“I was with another operator who closed so had to find another SIM only provider. Smarty offer excellent coverage where I live and throughout the UK. Their SIM only plan offered more data than any other on a price comparison. The monthly tariff was excellent offering unlimited calls and txt, as well as Gb of data I selected. My calls in Europe while roaming are still included. Fast service, easy set up of account online and no issues to date. “For me, Smarty is consistently great.
I do have to laugh at the negative reviews, probably from clueless people, who don’t even have the capacity to check that Three (Smarty’s parent company) offer good coverage where they live, work, socialise, etc !
You see it on the smarty community forum all the time, “I bought a smarty SIM card and I don’t have coverage ! Smarty is rubbish waaaaaa !”

Then we see the people who complain that their smarty SIM card won’t work in the caravan or motor home in rural Europe, not only because coverage is poor, but because they are driving around in a large faraday cage.
People try to be cheap and use Smarty as a permanent replacement for fixed line broadband, then complain that it won’t connect to their 8 devices, and little Shaniqua-Destiny needs WiFi on her iPad !
Still my favourite is the guy who couldn’t get a smarty SIM card working in his Tesla. Transpired you had to buy a connectivity service Tesla.
As a Smarty customer for a couple of years, for me it’s great.
The caveat remains that, like with any network, you have a responsibility to yourself to ensure Three offers good coverage where you need it most. Smarty could be free, but if it doesn’t offer coverage where you need it, it’s as much use as two tin cans and a piece of string.”

“I'm now updating my review as I've now remained with Smarty for about 8+ months after switching from EE. I took their referal code offer through a friend which meant I got a free first month to try them and u can cancel with them any time as its a rolling contract, so it seemed worth a try, and I can honestly say I've never been happier with any phone service for such unbeatable prices. At first I noticed I had better signal in my cave of a flat (Smarty uses 3 masts) and I've managed to cut my monthly costs which were about £40 a month for unlimited texts, calls and data with EE, to the exact same package for £16 a month with Smarty, but with the added freedom of a month by month rolling contract. I couldn't find that deal anywhere else... I liked the no strings option of trying for a free month thru my friend, to make sure I was happy with the signal etc.
