“I have been buying from the pearl source for several years. The first purchase for a set of Hanadama Akoya Pearls - necklace, bracelet and earrings was exceptional. Going forward I bought Akoya Pearl earrings and a pendant to match. Recently I purchased Akoya pendants and earrings for my daughter for her wedding also for the bridesmaids. I was not happy with the quality and returned them.
They said they would refund the money but I had to pay for the returns to the US. weeks went by and no money was returned to my account. Eventually I got in touch again and I was told that there had been a "glitch" in their system. Luckily I had taken photos of everything and I had saved my emails from them. I got my money back eventually. I too had been caught out by "Audrey" and another "agent". I still bought a Freshwater pearl necklace and it was just dreadful quality. I wanted to return it and they agreed bt got very shirty with me saying perhaps I should shop elsewhere if their products didn't suit me. I was absolutely fuming and I said I would indeed buy elsewhere they said I had returned too many items. So I told them they wouldn't have a problem with me again. The disturbing thing was they then closed delivery to Europe and opened a new site in the UK. The Pearl Source made you feel you were getting a great "deal" but in fact I now think they are hooking customers and even though there's a 60 Day refund if you pay the return postage, they expect you to accept what they send and don't want complaints. I would encourage customers to stay away from them. Because they turned quite nasty with me when I complained.”
“GIA doesn't match the Pearl Necklace sent
The GIA you sent with the pearls doesn't match the pearls sent. I have photos. GIA says 43 pearls but the actual number of Pearls is 41. I can not correlate what I received with what I ordered, no way of understanding quality or value or purchase. The Pearl necklace has no inventory tag, no serial number, no way to uniquely identify against the GIA card that was not even in the box with the correct Pearl necklace.
It seems like you don't actually take the grading by a 3rd party seriously or it is just a scam. It appears you just have generic GIA cards that you put into the bag with the Pearls ? Very questionable business practice for fine jewelry.
Having to send these back because I can not confirm their authenticity or quality/value.

“Today, I spoke to one of your female employees, she was simply marvelous, considerate and patient. We arrived at a product my wife and I felt was the best to our liking. My wife and I have been together since the age of fifteen, for nearly 60 years, her comment when we finally reach the end of our negotiations, was, "I do not deserve such a beautiful pearl necklace". It almost broke my heart. Whatever the cost your pearl necklace has been well received and my wife will wear it proudly. Thank you and God bless.”
“earrings fell apart. 2 pairs same thing...the glue that holds the post in the earring hole failed. on the first pair the it was returned and fixed and fell apart 3 months later and entire pearl fell off and was lost. we lost $800+ . second pair 2 returns for same problem...now 1 month after 2nd repair they fell apart again. these were $1158.... they will never offer refund only send back to repair but they will N E V E R actually be repaired....horrible quality and large money loss”
“Purchased the Tahitian South Sea Pearl Hope Pendant as a Christmas present. Arrived quickly, but the quality of pearl was poor and was nothing like advertised. The setting of the pearl looked like it was rushed and was not done by a professional jeweller, like advertised on the website. Organised a return and was told I would be given a full refund once I could provide the tracking number. I provided the tracking number and heard nothing back for 3 days. Made another call and was told I wouldn’t be refunded for another 8 to 10 days. From what I’ve experienced, do not shop here - you may have spend a bit more elsewhere but it will be worth it to avoid what I’m going through”
“I purchased earrings 9.0 -9.5 Akoya Pearl 14k white gold and they came with a push back not even optioned for a twist back . The push back would always slide off now my earring is gone waste of money… will definitely be purchasing elsewhere with a jeweler who actually cares to rectify the issue …15% off a second pair to have the same issue No thank you”
“Made the mistake of believing the website & customer care woman (Audrey) that the high-end black pearl strand I purchased would arrive within a week, in time for Easter. Was reassured several times this wasn’t an issue…they would be here. Five days later they tell me they cannot fill the order in time. My wife’s “Easter Eggs” won’t be shipped and get this…they are closed on Friday, April 7th. Nothing they can do…tough luck. They made no effort to make it right (at the very least you would expect some sort of discount as compensation for being mislead and ruining the surprise holiday gift) but no…F U very much. I will never try to buy from them again…their customer service bar is set so low you need a shovel to see it. I am furious with them for placing me in the position. I always come through with nice gifts for my wife and now I have no time to secure a comparable replacement. Does The Pearl Source care? Nope. I got the feeling they tell customers such things frequently enough their staff doesn’t feel anything when delivering the awful news. Do not believe them! They lied to me 3 times and stuck it to me good. Now I’m dripping in the bovine excrement they delivered by phone. thepearlsource.com is a portal to disappointment and mendacities. Sagacious shoppers should shop elsewhere, you’ve been warned.”
“Beautiful quality pearls, much better than high street jewellers at a fraction of the price. Full information provided about delivery so I knew exactly when they would arrive. Received from the USA faster than from a town 10 miles away!”
