I like the Rheem tankless water heaters well enough that I currently own five of them. The service from the distributor has been excellent but I have one suggestion: Since the new-style water heaters are so susceptible to brown-outs and power surges, I think it would be a good idea to build surge protectors into the units. Barring that, please recommend to all your customers that they plug their units into a surge protector. I have lost (and replaced) two units due to power surges --- the fuses do not protect the water heaters from power surges.

An awesome unit, I cannot say how much money it has saved us versus the standard water heater. Price of unit was around $75 more expensive in local area then my purchase through you guys. Customer service A+ called a few times with water heater questions, answered every time.

The tank depot did a great job handling my request. The hot water heater works great. Only issue I have is with install and I am trying to get a plumber to troubleshoot that now. When the gas is shut off to the house, I get no water flow (cold water) this shouldn’t happen... not sure if there is something the installation plumber did, but I assume it’s due to the water heater

I thought they were very informative on the product I was interested in buying for my home. Their prices were also very competitive with other companies.

We have a very small furnace/ water heater area so this size unit works nicely. Originally I installed a Bosch water star gas unit almost 20 years ago. It did fine until it started leaking last year. I searched for an electric unit as we have had two carbon monoxide alarms from the gas unit in a year. Not realizing that the house demand would require such a larger unit I had to upgrade my electrical panel. I was planning to do this already so it made sense that now was as good a time as any. It does take up to 40 seconds to bring the water up to temp but when it does be prepared. It has the potential to take your skin off. The controls are stupid simple, even I could figure it out. All in all I like the unit and if I get the same life span from it that I got from my Energy start I’ll be happy. Plus the price wasn’t terrible.

I chose this product after purchasing a home with one already installed. As expected, the Point Of Service Water Heater works incredibly well. I can do wash, have a shower running while doing dishes and the water is consistently hot, everywhere in my home. Easy installation. Would and have recommended this unit to everyone.

Awesome experience buying online, purchased a replacement unit. My old one was in a damp crawl space after years of service it was ready for replacement. Everything I needed for a quick in and out exchange.

Hi Gail, you ordered an electric Rheem RTEX-24 all the way back on 4/22/2020. The unit was received back this last week 7/08/2020. Nearly 3 months later. The unit, as you said in your review, arrived to you well packed. However, we received the unit back in a destroyed box with the internal foam the unit sits in missing and no owners manual. Most sites would not allow to you return items after 30 days, and no way in this condition. Not only are we allowing the return, but I am trying to get Rheem to send new packaging so that I can sell the unit to someone else and give you a full refund minus your shipping costs and the reboxing fee. However, without getting a new box from Rheem with the unit's serial # and UPC on it, it would not be possible to sell it to someone as new , it will have to be sold as open box item for a discount, and we would not be able to provide you a full refund. I will email you an update as soon as I find out from Rheem if we can get a new box and foam. That said I have no idea why you have had the unit as long as you have, or why the units packaging is missing and destroyed or what you think we should have done different but we are doing the best we can for you, and think we are being more than fair.

I wanted to provide an update. We were able to get a new box from Rheem and refunded this customer . I hope that they will edit or remove their review to accurately reflect what happened and the service we provided.

Unit came damaged. Box is intact. Now arguing with Tankless Water Heater Depot regarding what was written in the lengthy "Refund and Exchange Policy for Damaged Products". I did wonder why I had to agree to this strange policy. Now I know. Next time, I'll go to Home depot, the going back and forth is not worth the $100 I saved.

Hi Phil, I am sorry you are upset and leaving a bad review, but I am not sure what is the matter. The images you sent show no visible damage to the front cover, but as I have said even though I cannot see it, and you have agreed it is very minor, it does not matter we will send you a replacement cover for free and pay for the shipping. The cover that you are saying has some minor dent on it, pops on and off. It is just a protective metal cover. We will send you a replacement cover even though minor dents can usually just be popped out with your fingers after removing the cover, and obviously have no impact on the unit's warranty or performance. The unit itself is perfect, as you have said in an email you just sent. It has no damage at all. You have had it since Monday. We could file a UPS claim as I have told you, but because you have had the unit for more than 72 hours, the damage (if there is any) is very minor, cosmetic only and to a replaceable part so it would be impossible to get UPS to replace the whole unit, nor would that make sense, as its perfect. They would probably pay for a new cover, but as I have told you it is not worth the time it would take to win an insurance claim for a replacement cover that costs me $28. I have offered to pay for the cover and pay to ship it to you. I have responded to every email you have sent promptly and am offering to provide a new cover. Not sure what else we could reasonably do?
