“Such a quick and easy process to keep your favorite Maui Jim sunglasses looking new! I lost my sunglasses and found them two weeks later in the garden. The frames were fine but the lenses had permanent water marks. I have my favorite sunglasses back and Tajima Direct is very responsive, keeping you posted every step of the way!”
“One of the worst things about getting a bit long in the tooth is eyesight and sunglasses especially if you enjoy outdoor activities. I've accumulated so many pairs of sunglasses over the years, that we actually have a sunglass drawer in the house. My kids actually enjoy pulling out some of the vintage Vuarnets. Sunglasses have become an issue over the last 10 years with changes in my vision, requiring me to wear progressive lenses or contacts on a daily basis. I didn't wear glasses my entire life and I struggle with contacts. Progressive prescription sunglasses from the major players (Maui, Costa, and even RayBan) are prohibitively expensive. I read about Tajima in Sailing World and decided to give them a try.. Using my eye script, a few measurements, and a few conversations with Jacob, I received new sunglasses in short order. I haven't worn the new glasses in bright sunshine on the water yet, but they work great in the snow. I can probably say that the sunglasses are the best lenses I have ever worn. I've already sent an old pair of RayBan aviators back for new lenses. A great concept and great customer service. Keep up the good work Jacob!”

“I read a review about Tajima Direct in the Angling Trade e-news. Knowing the author of the review, Kirk Deeter, to be a straight shooter, and a guy who wouldn't compliment a product if he didn't mean it, I decided to spend less than $90 for Oakley sunglasses lens replacements through Tajima rather than another $200 on a new pair.
On Thanksgiving night, I sent an inquiry to Tajima seeking information about my specific pair of sunglasses, expecting a reply the following Monday, after the holiday. Less than 15 minutes after I sent my inquiry, I received a response from Jacob, co-owner of Tajima.
With my questions answered, I paid for the new lenses. It took 11 days for me to get my lenses, which included Jacob sending me an empty box with a free shipping label, me shipping my glasses back to Tajima, and Tajima sending me my repaired glasses. And this amazing service was during the XMas shipping rush.
The lenses are a prefect match, and high quality. I'll send in a second pair of sunglasses for lens replacement in the near future.

“Great customer service, sunglasses look good so far but I haven’t used them for fishing yet. If I had it to do over, I’d probably get some new frames. My old Rudy Project frames wrap around so far that I needed edge thinning for my prescription. This leads to an annoying abrupt change in refraction at the edges, which is noticeable in peripheral vision. I will have to see with more use how annoying that is on the water. Also, the transitions in my lenses occur at a different height in the field of view than in my every day glasses I guess due to the different design of the frames. Again, it may just be a matter of getting used to this with more use. Thus 4 stars not 5.”
Hi David, thank you for the review. Please note that we did fully inform and warn you about the thickness and detractors of using such a wrapped frame with your strength of power correction needed for your prescription. We actually recommended that you use a less wrapped frame, but you were insistent so we made it for you. I'm sure they'll still work great as you take the time to get used to them.
“I had a pair of vintage frames with broken lenses that I had been hanging onto for years, always thinking of getting repaired. After learning about Tajima-Direct, I took the plunge and am so glad I did. The lenses are fantastic with great optics. Furthermore, the team there were great at communicating the status of my order and responded to inquiries very quickly. There were some issues with the USPS as it was during the Christmas rush, and Jacob continued to follow up and keep me informed until the glasses were received. Highly recommended.”

“Nice lenses! My RB8308's looked pretty nice with the original dark brown lenses, until they got damaged by salt water boating activities - I had custom prescription lenses with AR coating- the coating failed.
I got the Tajima brown lenses with gold mirrors, very happy with them, they are a little darker, that is, slightly less luminous transmittance than the original lenses.”
