Initial service when joingin SO Energy was ecellent, However, customer service is none existent - either via phone, email contact or complaint contact - either no response, maybe an acknowledgement or response which does not answer queries based on actual evidence provided or resolve an issue. They have now advised me for a year that my smart meters are not sending meter readings every month when I receive my statement. Only they can remedy this but they have advised that they wll do remotely or in person to no avail, then told me I need new SMET 2 meters and that would be early 2024. I then applied online for these and they are now saying meters are working fine and it is because I provide customer readings that I have no smart meter readings on my statements even though I provided evidence from previous statements which include both smart meter reading and customer reading. They have been unable to explain why I receive monthly reminders from them that the meters are not sending readings. An adviser actually told me that if they cannot resolve an issue / complaint they simply close it down. They now want to charge for an in house visit to prove my meters are working and for an IHR replacement when I never had one in the first place.

Shocking. Don't bother. Ours doesn't work and So energy aren't interested in fixing the problem. AVOID SO ENERGY

Absolutely useless. I moved to a new property that was with so energy, they have been incredibly unhelpful. I can't get answers to basic questions. They do not call you back when they say they will and even cut you off when you do get to speak to someone. Very poor communication and customer service.

I was advised via email that I would receive my due refund from this company by 5pm on Friday 22 March, but it has never been sent to me. I phoned So Energy this morning at 9 am and after waiting some time to get through was advised by a man from the company that the refund was for an unexplained reason still pending, and that no more information was available. He wouldn't put my call through to the refunds team saying that they work 'in the background' and are not available for comment. In summation then, no overdue refund has been received and no time frame given to me as regards when I can expect my dues from them. Be warned !

I was with this company about two years ago. I found to be a good company then. Unfortunately, I made a great mistake by aplying to join then again at the end of January. Despite giving them my new email address, they confused it with my old one. As a result I got an email which insinuated that I owed them for the time I was with another company! They kept calling me "Edard" instead of Edward. I corrected then on this but their incorrection was there even in the final bill. I sent them four emails on three different days, but the latter were never answered. Lately, I found some of their current emails at my old email address which i hardly ever open. To cap it all they charged me what they called an Electricity "EARLY" Termination Charge. I left this company because of their inefficiency. I would give them 1 point of of 10 for being able to exist

Do not use! There is a reason why they are rated one of the worst energy companies… unfortunately I found out too late! Customer service is appalling. Constant lies… If you do join and contact them, keep emails and screenshots of webChats as they refused to pass them back to me as I threaten to take this to the Energy ombudsman… Also check other review sites as I’m not convinced these reviews are not fake!

WARNING, This is company is "SO dodgy" I've been attempting to retrieve the £750 they owe my elderly neighbour back for nearly a year. Meanwhile they keep taking money from her account. Advisors are always friendly "when they don't hang up straight away" however nobody knows any answers... the hoops she has had to jump through are completely outrageous. DO NOT sign up with them if you value your time or money. They couldnt even spell ethical never mind practice it.

Had smart meters 6 months ago and they keep taking my Direct debits but produce no bills so how can I budget for energy? Now have over£1200 credit. Repeated emails and complaints have done nothing except a couple of sorry replies. So Energy is So USELESS

wish I hadn't moved to this bodgit leggit company AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID stop sending generic useless pointless emails responses and actually fix the problem Been with them for the last 3 months and still to date I've not yet received any statements / cost of electricity I've used, despite contacting them about 6 to 9 times, even complaining to them, their customer care is useless avoid, all they do is send out generic emails. I’ve just looked at So Energy Estimated Annual Consumption estimate and there are 2 meters, both with the same MPAN Number both with 5,653 KWh with a total of 11,306 KWh, this has been ongoing since my switch over in July 23 I live in a 1 bedroomed flat with 2 people, and only have 1 electric smart meter Also to date since my switch over date to using yourselves since July 23, you have not sent me a bill / statement cost of my electricity usage, which I find alarming in today’s current climate. Can someone sort this out or do I have to contact Ofgem and seek advice I cant even submit a manual meter reading, avoid this company Can someone / anyone please adjust to reflect this?

the so energy algorithm and estimates running on fairy dust: I had 3 digit on my credit balance than I have done meter reading my account was revised, and left with 2 digit balance based the estimate Riddle me this Retrospectively, my balance was adjusted so I got back 25 back for a month March and then even though I consumed less than previous estimates based on the meter reading results, I got retrospectively extra charged, and when I have asked they couldn't confirm what is that calculation is based on nor provide any evidence to it

My main meter you cant get a electric meter read has second half of meter has no reading complained to so energy for months there just ignore your complaint its a terrible company to be with

In March I found I was £20 in debit so paid it. I was paying extra £17 this Spring/Summer than did last couple of years but discovered within 3.5 months I was £150 in debit, am usually well in credit due to heating not being on. Agreed to pay an extra £28 per month, checking out my online banking last week I discovered 17 days after taking last direct debit they have taken extra £47 off me. Contacted them 8 days ago but had no response. Ignorant as well as being robdogs, worst I have been with.

Near on all the reviews here a year or so ago, don't take my word for it suggest you read my review and look at other review sites about So Energy. My review as follows: First off don't give this company access to your bank account! Having cancelled our direct debit, funny then they contacted us with 24 hours? Not that we are going to reinstate it, this the last company I want with access to our bank account. Having been transferred to this company was the worst thing that could have happened to us. Its a nightmare, They don't answer the phone, emails, complaints nothing! END OFF! If you are well in credit with them and want your money back it seems from reading the reviews you've more chance of winning the lottery. Having read numerous reviews about this company and after reading on the fact that they are not to be trusted, no way on earth will I allow them access to my bank account so we have today cancelled our direct debit with them. I would suggest if your with them to do the same We are pensioners not counting I am being treated for an incurable cancer so we could do with out the hassle of a two bit energy company. As for being an award winning company, how on earth his company won any award God only knows. They won't last much longer as they have obviously major problems. We are going to leave them as soon as we can, suggest you stay well clear of this company.

Took out a two year fixed rate to October 2023 then unexpectedly got the opportunity to move. Tried to phone several times for advice about moving my tariff and unable to get through. They are only open during the working day when I am at work. My father had moved his EDF fixed rate tariff when he moved in September 2021 so expected to be able to do the same. Completed their move form and asked to transfer energy tariff. Had no useful correspondence from them. They have helped themselves to £60 exit fees from my credit and added more units onto the meter readings I gave them. I made a complaint and instead of responding to it they are chasing me for an overinflated bill and threatening me with additional charges. In some ways I am glad to not be dealing with them anymore as they are completely useless and have no customer service. I would not recommend So Energy!

I am very unhappy with the service and hidden charges. I joined So energy in 2018, but I paid too much every month for electricity bills. Even we are two people living however, I paid more than £120 each month. I complaint but customer service didn't help. I don't recommend you So Energy. Highly disappointed.

poor customer service winton who is a manager is the most and arragont person I have come across, the company lie and caused me distress and alarm.
