“My wine buying experience in France has been made so easy with The Calais Wine Superstore . I order on line normally a couple of days before my trip, book a good restaurant close by for a delightful lunch, pop to the hyper market to stock up on cheese and other culinary goodies, then off to the wine warehouse to pick up my order - it couldn't be more simple. Highly recommend their diverse stock and fab prices. Dont miss out - give it a try!”

“The last order we placed, the site kept crashing and losing our basket, it took 3 different attempts over 2 days before we could order. Generally very pleased, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It is very nice when someone also offers to help load the car as we always have a large order Great team well done”

“This rating breaks down into "Very Good" for Calais Wine but "Very Poor" for the cheque guarantee service offered by their merchant card services partner Transax. For the second occasion (out of two occasions) Transax refused to accept my cheque payment and I spent 30 minutes in Calais calling my bank in the UK. All to no avail as Transax still refused to budge, despite there being nothing wrong with my card. All the information corresponded but it was still a "Transax says No", with no explanation. Very embarrassing. Also time consuming as we were on a day trip and had limited time so had to cut short our planned lunch. Very frustrating. Calais Wine - please sort out the problems at Transax, or stop using them, as they spoil a very good service from yourselves. Just one other point - there was a very limited choice of wines for sampling on the day we visited as they were doing a stock count. This was disappointing though it was the first time this has happened to us and we are regular customers.”

We are sorry to hear you had a negative experience with Transax when paying by cheque at The Calais Wine Superstore. We do offer various other methods of payment including paying in sterling or euros by credit or debit card, but unfortunately we are unable to offer an alternative cheque guarantee service at the moment as Transax are the only people able to offer this service. “everyone who serves in the store are knowledgible re the products they sell. They encourage tasting and the facilities for tasting are excellent. The service is fist rate, the store is very well organised, it's easy to locate what you want. On line service is excellent and value for money unbeatable.”

“We have used CWS on many occasions over the last few years and have always enjoyed top quality service and prices. Our youngest son and his wife purchased all of their Prosecco for their wedding in 2013. We visit at least 2 or 3 times a year and hopefully will continue to do so. We are always more than happy with the quality of the wines. David J”

“The Calais Wine Warehouse offered a great range of reasonably priced wines/ From quality everyday drinking wine at £2.00 to 2.99 per bottle to good quality "elite" at £12.00 plus. In every category I have made significant savings over UK prices. I find the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. If a product that I have ordered is out of stock then they have always phoned to recommend a replacement. So far I have not been disappointed. Overall a great shopping experience.”

“As on previous occasions, our order was picked and ready for us; being elderly they also loaded it into the car. All I had to do was pay. Quick, courteous and helpful nothing to complain about. The wine great value for money Highly recommended Bernard White, Chelmsford”

“The whole process is quick and simple, from choosing the wine to arriving on site. There is no pressure to buy more wine when arriving at the superstore and you are left to stroll around choosing more and of course tasting the wine. Our friends cannot believe that we are able to have the train crossing included in the purchase which makes a great day out to be able to sample the delights of the French seaside.”

They can also give great advice and guidance. The trip across can be pre-paid for free and your order is ready and waiting. However, its always worth a stroll around the isles:). “Only decided to go to France at the last minute, placed our order on line and within 30 mins reference for Eurotunnel crossing for the next day had arrived. So easy. Order was ready when we arrived at Calais Wine Superstore the next day. Definitely the way to shop”

“As a Welshman, the opportunity to visit Calais for a 'quick run' wasn't really viable. Now I have moved to Kent, I wouldn't go anywhere else. The guys are super helpful and nothing is ever too much for them. You can try wines while you are there and the prices are simply amazing. The fact you don't have to pay for your travel (if you spend enough) is even better. The prices are great too. Everyone commented on the wines we had for our wedding and I they were about £3 a bottle. It might seem tight, but when we tried them, we couldn't believe it was £3 a bottle. Cheers guys.”

“Why do my favourites come and go so much? Very frustrating to try ordering stuff which turns out to be out of stock. (eg Arniston Bay, High Tide red, Bush tales etc). Good value and prices, and helpful staff. Packing my car for me is a blessing. Thank you. I don't find the new website as easy to use as the old one. I really should be giving 4.5/5 !”
