As for finding cheaper lens replacements elsewhere, you're right in that it's certainly out there, however, you're going to get what you pay for in terms of lens quality. Those options will be cheaper plastic lenses (most of the time out of China) that will have worse optics (clarity, sharpness, distortion) and worse scratch resistance (our lenses are 5x more scratch resistant than standard plastic lenses) than our premium Japanese polarized lenses using our patented lens material.

“Took a chance on these to replace the broken 580G lenses in my Costa Whitetips (being that the Tajima's were nearly the same price as replacing the original glass lenses). I was intrigued by the claim that Urethane was closer to glass clarity than poly, while being lighter and more impact resistant. Having worn them for a bit, I can honestly say the Tajima lenses are quite impressive. Color and clarity are great. Polarization is top notch. As a replacement for the Costa glass 580G, I highly recommend.”
