep a pvs-14 monocular as a backup device for those situations, but I lose a lot of functionality, and prefer to use the Sionyx in most situations.”

“I bought three Aurora Black cameras. Gave one to my son who loves it. Spots havalina and coyotes when walking his dog at night. I use mine for dark sky viewing. Dollar for dollar, they can’t be beat. Plan on getting a few Aurora Pro units.”

“I used my night wave for the first time last week. It worked great. At 10:00 PM we were on the Chesapeake Bay in MD and had no problems seeing like it was daylight. It's interfaced with my Garmin chart-plotter and was outstanding.”

“We got an Aurora Black a little over a year ago and was very pleased with the performance especially at near dark late in the afternoon. We can see deer in the field behind our house at 200 yards and see them at 100+ yards with the IR security flood light all night.”

“There's a backlog on orders but it was worth the wait. I'm impressed!! It depends on your lighting situation on how these work just as any nvg's. A small IR light goes a long way. Familiarize yourself with the functions before testing/using. Attached mine to headgear, monocular, eyepieces help tremendously. I love them.”

“The light in the kit did not work. I called customer service and they rush shipped another without any questions asked. It arrived 2 days later, but I had already left on vacation. The gentleman did all he could short of paying overnight fees to rush it out. The night vision worked incredibly well and was fun to look at nature during pitch black and see like it was dusk or dawn. Thank you for your product.”

“The aurora black is a nice piece of kit. Pairing it with an ir light will definitely enhance your experience though. I’ve tested this unit out to approximately 250 yds with an ir light attached and it’s outstanding. Without an ir light it functions pretty nicely as long as there’s ambient light around. Buttons are tactile and audible which is very nice and everything is in reach. I recommend this product for anyone that enjoys the outdoors whether camping, boating or hunting. It’s really nice to see a product being able to record, still shot etc in one nice affordable package.”

“My Aurora Black is a great addition to my scopes, sights, and red dot spotting and aiming gear. It is easy to setup, a great size and weight. It is amazing to go out in the dark and see very well. We have some night time pests bothering my neighbors cattle. Now i will be able to see what is going on. Plus this unit as a digital cam and recorder makes it even more versatile. I wish they would have packed the lanyard & pouch, but that is ok.”

“With only a few days of testing, camera works great in dusk and dark as well, without any aid of an IR light. Case it came in is impressive as the camera. Charging light was a little confusing, most other cams blink green when charged, but the cam is easy to use and set up, even without directions. Can't wait to use it more!”
