“Great service as always from a knowledgeable staff with an increasing choice of good quality and value for money wine and beers. It would help to know when a particular wine is no longer going to be stocked. For instance they had a Portuguese Vinho Verde produced by Avelada, it suddenly disappeared from the availability list and other than sending an email to check whether further stock is going to be received it is not possible to ascertain if it will be available in the future. It would be useful to have the wine still listed with an indication of further stock awaited it this is the case or discontinued if not. This note could then be deleted after say three or four weeks if discontinued.”

“I have made several trips to the Calais Wine Superstore. The store offers wine and beer great prices and the staff are most oblidging ,they do their very best to arrange travel times to suit the customer,see you again in september!”

“Easy to get to, being within a short distance from Calais. Good selection of wines at reasonable prices with good offers on top. Glad to hear that more beers will be available soon. Just a matter of getting the French to stop the strikes!!”

“Fantastic choice of wines. Brilliant service and great value for money what more can I say, except that it makes a day trip very worthwhile. They even pay for the crossing if you spend enough and the more you spend the more you save!!”

“i placed an order a few months ago on line, on arrival i found that our order had been made ready was exactly what we wanted. The whole experience was efficient, quick and enjoyable. The only drawback for me was that i was unable to take part in the wine tasting as i was driving. My daughter is getting married next year and i will certainly be placing an order with the Calais Wine Superstore for this event.”

“Always a good selection of wines from around the world at excellent prices to meet every depth of pocket. Planning the trip has always been without any issue - if you email any questions or set up the travel plans you always get a quick response. Love the fact that you can 'try before you buy' as you do get the same as the sample you have tasted which is not always the case! Service when you arrive/finish shopping is always quick and friendly. I don't bother going anywhere else and will get everything I need in the Calais wine superstore. I have pre-ordered and shopped when I get there - both work for me. The free travel just makes it even easier and cheaper - I love a day out there!”

“Have been using the Calais Wine superstore for some years now and buy almost all our wine there. Terrific value and great travel offers. Some of the best buys don't last long - but the ability to taste when you get there and choose something different is great.”

“Just find the experience of visiting Calais Supermarket such fun. Everyone is so helpful, the prices are excellent. Best to do a little homework before you go to see what is currently available. Updates by post also helpful.”

“The service you receive from Calais Wine is second to none. The Web site is excellent and very informative on all their wines and you know exactly what you are paying. Also the back up service is first class if you have a query or are looking for a particular wine you always receive a same day response to any email. It is such a shame that the French government does not take stronger action with the immigration problem and even stronger action with the strikers to ensure both French and English business is allowed to continue uninterrupted both sides of the channel.”

“I think Calais Wine offers an exceptionally good service and wines of generally great value. Mostly I am looking for everday drinking wine in the £2-£3 range, and CW has plenty to satisfy me. Short of actually delivering the wine to my door - which I know is not allowed - it is difficult to think of anything that would improve the service - apart from opening an in-house bistro serving andouillettes and frites ! I usually make 2-3 trips a year, spend around £400, and take advantage of the Eurotunnel and ferry offer (a really good bonus). I'd come more often if I lived closer to Dover/Folkestone, but 100 miles each way makes it a long day. If CW didn't exist then I would certainly cease making day-trips to Calais.”

“Been using this store since it first opened (and used Oddbins before that where they started from). Always found an excellent range of wines from low to medium prices with the best tasting set up of any wine store I have ever visited. Prices are always competitive and sometimes you can find a stunning bargain at a rock bottom price.”
