Payed £18 for unlimited data simcard said it would take upto 5 working days I'm on day 14 still hasn't come and it looks like no way of getting my money back

Having read reviews and checking the coverage in my area, I activated my new Smarty sim card this week. It's been a disaster. Poor data speeds, loss of 4g and long periods with no connectivity at all. Can't even access my banking app. Below is Smarty's response to the situation. "Thank you for sharing details. I checked the network in your area and it's congested. Team are aware and trying to fix it ASAP. Being super busy means you may experience call or data connection issues. Just too many users connecting to the same mast." Totally unacceptable. Please be warned before subscribing.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Smarty has been so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others. The customer service provided by this company is beyond horrific. After paying for package renewals, the service simply does not get activated, and despite the money being deducted from my bank account, I’m left chasing them for weeks with no resolution. Their customer service agents are not just unhelpful — they are robotic, repeating scripted responses without any ability or willingness to think critically or offer solutions. Every interaction feels like talking to a programmed machine incapable of empathy or problem-solving. What should be a simple issue drags on endlessly, wasting countless hours of my time. I have never encountered a worse service experience in my life. The frustration, wasted time, and sheer incompetence are staggering. Smarty’s customer support is not just poor — it’s torturous. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid Smarty at all costs. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Frankly, a business that operates with this level of disregard for its customers should not exist. In summary: stay far away from Smarty. It’s a complete nightmare.

Cannot use my data I have 50gb a month to use but I can’t because nothing loads lol. No phone number to speak to anyone. You get booted off the online chat every time you do a new one of their suggestions then have to answer 20 security questions to get on another chat. Really infuriating. Wish I’d have seen these reviews before I signed up. Not even worth the £8 a month I’m spending. Complete and utter waste of time switching to these idiots. If you’re reading this, save yourself the hassle.

Stay away!!! Just got a number held for over a year disabled within a month no login….non sense company stay away from them !!!! You can lose your number just by no login wow such a great scam

Absolutely appalling customer service, either the operatives are intentionally obtuse or their system is set up so horrendously that it makes reasonable communication impossible. Spent an entire day dealing with the most infuriating customer service agent, going through endless, circular nonesense trying to get an answer as to why, 10 days after purchase they have failed to send out the SIM cards ordered. Every response took ages, only to repeat irrelevant information and ask me to repeat myself, making no progress and absolutely no effort to resolve the issue. Cannot believe they are still in business if that is any indication as to their competence.

Can never get a signal at work where everyone on any other network van - awful - no one to speak with customer service so frustrating when I had a question that never got answered. Cancelled within a month

Useless. I had a data sim for my iPad. Works fine in uk, but despite following online guides, it will not work while abroad. There is no way to speak to someone, you just end up wasting hours on pointless chat boxes or emails trying to get an answer, to which the person on the other end was totally useless. I gave up in the end and cancelled my plan. I’ll go somewhere else

I wish I could give it 0 stars. The actual network works fine, I was getting 5G speeds constantly at home and work. It's the plan renewal and customer service that is utter rubbish. I didn't set up auto-renew which is 100% my fault, so when the month came to an end my plan expired. It was supposed to be a simple renewal, £20 comes off my card and sorted. But no, the website didn't work and neither did the app. It was just error message after error message. I used the Chat feature with a totally useless advisor who had me jump through hoops only to confirm that nothing was working then not providing a solution. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

Worst Internet speeds I've had in years!! Utterly ridiculous!!! Even just trying to get on trust pilot to leave this review has been painful. I was foolishly brought in by the unlimited data bundle for £20, as I have no wifi and was hoping to hotspot my TV to my phone as I have done with Vodafone with no problem before. No chance of that. I can't even watch a YouTube short on my phone without it buffering!!!! If Smarty ever reply to this, I can almost guarantee they'll mention coverage where I am (Plymouth). Which is what they seem to fob most bad reviews of a similar nature with. To people from all over the UK too...... Or they'll suggest I restart my phone/toggle data on and off or switch to airplane mode and back..... I did all this smarty.... still nothing. I would really like a refund but there's more chance of getting an amazing signal!!! There's even more chance of getting blood from a stone!!! I will not be giving those charlatans any more of my money. I would literally rather pay double the price and go back to Vodafone speeds that put them to shame!!!!!!!!

The coverage is truly dreadful. My wife is on EE and she has coverage pretty much everywhere where I don’t. I’m switching back after one month.

Smarty is slower than slow. It speeds up a few days before renewal time, but then reverts, almost immediately, to slower than slow. The one five star review here has obviously been provided my a Smarty employee. Whenever I complain about the lack of connectivity, I am told by Smarty that I should have read the small print in my contract. High speeds were never guaranteed. Quite right, they weren't, but they should have been honest about their inability to provide a decent level of service. I don't use the internet much, so I can cope with the slow speeds, but thank God it only costs me a tenner a month. Any more and I'd move to another provider immediately.

As good as no signal at all at my home address .Dreadful communications when things go wrong . Wasted an inordinate amount of time . Incredibly frustrating . Avoid like the plague . I really regret not staying with lebara or giff gaff. Adrian Staunton

Poor service , only used it 1 week a month for my iPad while away from home . Paused my account then when I asked for a refund told me I'd used some data even though my iPad had been off since it was paused . There's a reason there cheap . I suppose you get what you pay for ... or not from smarty

I contacted Smarty to se if my data only sim in my motorhome router would work in Europe. No problem they said, but you would need to buy an EU Roaming data from them for £7.00. This lasts for 3-days. After buying 4 of these £7.00 EU roaming datas, I had no internet signal for 20-days, and so could not get any internet and couldn't work. I contacted Smarty on more than 10 occasions informing of my problem, only to have a BOT keep asking for my personal details and telling me to turn off my Aeroplane tab. I kept replying that i don't have a phone, I have a router with a Smarty Sim. No-one contacted me, apart from these BOTS, so it was a hugely frustrating time for me and I have since cancelled my contract and will try to go with a provider that can at least answer a phone call to help with difficult situations. Terrible, terrible service; great if it works, but not when it doesn't. Bye Smarty

Connection is not performing at all, I have left on my add-on 2 GB and it's just sit there and do nothing, what a waste of the people time
