“I have been using Calais wine Superstore for many years now and find the staff very helpful as for there prices the owner told me he does a price check with all the other stores to beat there prices, I checked this out and he is so right with his prices and as for paying for our trip over it makes for a cheap day out. Thank you Richard Miller”

“Excellent customer service nothing is to much trouble. Pre ordered some wine which was all on a trolley waiting for me. You can pay in pounds euros, cards in fact anything apart from luncheon vouchers ( Im not sure if you can still get them) They will even help you to your car and load if you ask. If you have a party or wedding or you just drink a lot for the fun of it, its worth going, spend enough and they will pay the channel crossing as well. As soon as we are down to our last two boxes we will be booking another trip.”

“A simple formula, perfectly executed - wine was attractively priced, there's a huge selection, we ordered, they arranged our crossing and it all worked seamlessly. Everything was already on a trolley waiting for us when we arrived. We meandered around the store and selected a few more items (staff were cheerful, and really helpful), we paid for everything, loaded our car and off we went. It couldn't be easier, it probably couldn't be less costly and we were delighted with what we bought - it's definitely worth the (very little) effort and we will definitely do this again.”

“One thing that is very annoying is that you send out emails to say a certain wine is available and I then pre order only to find 2/3 days prior to my collection I am emailed to say the product is out of stock so you have sold my order to someone else clearly. Also your reasonable wines (£2) are creeping up in price which makes me question is the trip worth it compared to discounted wines in the UK? Also you get some good wines in and never stock them again ! Apart from that all good but trips to you will be less.”

Thank you for your comments. Sometimes wines featured in our emails are so popular that the stock reduces more quickly than we had expected - however, if you have successfully placed a pre-order for a wine, it is only reasonable to assume that you will be able to pick some up when you come over! If you could let us know with which products you have encountered this problem we will do our best to help. Although we do try to keep a huge range of quality wines in stock at all times, occasionally we are only able to secure bargains on limited quantities. In these instances we can only offer the product while stocks last. We appreciate it can be frustrating if you are after a particular wine, but can generally recommend something of similar quality from the rest of our range. Currently we have a selection of more than 50 different wines in stock at £1.99, offering average savings of over £4 a bottle on UK prices. Thank you very much for your feedback. “Very good selection of wines from around the world at excellent prices. So many of the £2 wines are really good for current drinking. Was reluctant to buy things we didn't know, but got lots after trying in the excellent tasting room. Wish it was easier to get there from the North - would visit several times a year”

“Whenever my wife and I visit, our order is always ready to be wheeled straight to the car. We usually taste a couple of new wines, and spend a little more than intended, but I am not complaining. Your staff are helpful and polite. We have already recommended Calais Wine to several friends. We also like the fact that if we have managed to do the trip and loading the car quicker than usual, normally we will get a non chargeable upgrade for an earlier return train. Very good in our book!”

“STAFF ALWAYS PLEASANT AND HELPFUL AND PRICES VERY GOOD. ARRIVED YESTERDAY TO PICK UP MY ORDER AND FOUND MY WINE BOXES ONLY HAD A SELL BY/USE BEFORE DATE OF APRIL 2016 ON THEM. IT WAS A LARGE ORDER SO HAD TO CHANGE MY ORDER WHILST IN THE STORE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN APPROPRIATE FOR SOME ONE TO CONTACT ME AND INFORM ME OF THIS FACT BEFORE I ARRIVED SO I COULD HAVE LOOKED AT ALTERNATIVES BEFOREHAND. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE AS USUAL.”

“Have been using CWS now for several years because the prices are fantastic and the staff so very helpful. The crossing offers are very useful and the few remaining wine/spirit suppliers left in Calais are now copying these offers. We try to get over a couple of times a year and, with a change of car to an estate pending we may well be able to bring back even more grape juice!! Great company to deal with.”

“We would never leave France without a visit to Calais wine. It is so close to the Ferry Terminal and the wine deals are absolutely amazing. Why pay £10 in the Uk when you can get the same wine at Calais Wine for £2? You can always taste the wine if in doubt and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We often take advantage of their free ferry day trip offer - it's win win all the way.”
